Hospital Web Sites

Hospital Web Sites Evaluation

People often use hospital Web sites to gather information about the facility. Therefore, it is very important that hospitals implement well-designed Web sites to market services to the public. Hospital marketing professionals should work with a web design team to ensure that information is easy to locate on their site.

To understand how the two facilities you have chosen for your interviews and final project promote themselves virtually, you will do a deep dive into each of their Web sites. This will give you an idea on the overall marketing approach they are taking and offer insight for more meaningful conversations when you conduct your interviews. Feel free to expand to the use of social media and other virtual forms of promotions and communication the facilities may be utilizing.

Your Unit 4 assignment should include a comprehensive comparison paper regarding the following aspects of each Web site:

  • Ability to access information quickly.
  • Visual appeal for patients from a marketing perspective.
  • Visual appeal for physicians or providers from a marketing perspective.
  • Depth of information available on topics of interest.
  • Information you could not locate.

This is expected to be a narrative paper, demonstrating an ability to apply the marketing principles and concepts covered in the course material to evaluate the marketing approaches of the facilities. Be sure to help explain and back up your writing with researched, legitimate, and credible information.

Market Plan Section 1

Preface:

You are the new marketing manager to The Waters Bottling Company (WBC) of Munsonville, NH. They have never done any marketing for their water before so they will need to be educated as to the role of marketing in their company’s success. They started their company last year and want to “do it right” according to their president and founder, Dr. M. Waters. (The M stands for Muddy so he prudently only uses the initial. He also is rather fond of Blues music, which he would like to incorporate into the marketing plan in some way.) They want to sell their crystal clear, granite filtered mountain water to the “right” market. It is your job to identify that target market. At this point, they don’t even know how the product should be packaged or have a name to identify it. You will get to make that determination and carry that product through the entire Marketing Plan.

Imagination and creativity combined with solid marketing concepts will be the basic framework for your report. They will be relying on you for all of the details to make this product successful. They are well funded and ready to bring this product to market, with your help and guidance.

Use the attached Marketing Planning Guide to build your marketing plan for their naturally mineral rich pure mountain water. Be sure to relate the marketing concepts/ theories to this product/ company as you build the marketing plan over the length of the course. The completed sections of the marketing plan will be submitted in the Dropbox for each module. Use each of the outline items as headers/ subheads for your analysis. Be concise and apply each of the appropriate concepts to the WBC scenario.

Marketing Planning Guide

    • Marketing and its relationship with other functional areas of business
  • Strategic Marketing
    • Planning Process
  • Strategy
    • Organizational Levels
    • Goals and Objectives
  • Planning Gap
    • Ethics in Marketing

You will create a complete Marketing Plan by the end of the course. You will write the first section of the Marketing Plan for this assignment. Use the guide to identify the sections of the Marketing Plan and the marketing elements contained therein. This assignment will focus on Section 1 – The Environment (Module 1).

Over the span of the course, you will gather information from a number of probable sources. Some of the sources may include, but are not limited to, the Internet, public libraries, business magazines, newspapers, the Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, annual reports, consultant/industry analyst reports, databases, Department of Commerce publications, Temple and other university libraries, trade and academic journals, Moody’s, Value Line, etc.

You may be surprised and overwhelmed by the volume of information that is available for many topics, though you may have to do some “detective work” to locate them.

You may find Web sites such as Hoovers.com and Lexis-Nexis extremely helpful.

Create a 4- to 6-page Word document for your Marketing Plan Section. Apply a standard business writing style using the Market Planning Guide sections as your (headers/ sub heads/ bullets) to your work. Be sure to cite your work in the APA format.

Art Appreciation and Introduction to International Relation

Art Appreciation discussion questions(100 -150 words each )

1)This unit’s visual art terms explains content. In the two images you post think about and give a clue to what the content might be. You do not have to write an essay for each post. Write some notation that connects the image to the course. The reason you are collecting images is for you to look back at the end of the course to see if you got more focused, or maybe the entire blog will tell a story. If all your images are read like what people do in graphic novels or visual books what would it say? You are to be looking for images that please you!

2)Style is the big art term and concept in this weeks reading. You also have the classifications of representational and non-representational, there are other words that can be substituted for these, first learn these two and their distinctions and practice using them in preparation for your essay assignments. The words: line, mark and painterly are all unique to themselves, observe their distinct differences. Continue to find the images that resonate with you!

3)The classification of style is continued in this weeks reading. Realistic, naturalistic, idealistic are different presentations of the world we see. Learn the characteristics and differences of these art terms. Practice using them in preparation for your essay assignments. The term, abstract, can be more clearly understood when you understand the differences between the styles used to portray the world we see. Think about the difference between the adjectives, abstract, and abstracted. Pure abstraction portrays an image that is “disassociated from any specific instance”; but a depiction from the visible or imagined world can be abstracted to present an image that is recognizable but with less detail, accurate color, etc. than what a camera might capture.

4)The classification of medium is introduced in this weeks reading. Painting, drawing, printmaking are all mediums used by artists to record their messages. Artists can use two dimensional or three dimensional mediums. And the ephemeral work of installation and performance have entered our crowded world. Art does not need to be permanent, it can be expressed, its reality captured in written accounts and photographic images. In those documentations the art work continues to “exist”.

Social Psychology Discussion Board Help

In 1962, a classic social psychology experiment was completed by Schachter and Singer. In the study, the researchers injected participants with a drug known to increase physiological arousal (increased heart rate, blood pressure, and energy). Only half of the participants were told about the drug’s effects in advance. The participants were then divided into two groups. The first group of participants was placed in a waiting room with nonstudy individuals who acted excitedly happy. The second group of participants was placed in a waiting room with nonstudy individuals who acted irritable. Interestingly, those participants who were not told about the drug’s effects beforehand responded to the drug in the same manner as the nonstudy individuals with whom they shared a waiting room. Participants waiting with happy individuals became happy, while participants waiting with irritable individuals became irritated (Schachter & Singer, 1962).

The Schachter and Singer study is believed to be evidence in support of Daryl J. Bem’s Self-Perception Theory. Bem’s theory suggests that when a person is experiencing vague or unknown internal stimuli (such as the increased heart rate and blood pressure mentioned in the study above), that person will then look outside him- or herself to clues within the environment. These external clues are then used to make an interpretation about how the person should feel or behave (Bem, 1972).

  • Describe a situation from your own life or a situation you observed in which you or others responded primarily because of the behaviors, attitudes, or feelings of those around you.
    • Describe the situation in detail.
    • If you are using an example from your own experience, describe the internal stimuli that you were experiencing.
    • Describe the signals that you picked up on from the other people within your environment.
    • Looking back now, do you think that your interpretation of the situation could have changed if you had experienced a different environment at that time?
  • Can you think of certain situations where this theory is more likely to occur?
  • How might you apply your knowledge of this theory to the workplace?
