Blog: “Ah-Ha” Moments

If you as a prospective researcher have only a vague sense of a problem you want to investigate, a good way to start would be to conduct an overview of the topic.

—Merriam, 2009

As the quotation suggests, literature reviews are often used to further explore a problem within a field. Through conducting a review of the literature, the researcher will gain insight on the topic and then will be able to revise the focus and research questions of the study. For this blog, you reflect on your experience conducting a literature review and consider any insights you gained from your experience.

Post an explanation of your “ah-ha” moment in how literature can help you frame your research question. Then, explain how you might apply your new knowledge in future research experiences.

In addition, the chapter includes an overview of the writing process, information on style manuals, and tips for writing.

The following articles provide examples of well-written literature reviews.

World View Analysis and Personal Inventory: explain the Christian perspective of the nature of spirituality and ethics in contrast to the perspective of postmodern relativism within health care.

During this paper, please remember that I am a Christian and have already created posts mentioning my belief. So my answers must flow with this belief. Here is my posting so you have some insight on my beliefs:

Q: What would spirituality be according to your own worldview? How do you believe that your conception of spirituality would influence the way in which you care for patients?

A:”Spirituality is felt in your soul and in your spirit. I believe spirituality is the way you act and make decisions based on what you feel is the right thing to do. I was raised Christian and have continued with this faith all throughout my life. No, I am not the “perfect” role model but I believe there is a God who will judge my thoughts and my actions, so I practice benevolence and give all glory to him. If you ask me, there is a right and there is a wrong. The tricky decisions are when you run into an ethical dilemma; in which I base my decision with help from the 10 commandments.

My conception of spirituality allows me to treat my patients in a holistic manner. I strive to do what is best for my patients. I am not selfish in the way that I will purposely leave my patient unchanged or without timely medication for selfish rewards such as leaving home on time. This is because my spirituality will not allow me to only think of myself. As a nurse I have a duty to advocate for my patient and my worldview is that we should always support one another and lend a hand when we are able to do so. I believe you get in return what you put out into the world. The way I care for my patients is how I would want my nurse to care for me.”

Based on the required topic study materials, write a reflection about worldview and respond to following:

  1. In 250-300 words, explain the Christian perspective of the nature of spirituality and ethics in contrast to the perspective of postmodern relativism within health care.
  2. In 250-300 words, explain what scientism is and describe two of the main arguments against it.
  3. In 750-1,000 words, answer each of the worldview questions according to your own personal perspective and worldview: (a) What is ultimate reality? (b) What is the nature of the universe? (c) What is a human being? (d) What is knowledge? (e) What is your basis of ethics? (f) What is the purpose of your existence?

Remember to support your reflection with the topic study materials.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Help with childcare

The final part of the NAEYC code of ethical conduct deals with the childcare center as a part of the community and society. Here is an excerpt:

Ideals (Collective)
I-4.2 To promote cooperation among professionals and agencies and interdisciplinary collaboration among professions concerned with addressing issues in the health, education, and well-being of young children, their families, and their early childhood educators.

For your initial post on this week’s discussion board you will need to plan two ways of connecting with the larger community. The first one should focus on the center as a whole it could be a health fair of carnival and the second should be on a smaller scale for one specific age group or class of children. Need 5 sentences.

Why is it important for teachers to understand students’ culture and backgrounds in an effort to address challenging behavior?

Why do you think it is so important to develop a relationship with every young child (especially a child with challenging behavior)? How will you work to develop this relationship?

The Price of Freedom, History Assignment Homework Help

I will send you the chapter related to this assignment. Please cite within the answer using (Foner, pg #).

This is the website you will be using to post the three exhibit highlights.

http://amhistory.si.edu/militaryhistory/exhibition/flash.html

The Smithsonian Institution is the national repository of the rich history we have surveyed in our course. If you are a citizen of the U.S., then your tax money supports it. You are helping to maintain the record of America’s past.

The Museum is an amazing resource. In this, our final Discussion of the semester (yes, you made it), I invite you to visit its pages on the Civil War. Some of the best of these are collected in the exhibit — The Price of Freedom

First, be sure to set aside at least 30 minutes of your time to fully take in this exhibit. If you can, set aside more or…bookmark the page and return to it throughout the week. It will repay your careful study tenfold, and it will do this through photos, video, timelines, and text.

Before you immerse yourself in the site, be sure you come to it having read the chapter for this week and the documents I’ve posted under the Resource Tab. These will deepen your understanding of the conflict and permit you to peer deeper into the depths of the U.S.’s true founding moment.

As you move from webpage to webpage (slowly, keeping your eye out for drop-down menus and pop-up boxes: the site is RICH), list and discuss at least three parts of the exhibit (an image, map, audio clip) that you feel go beyond the Foner text and link up to the key themes of Chapter 14. How does your document or fact or event flesh out these themes and add depth to our understanding of the past? If another student has already written about the image or information you wish to stress, find another: the site is large.

At all times, question the evidence that you come upon. Look for contradictions, confusions. Stay alert to what is NOT being presented as well, to what is “conspicuous by its absence.”

When you’re ready, click here — Price of Freedom Link — to start your quest. A page will appear that will list the major wars in U.S. history. Click on the link to the Civil War.

But remember to return here to post your three exhibit highlights .
