Complete 2 Short Strategies Assignment for Business Course

Please separate assignment and journal…and no plagiarism!!!!

Fair-Minded Qualities

After reading this week’s lectures on the qualities of a Fair-Minded Thinker, select one quality you feel you possess and describe how you embody this quality.

Next, select two qualities you feel you need to improve upon.

Using the five step decision making process outlined below, create a plan of action to improve in those areas. Please be sure to outline the specific steps you’ll take to overcome any obstacles you face.

Your completed assignment should be written primarily in first person and should be 500-750 words in length. If you use sources in your writing, be sure to identify them. If you use any direct language from a source, be sure to place those words in quotation marks.

Decision Making Process

  • Step One: As clearly as possible, define the decision you are faced with.
  • Step Two: Consider each possible choice you have for resolving the issue.
  • Step Three: Gather as much relevant information as time allows, and identify the pros and cons of each of the choices you have to solve your issue.
  • Step Four: Based on your list of pros and cons, choose the best method for resolving the issue.
  • Step Five: Construct a plan of action to implement your method (be sure to leave yourself enough flexibility to make adjustments as necessary).

Problem Solving

Throughout the course, we will be coming back to the decision making process and discussing how we solve problems. Many of the things we discuss in the course refer to avoiding the pitfalls that many people make in problem solving. In your opinion, what is problem solving? Why is it important? What is an example of a time you succeeded at solving a problem? What is a time you failed at solving a problem?

Your work should be at least 500 words, but mostly draw from your own personal experience. This should be written in first person and give examples from your life. Be sure if you are using information from the readings that you properly cite your readings in this, and in all assignments.

police Discretion Project 1: Resource Research and Review

Project 1: Resource Research and Review

Project 1 is designed to help prepare you for the final project at the end of the semester. You will notice that, for
your final project in this course, you will be asked to trace a crime
or criminal incident through the adult criminal justice system, from
initial arrest to the eventual return to the community following
incarceration. As you work on the final project, you will encounter
numerous decision points or stages in the system. Project 1 will assist
you in preparing for your final project by introducing you to topic
research. You may then use the results of this project to support your
final project paper.

Project 1 Assignment:

Using the
designated topic listed below (see, Topics), you will search the UMUC
Library Services databases and the Internet for resource material that
explains, clarifies, critiques, etc. the topic.

1.
Your Resource Research and Review project must contain four (4) outside
sources (not instructional material for this course), at least two of
which must come from the UMUC Library data base (these are attached for your reference).

2.
Locate books, periodicals, and documents that may contain useful
information and ideas on your topic. You may conduct your research with
the assistance of a UMUC librarian, reviewing your own personal
materials on the topic, using the Internet, visiting an actual library,
etc. and reviewing the available items. Then, choose those works that
provide a variety of perspectives on your topic.

Note:
You can connect to Library Services by using the Library link under
RESOURCES in the Classroom task bar, or link directly to the UMUC
Library Guide to Criminal Justice Resources link in CONTENT

3.
Type the reference “citation” information for the book, article, or
document using the American Psychological Association (APA) formatting
standards. (There are links to APA format standards under Library
Services.)

4.
Each reference is to be followed by the annotation. The purpose of the
annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and
quality of the sources cited. Creating an annotated bibliography calls
for a variety of intellectual skills: concise exposition, succinct
analysis, and informed library research.

5.
Write a concise annotation (150 words) for each reference that
summarizes the central theme and scope of the book, article, or
document. This must include:

Discussion Is Egyptian art similar stylistically to any Mesopotamian culture from that time, art & design homework help

Is Egyptian art similar stylistically to any Mesopotamian culture from that time? Which culture and how are they similar or different in style and cultural context? Compare and contrast the formal and iconographic characteristics of Ti Hunting Hippopotamus and Ashurbanipal Hunting Lions. Identify formal and iconographic characteristics ancient Egyptian art shares with prehistoric Near Eastern images

Many of the examples of Egyptian art seen in this chapter belong to North American and European museums, since foreign archeologists made many of the early discoveries. Travelling shows of Egyptian art are very popular and are potentially huge revenue producers. While today removing a country’s cultural patrimony is illegal, this was not the case in the past. Should these works now be returned to Egypt?

You have been asked why scholars use the word “conservative” to describe ancient Egyptian pictorial arts. How do you answer the question? Describe the Egyptian canon of proportion and how it was applied. Make sure to discuss the significance of the Amarna Period and explain its formal and iconographic characteristics. Why does a change in religion bring about a change in art in ancient Egypt? We have seen that the style and iconography of Egyptian art changed with the introduction of a new religious system. Do you think that Akhenaton’s religious and artistic “revolution” was brave or foolhardy? Explain your position.

There are many conventions within Egyptian imagery that go against our own iconography. One example is the stylization and formalization of royal portraiture while making those lower on the social hierarchy more naturalistic, and presumably a closer approximation to how they might have actually looked. Some art historians have also argued that Egyptian culture was far more matricentric then once thought. They look to the importance of Hathor, the mother goddess within Egyptian culture and in examples like Double Portrait in FIGURE 3-13 as evidence. In this image we see the woman holding the man in complete reversal of how our own images of male and female coupling are depicted. the argument has been made that although the Pharaoh had absolute power, that power came from his marriage to the woman and the female line of power. If true, it shows how we privilege our current world view and transpose it to the past. Discuss these and other ways in which our interpretation and view of Egyptian art might be determined by our own cultural prerogatives.

Watch the video below prior to answering the question.

Ancient Egyptian culture provides us with immense subject matter for fantasy and entertainment. Why do you think it holds sway over our culture in ways that other civilizations do not? Is it because it is more foreign and strange than Greek and Roman culture, therefore the mystery surrounding it making it more curious and allowing our imaginations to run abound? Or is it that the monuments and artworks are so monumental?

We live in an age of incredible technological advances, with towers of glass and steel that spring to the heavens and the construction of a space station in earth’s orbit. Does it put our advances in perspective when we wonder how an ancient civilization like that in Egypt was able to construct monuments of such size with such geometric accuracy without modern machinery, mathematics or instruments? Is there an iconic structure that will represent our civilization in 4000 years

Although Pyramids are a distinct symbol of Egypt, large-scale pyramidal construction is limited to a relatively short period in the Old Kingdom of Egyptian history. What would be some reasons for the modification of pyramid scale and institution of rock-cut tombs as seen at Beni Hasan. Evaluate the effectiveness of later architecture in communicating Egyptian and Pharonic power.

Presentation, Module 05 Ethics Project, Management homework help

This week, your assignment is going to be pieced together. You have created a business, identified trending issues, identified possible other ethical issues and done your best to get all of your employees on board.

All that is left is the presentation itself. For your submission this week you are asked to put together a PowerPoint presentation for your employees with accompanying/corresponding presenter notes for your reader. The PowerPoint slide presentation itself will include what is ethically expected of your employees on a day to day basis, all identified trending issues from Module 02, and all identified possible issues from Module 03 and guidance on what actions employees should be taking in these ethical dilemmas.

Given the fact that you are not presenting this PowerPoint and because a PowerPoint cannot present itself, you are asked to include accompanying “reader/presenter” notes in the notes section below each slide. These are the key notes that describe, explain and teach what the slide is trying to convey. Please note that a PowerPoint is not generally wordy and paragraphs should not be included on a slide. The slide itself is used as a visual for the audience and the notes section, which would be read by the presenter, is where the substance comes in.

Keep in mind it is HR’s job to expose all dilemmas that may plague their company or employees and adequately educate all employees so these concerns are not encountered in the workplace.

Your PowerPoint must be creative and a minimum of 10 slides not including the introduction or the reference slide.
