Living In New Zealand

Imagine traveling to a country that you never visited before. For the sake of this example, let us imagine this country is New Zealand.

First of all, find out on a world map where New Zealand is. Then tackle the following questions:

  1. How do you learn the societal do’s and don’t s, some of which were outlined in Mr. Riccardi’s TEDx video you watched? For instance, do New Zealanders stand in a well-organized queue when waiting or not? Do they live in a strongly structured society (i.e. Norway) or in a society where rules are broken as easily as they are made (i.e. Italy?). Provide suitable examples and explanations.
  2. What do you think are the historical reasons for the type of societal structure that exists in New Zealand?

Write at least a two-page short essay that fully addresses the questions asked above.

CA paper in two parts: (A) in about 250 words, (B) in about 250 words

submit a brief weekly CA paper in two parts: (A) in about 250 words, summarize the weekly chapter and the required supplemental media (e.g., a reading, a video); upon synthesizing these, what essential substance did you take from the readings? (B) in about 250 words, consider a problem of social and personal responsibility with respect to the substance of the readings and describe your own feminist activist approach to solving it; these solutions should be as specific and action oriented as possible (e.g., don’t be afraid to use the word “I”) but grounded in understanding that oppression is a structural problem. These CA papers (10 overall) should be carefully considered, but they can be as informal in voice as you prefer. Please type and double space all CA papers.

Written Exercise

Write 3-5 pages. MLA format.

You may use outside scholarly sources for this paper.

We do think we know the Revolutionary War. We grow up hearing about it year
after year in class, and celebrate our foundings with fireworks every July 4th
.
And yet, much of what we believe we know is not true. What is the traditional
story of this era? How does the picture of our “founding fathers” painted by
Zinn, Loewen, Brands and Lepore differ from the stories we often learn in
history courses? Indeed, after completing the assignments over the War for
Independence and the creation of the constitution, what do you believe this era
was truly about? What does Zinn argue the ultimate causes of the war and the
drafting of the constitution to be? Do you agree with him? Why or why not? And
what are the far-reaching consequences for us today of the continuing
mythologies surrounding this time and how they are canonized in the popular
mind?

Directions:

1) Your response to the question must be typed—twelve point font, double-spaced.
In writing your answer, please do not exceed five pages.

2) In your response, try to mainly use only your assigned text(s), the instructor’s
handouts, or class notes taken from discussions. You may use additional
library or internet scholarly sources.

3) Your generalizations must be supported by direct citations from the text, class
notes, or instructor’s handouts.

4) Citations should be made in MLA format. For class notes or presentations, you
might use: (Discussion Board 1) or (class notes) or (Zinn 23).
Note: You must cite parenthetically throughout your narrative. Please follow this format. There
should be many citations throughout your response taken from the sources noted above because
assumptions and interpretations must be bolstered by citations.
The strength of your response is dependent largely upon your citation of the assigned sources.

5) Do not include a bibliography.

6) You may consult with your classmates in formulating an answer to this question.
However, you must write your own, unique, independent answer to this question.

Ethical Issues Law Enforcement Punishment

The following word count and source requirements are applicable. A minimum of 250 words (main post) and two scholarly sources. The essay checklist much be filled out as well.Utilitarian philosopher Jeremy Bentham once argued that “all punishment is evil” –“evil” being anything people do not want inflicted upon them. According to Bentham, the moral reality of punishment is that punishment is an evil that we intentionally inflict on other human beings. If we try to understand his viewpoint, then how can we justify intentionally inflicting evil upon criminals? What justifications might exist for dealing with criminal offenders in ways other than punishment?

Students have asked me about what an introduction would look like for essay #3. Please see attached for introductions and the first body paragraph from some student samples of a literature review, one step in the process of writing the research paper, in Professor Mikolavich’s class (he’s developed the assignment working together with Professor Fischer). While these are not exactly the research paper, the students write with style and a unique voice to engage the readers, something you should strive for in your essay.

Choice 1: Describe this assignment, Essay 3 “Creative Research Paper” and how it is similar to and different from other assignments you have had. What are the basic requirements? What is your critical question? How might you organize different components, such as a review of the literature and field work?

Choice 2: Look again at the Student Samples excerpted from Proteus papers in Professor Fischer’s class. In particular, look at the interviews conducted for sample 1 and 2. For each one, how do you think this could be integrated into the overall research paper? Remember that these are actual excerpts from the papers.

Choice 3: Look again at the Student Samples excerpted from Proteus papers in Professor Fischer’s class. In particular, look at the interviews conducted for sample 3 and 5. For each one, how do you think this could be integrated into the overall research paper? Remember that these are actual excerpts from the papers.

Choice 4: Look again at the Student Samples excerpted from Proteus papers in Professor Fischer’s class. In particular, look at the interviews conducted for sample 6 and 7. For each one, how do you think this could be integrated into the overall research paper? Remember that these are actual excerpts from the papers.

Choice 5: Given the circumstance that your topic doesn’t lend itself well to observation or participation (for field work), you may need to write a fictional account based on the facts that you can find out. Look again at the Student Samples excerpted from Proteus papers in Professor Fischer’s class. In particular, look at the fictional reconstruction of the experience of an arranged marriage in sample 4, based on a photograph and family stories. How do you think this could be integrated into the overall research paper? Remember that these are actual excerpts from the papers. If you need to write a story for your participation/observation, how will you go about this? What factual evidence and research will you base this upon?

Choice 6: For the document Sample 1, “The Passive Problem,” look at the introduction and first body paragraph. How does Aidan make the introduction engaging and creative? How does he integrate his research in the body paragraph to support the main points of the paper? What would you say are the thesis statement and topic sentence(s), whether stated explicitly or implied?

Choice 7: For the document Sample 2, look at the introduction and first body paragraph. How does Maddie make the introduction engaging and creative? How does she integrate her research in the body paragraph to support the main points of the paper? What would you say are the thesis statement and topic sentence(s), whether stated explicitly or implied?

Choice 8: For the document, Sample 3, “A Culture of Scarcity,” look at the introduction and first body paragraph. How does Wendy make the introduction engaging and creative? How does she integrate her research in the body paragraph to support the main points of the paper? What would you say are the thesis statement and topic sentence(s), whether stated explicitly or implied?

peer’s post:( should write a paragraphs to response)

Choice 1:

Essay 3 tested on the ability to think creatively, beyond exhibiting the usual conventional research skills. The professor required me to show a deeper knowledge on the subject of my choice, by using a unique approach. For the first time in my school life, I went out to the field and did an interview for my classwork. I found the paper different from other research papers because I did not have to follow the normal academic format of writing a research paper. Normally, research papers require some paper structure such as abstract, introduction, limitations, result, among others. Often, I find research papers too serious and dismissive of personal reflections and observations. For this research, I found it exciting to be able to incorporate my observation using a first-person perspective. I have encountered research papers that used interviews but were evasive of personal observation. However, in essay 3, I was free to incorporate my interview in the research paper. I did not use the normal research structure which requires that the paper follows a specific outline. The similarity between essay 3 and other papers is that in both, we are required to use credible sources.

The basic requirements for this assignment were to write 6 to 8 pages of paper on any topic of my choice. It required me to incorporate a different kind of research, by conducting an interview, making observations, and also showing my participation. I would then incorporate my findings to the overall research paper supported by other library research sources. By departing from the ordinary research writing, I enjoyed doing the assignment.

My critical question for the assignment was: “Are the high rates of violence and mass shootings in the U.S related to gun control laws?”. I designed a questionnaire for my interview although I had to adjust while admitting it to my respondent. I borrowed an idea from the sample, Today Tracy, Tomorrow the World to include my interview in the research. I then incorporated the sources in a series of reflections to support my argument. I also incorporated a personal reflection to further strengthen my argument.

Help with Lesson 10 writing a short play

Lesson 10 Assignment: You’re a
playwright!

Writing Assignment:  You’re a playwright!
You have been so inspired by this course that you’ve decided to become a
playwright.  Write 2 pages of dialogue for a scene in your
play. Include set directions and a brief description of the
characters. The scene you prepare must be based on your major.  For
example: Business students could write on disagreements with a vendor, or
trying to attract investors.  Health Care students could write on telling
patients lab test results, discussing treatment options with a patient, or
debating patient care with peers/insurance companies, or hospital
administration.  Education majors could develop a scene about registering
for an already-full class, a discussion between students and teachers, and so
forth.

I will provide more details about the play once a tutor has been assigned – Thanks

Summarize your peers’ evaluations, writing homework help

Summarize your peers’ evaluations of your own drafts and your plans for revisionand post them in this discussion. Respond to the following prompts in summarizing your peers’ evaluations of your Resume and Letter drafts. 1. What areas of your drafts are strongest? According to your peers (not you), what are the strengths of your drafts? Offer specific details. 2. What needs to be improved? According to your peers (not you), how do you need to improve your drafts before submitting the final versions? 3. Briefly describe your plans for revising and improving your drafts according to your peers’ assessments and recommendations. How will you revise your drafts to meet your peers’ expectations, the assignment’s requirements, and professional standards?

There are peers’ evaluations in the following below. I will attach my resume and letter draft. Write about 300 words.

First Person

I think that your drafts for both your cover letter and resume are off to a good start! As I read over both of your drafts, I noticed a few spelling/grammatical errors. I would recommend re reading both copies before you turn in your final draft. For your resume, I would recommend you go over spacing, there seems to be some extra spacing in between your different sections, which could also help you get your resume fitting on just a single page. I would also recommend that you add a bit more description to each section of your resume, just to give your future employer that much more knowledge about you and your background (in bullet format). You could even add a section regarding the specific course work you’ve taken thus far.

For your letter, the format looks good. I would recommend that you single space the very beginning information regarding where your applying to and the return address. I think you could eliminate the part where you say you don’t know much about the Real Estate business but hope to gain more if you get hired in. You want your future employer to believe you are fit for the position you’re asking for and I believe that sentence isn’t needed. Overall, you have a great start!

Second person

Hello I thought both your resume and cover letter look pretty good so far. First off for your resume I would suggest fixing your spacing throughout the entire document. From double spacing in between bullet points, I would put it to single space so that your resume can fit on one single page. I also noticed a couple of grammar errors in your resume, I would suggest looking back at and fixing. I also noticed you don’t have any previous work experience listed. Was it left out intentionally?

For your cover letter I thought it looked good. I would suggest having single space instead of double spacing for the heading. Another thing I would suggest looking back at is in your first paragraph mentioning the position you want to apply for at the start. Then proceed with mentioning what skills you can bring to their company.

Overall great job!
