Summary and Analysis Paragraphs of “Technology and Television” Articles

Now that you have read and annotated this week’s articles, please use the following steps to complete this assignment:

Step 1: Using the methods you learned about in “Active Reading Strategies,” from the Week 2 Module, type up a summary of each article. Each summary should be one paragraph, 150-300 words, and include the word count. Furthermore, be sure to introduce the author’s name, article title, and source in the first sentence of the summary. Finally, you must integrate and highlight a minimum of 2 words/phrases from the “Templates & Transitions” handout located in the Week 5 module.

Step 2: Using the methods you learned about in the “T-GAP” handout from the Week 4 Module, and the Introduction to Rhetoric lecture, type up an analysis of each article. Each analysis should be one paragraph where you identify the author’s tone, genre, audience, purpose, and rhetorical appeals, and provide your own opinion about/reaction toward that article. Consider putting key terms such as “tone” or “audience” in bold or underlining them so you can make sure you have included all of the required elements. Aim for about 150-300 words. Once again, be sure to identify the author’s name and title of the article in the paragraph. Finally, you must integrate and highlight a minimum of 2 words/phrases from the “Templates & Transitions” handout located in the Week 5 module.

Step 3: Upload your document to this assignment submission area. Your document should contain a total of 4 paragraphs.

There is a grading rubric attached to this assignment link, which you can view before you submit your assignment.

I need a poster presentation with the subject that I will be attaching.

The following attachments are the rubric to what I need for this work and I will also be attaching an example of the work my professor sent me, that way you can get an idea about what I need. It is for my Nursing Research class, therefore it has to be an article chosen related to the medical field.

All the instructions are in the files and all the information it needs to contain.

I will also be attaching 2 poster presentations powerpoint templates that you can already work with that I have downloaded, you can chose which ever one from the two i sent. Thankyou!

Gender Identity

We are socialized at every stage in life to conform to our gender identity. Societal reinforcement of tendencies of gender identity is relentless. For example, in hospitals, little girls are wrapped in pink and little boys in blue. This difference in colors influences how we learn and how we internalize our role in our society.

Girls tend to grow up to play feminine roles and boys tend to grow up to play masculine roles. This differentiation of gender identity has implications in social stratification. The videos given below will provide you with a better understanding of the differentiation of sexual identity from an earlier generation.

Search for and watch an episode of at least one of the following shows. You may find these videos using a variety of search methods including visiting your local library, using Netflix or your local video store, or searching on YouTube. If you have difficulty locating an episode of one of the following shows, contact your instructor for assistance in finding an alternative.

  • I Love Lucy
  • All in the Family
  • The Mickey Mouse Club
  • The Honeymooners
  • Leave it to Beaver
  • Father Knows Best
  • Gilligan’s Island
  • The Brady Bunch
  • I Dream of Jeannie

As you watch the video, ask yourself the following questions:

  • To what extent have things changed and to what extent have they remained the same in regards to gender roles, expectations, division, and identity from the time this show was originally popular and today?
  • How conscious and sensitive are the characters regarding gender prejudice, power inequality, and subordination?
  • Did they take inequality of the sexes for granted?

Based on your readings and understanding that you have gathered after watching the above-noted video, write a short biographical description of your life if you were to wake up tomorrow morning in the time period of the video you watched and find you have a different gender identity. Write a description of how you lived your life a day after your hypothetical change in gender as you answer the following questions:

  • Discuss how you would react on finding out that your sex is opposite. Would you feel a sense of relief, indifference, or elation? Why?
  • Discuss three ways your attitude towards the opposite sex was enlightened or would change as a result of what you learned from this project. If you would not change your attitude, why?
  • Write down the ideas and attitudes you have taken for granted a member of your actual gender. Consider how your roles at home and in the office would change if you were a member of the opposite gender.
  • Relate the ideas of sexism and racism to the videos. How do you think sexism and racism have changed since the 1950s?

By the due date assigned, deliver your assignment to the Submissions Area.

Organizational Structure and Culture Case

This assignment focuses on the importance of organizational structure and its possible impact on employees. After finishing with the Background page and readings, go to the following interview with Rosabeth Moss Kanter, who is a renowned Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and an influential business advisor. Among other things, in this interview she talks about the evolution of changes in organizational structure in the past decades, and the link to employees’ well-being and functioning.

Required Reading

Puffer, S. (2004) Changing organizational structures: An interview with Rosabeth Moss Kanter. Academy of Management Executive, 18(2).

The following article looks at changing organizational structures as open systems and the effect on managers:

Buhler, P. M. (2011). Changing organizational structures and their impact on managers. Supervision, 72(2), 24-26.

Write a 4- to 5-page critique answering the questions below.

  • An organization’s structure can have significant effects on its members. What might those effects be? Analyze the behavioral implications of different organizational designs and use at least two examples.
  • Is it possible to generalize and say that a certain structure is better than others? That is, is there a structure that is superior in terms of its effects on its members? Take a stand and defend your comments with references to the concepts in the readings in this module and any previous modules that you find relevant. Demonstrate that you have read, understood, and can apply the background materials by citing them in support of your analysis.

Philosophical understanding of globalization

Use only peer reviewed references please.

Write a 1500 word APA style research paper that discusses the topic of international expansion. Your focus should be to build a philosophical understanding of globalization and it potential for business as well as for opening opportunities for faith expression. The research must include the following points:

(a) Identify a specific product or service that you would be a benefit to market to another part of the world outside of the North American market.
(b) Discuss some of the challenges and issues on expanding into other parts of the world, as are mentioned in the first few chapters of the text: the differences of international vs. domestic business; compelling reasons for entering foreign markets; scope and impact of trade; etc.
(c) Examine and discuss some of the current challenges facing a potential country in which you would consider expansion, whether they be financial, economic, or cultural. But you should stay fairly broad in your approach.

(d) Verbalize a Biblical perspective on the impact of globalization on business opportunities. This is meant to be your opportunity to integrate your view of faith and business. See some of the references to “Business as Mission” in the references.
(e) Articulate your personal position on international expansion i.e., are you for, against or take a balanced view of international expansion, include several examples to support your position.

Note: The last sentence in part d in the directions, states “See some of the references to “Business as Mission” in the references.” You can use the Christian Broadcast Network sites as resources for this, such as http://www1.cbn.com/six-ways-get-involved-business-missions-movement-0 or searching at http://www1.cbn.com/cbn-search?search_term=Business%20as%20Missions&site=default_collection

Strategic Supply Chain Management

Focus of the Final Paper

Strategic Warehouse Management, Inc. (SWM) is a U.S. based warehousing organization in the construction and management of warehouse operations. The CEO’s market development team has determined that there is an opportunity to open a warehouse in Australia that could serve multiple businesses. The CEO plans to open a “non-resident company” (Land and Tax News, 2012). The CEO has also decided that the warehouse can be opened in any city in Australia. Some clients in Australia have also asked SWM to manage the flow of goods from Australia to U.S. locations. The CEO wants to get a preliminary plan developed as soon as possible before going further.

The CEO asked you to design a supply chain that includes warehouse operations in any city in Australia. In addition, the CEO has a number of items he’d like to see you cover in the report. He has asked you to:

  • Develop requirements for the warehouse design and to provide an organization structure to manage the warehouse in Australia.
  • Present considerations for Workforce Management
  • Investigate key regulations and other key issues (e.g. labor climate) related to managing a warehouse in Australia as a foreign entity.
  • Develop export procedures and import procedures in the U.S.
  • Discuss supply chain risks and possible mitigations.
  • Analyze which operations SWM would outsource and which operations SWM would directly manage and explain why.
  • Outline the budget line items that would need to be considered (it is not necessary to develop a budget with dollar figures).
  • Determine the metrics you would use to measure success of the warehouse and the total supply chain.

Your report should be an eight to ten page APA style paper (not including the title and reference pages) and submitted to the CEO (your instructor) by the last day of the class. You are required to include at least 6 scholarly sources
