Managing a teams resources

Your team has been humming along for a little over a week now. The conflicts that appeared last week seem to have subsided. However, your supervisor has just informed you that the deadline for completing your team’s goal has been moved up by two weeks. You now have less time to complete the same amount of work. Your supervisor has asked for a short summary on your plan for achieving the goal within your shortened timeline.

Write a 350- to 525-word summary on how you will manage the team’s resources in the face of these new timelines. Answer the following questions in your summary:

  • How many people are on your team? What are their roles? What are their skill sets? How can these be rearranged to meet the new requirements?
  • Are there enough human resources to complete the project two weeks earlier? If not, how can you increase the team’s capacity?
  • Are there aspects of the project that can be condensed or skipped? What are the implications of skipping or condensing tasks?
  • Are there costs to be considered with these changes?
  • How can you leverage what you’ve learned about solving problems in teams to meet the new project requirements?
  • How do you intend to communicate the new requirements to the team in order to gain their buy-in?

Based on your exeperience about nature

Spend thirty minutes IN NATURE–go to the ocean, a nearby lake or reservoir,

or keep it simple and go to the fountain on campus by the Flint center.

What do you feel by being in nature? What is your relationship to the

natural world? How does your connection, or lack of connection, make you

feel about protecting the environment? ( I am located in Santa Clara, California )

Reply to these comments (150 words each):

Rules :

1. Each post MUST BE three or more sentences. This includes your posts in response to other student posts.

2.
Each post must be detailed. It is not enough to simply write, “I agree
with you” or “I like your idea.” You must say WHY you agree or like
someone’s ideas.

3. Write in complete, standard English sentences. Do not “text.” Poorly written posts will not be considered for a grade.

4. If you disagree with someone’s post, politely do so. Explain why you disagree with facts and details.

5. If you agree with someone, build on the ideas.

6.
You can reply to someone who had replied to your original post; this
will count as another of your required postings for the assignment.

7. Be kind, respectful, and curious toward other students.

8.
The instructor reserves the right to delete any post that is offensive,
intolerant, or not sufficiently academic for a college-level course.

Yinjie Liu :

As far back as I can remember, I
like the feeling when I being in nature. I constantly spend my time on
outside activities since it was so beneficial for me. I can totally
leave away from the social world and find myself suddenly combine with
the nature. There are no trends, influences, or expectations. I enjoy to
breathe the fresh air in a nicer weather, which make me feel joyful, and
this is perhaps the most
obvious reason for me to get outside. Obviously, we should take actions
to protect the environment in order to have a clean world.

Ratna Kahsyap :

This week I spent some alone
time out side and as I am looking around my surrounding environment I
come to realize how lucky we are to have beautiful scenery around
us. Cupertino is located in the middle of the silicon valley. Which is
surrounded by mountains and beautiful trees. When I am around
nature, I feel I am at peace without any disturbance. My relationship
with nature is special because it is a very authentic feeling when you
are alone and its just you and nature and you start to appreciate
what mother nature blesses us with . Even in the mist of natural
disasters, we always will have something to look forward to . I
believe we need to work on climate change and save our natural
environment because without nature life will not go on.

Annotated Bibliography for A Research Paper

Based on the research question, write a thesis statement and find three sources for a Research Paper. Then write three annotated bibliography for each source.

Research Question:

– How has the view of bodies of women challenged the stereotyped concepts through fashion in the society?

– How has the ideal body image of women changed differently between Asian countries and European countries back to the 20th century?

Possible resources include: newspaper articles (in print or online), academic papers, academic abstracts, or other resources that you can find on the databases or Google Scholar. NO Wikipedia or blog entries will be accepted.

Below is the format for each annotated bibliography:

FORMAT OF AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

An annotated bibliographic citation is made up of two parts:

The citation (Chicago Manual of Style formatted citation)

The annotation – a 4–6 sentence critical summary of the work.

o Describe the content of the source

o Mention why it is useful

o Indicate strengths and/or weaknesses of the source

o Evaluate the overall reliability of the source; to do this, look at:

– The author’s conclusions and how he/she arrived at them

– The references they consulted

o Describe your reaction to the source

– The annotation is continuous with the source listing (i.e., there are no spaces or

paragraph indentations in between the source and its annotation).

Application of a Process Tool

As we learned in our readings this week, all work in healthcare can
be evaluated using process analysis tools. Although several process
tools are available, a particular tool is often more suited to a certain
process than the others.

In Week 1, you identified and described a quality, safety, or performance improvement issue. In Week 2,
you examined the research available on the selected improvement issue.
This week, you will examine the issue using a process tool.

Week 3 Tasks

Using the assigned textbook reading in Advanced Performance Improvement in Health Care: Principles and Methods, the South University Online Library, and the Internet, write a 3–4-page paper.

Cover the following:

  • Examine the selected improvement issue using one of the process tools.
  • Give reasons for your selection of the particular tool.
  • Create a diagram for the process tool with as much detail as
possible. (You may create the diagram in the word processor, in a
graphics software, or scan a hand-drawn image.)
  • Provide conclusions on the use of the process tool, including
redundancies, misunderstandings, or inefficiencies in current systems
    and possible actions to consider.

Be sure to support your statements with scholarly references and appropriate examples.

Use of Informants

Introduction

Probable cause is very time- and place-specific, and information used in an investigation to generate a search warrant must be current. Law enforcement must be able to establish that evidence of a crime may be found at that time and in a certain place. In United States v. Leon (1984), the Court held that 5-month-old information from an informant is “stale” and cannot be used to establish probable cause. However, in the same case, the Court did not specify how much time may elapse between the informant’s observation and the issuing of a warrant, but instead stated that the issue of staleness “must be determined by the circumstances of each case.”

Instructions

In your main post:

  • Assume the role of a law enforcement officer and identify the challenges inherent in evaluating staleness from the circumstances of the United States v. Leon case.
  • Discuss two situations where evidence would not be stale even after the passage of a considerable length of time.
  • Explain how the digital era has redefined the issue of evidence staleness.

Risk management is a huge concept that the U.S army

STUDENT 1: Mike,

Risk management is a huge concept that the U.S army also utilizes extensively. In the case of the Manchester United Soccer Tournament project team, we have already identified the risks. Next, we would move to step two and assess the risk using a numerical number and risk assessment form. We would individualize each risk into an event and find the likelihood, impact and detection in which the risk will occur. Third, we would then develop mitigation measures to prevent the risk from occurring. Finally, we would develop contingency measure in case the risk occurs. Mitigating the risk is way more effective to help reduce risk than a contingency plan.

We then will mitigate risk (avoid/accept) for each event and develop a contingency plan for each.

1. Referees failing to show up at designated games: Avoid, we will want to mitigate this risk since there is a high impact on the game. Without the referees the game cannot be conducted. Mitigation of the risk would be to contact each referee to double check to ensure they will be available for the game. The contingency plan would be to have additional referees on stand-by to stand in if needed.

2. Fighting between teams: Accept, it is unknown if the players will get into fights onto the field.

3. Pivotal error committed by a referee that determines the outcome of a game: Avoid, ensure that the referees are certified and re-certified when warranted. Contingency plan, have the required documentation, rules and a camera ready to investigate referees call.

4. Abusive behavior along the sidelines by parents: Accept, unlikely this will occur and the impact that it will have on the match will not greatly impact the game. Contingency, would have the parents thrown out of the game when behavior is unsuitable.

5. Inadequate parking: Avoid, participants in the game along with spectators need places to park. Mitigation call participants to schedule car pool. Contingency, develop a shuttle service.

6. Not enough teams sign up for different age brackets: Avoid, without teams and players no match can be played. Mitigation, provide advertisement for the league and ensure the widest dissemination. Contingency, players age bracket levels will be expanded,

7. Serious Injury: Avoid, serious injury could have legal consequences that might have an impact on the organization. Mitigation, ensure players know the rules and do’s and don’ts of the sport. Remind them that safety is the number one priority. Contingency, have a certified medical attendant for each game to treat and evaluate possible injuries.

STUDENT 2: Scott

Manchester United Soccer Tournamanet project team has identified a number of risks to their project. Having completed the first two steps of risk management Identify and assess they need to complete the third step of risk response development. The first risk of Referees failing to show up at designated games can be mitigated by creating a contingency plan of having extra referees on call or actually standing by in case one doesn’t show up. Fighting between teams seems like a retained risk that cant really be avoided, or the impact could also be mitigated by hiring security gaurds. Pivotal error committed by a referree that determines the outcome of a game could be mitigated by a better vetting program of potential referees which may involve an increase in cost, it could also just be a retained risk. Abusive behavior along the sidelines by parents could be mitigated by hiring security gaurds, hiring securtiy gaurds could then solve two risk problems. Inadequate parking should have a contingency plan involving securing extra parking from a private business or on the side of the road, possibly coordinating with the city and police to shut down an adjacent street for parking on game days. Not enough teams sign up for different age brackets, could be mitigated by having a way to manipulate the brackets so teams could play a different age brack for example one up or one down. Serious injury is a risk that could be transferred by liability insurance and requiring parents to sign a waiver relieving the organization of liability.

ENG 102 Week 8 Discussion

Your initial post should be 75-150 words in length, and is due on Sunday. By Tuesday, you should respond to two additional posts from your peers.

Reflection

For our final week, please go back and look at the objectives for this course as outlined in the syllabus. Now, discuss your efforts and progress in meeting these objectives. Answer the following questions:

  • What assignments, lectures, or discussions have been most meaningful to you in understanding the definitions and purposes of rhetoric?
  • What assignments have helped you the most in finding and using sources?
  • What assignments have been the most challenging?
  • What does it mean to “be rhetorical”? Review the definition you wrote initially in the W1 discussion.
  • Has your understanding of rhetoric changed during the last eight weeks? If so, how?

Understand that mastering writing is an ongoing process and is something every writer works on for the rest of his or her life. You don’t have to feel you’ve mastered it all now or even made tremendous strides (though it’s great if you have). However, an honest self-appraisal can show how far you’ve come and what areas to focus on, going forward.
