Research Proposal

You will use a combination of scholarly, professional, government, and mass media sources to build your argument. You will use APA format and include a references page

My topic as of right night (but can be narrowed down) is “how did the Great Recession in 2008 psychologically affect college students while attending college?” and I want to create a study with different methodologies that have been used in other researches in order to implement the necessary changes (maybe a budgeting class). My audience will be the counselors that work around mental health.

In the proposal, you are making recommendations about a problem that still needs to be addressed in your area, a problem that is only partially resolved, or detailing a gap in the current research (that if known, might provide a solution to an already existing problem). The proposal genre is generally used to ask for money or resources to find an answer to the suggested problem, so you are persuading your audience that a problem does exist and that you have a potential, even if partial, solution, to the problem. You make an argument that the problem does exist in the literature review section.

You show the way that you will find an answer to the problem you have argued exists in the process section, your plan of action section. What type of tools or equipment would you need? What type of procedures would be useful and appropriate? What instrumentation and measures would you need? Would you conduct surveys, interviews, focus groups, statistical analysis, a review of government data?

Proposal Requirement:

Title: A descriptive statement of the project.

• Literature review: Explain your scholarly question and provide a rationale for your project. Include a narrative review of appropriate literature with in-text citations. What is your question and why is it significant?

• Process: Describe your project design and methods. Include a description of materials and equipment necessary to complete the project. What will you do to answer your question?

• Expected outcomes: Describe the anticipated outcomes, products and/or results of your project and its contribution to the scholarly community. What will you produce? How will your results be disseminated in your field?

• References: Include complete reference list of works cited and consulted in the style most appropriate to the discipline.

Initial research proposal: 2-3 pages;

For this initial proposal, I expect to see:

• sections that are somewhat unfocused, but areas where connections are being made between sections.

• relevant, credible sources being cited, even though these sources might not be fully integrated at this stage

• a sense of audience, even if the audience is conceived in broad terms at this stage

• an attempt at making an argument based on the current version of the research question. Again, the argument might not be complex, but it should show engagement with the research.

Select one (1) of the religions we have studied with which you were least familiar before you started the course. Create a four to six (4-6) page brochure, newsletter, or presentation in which you focus on one of the significant ways that the beliefs and practices of the religion are demonstrated today: festivals OR meditation OR rites of passage.

The Personal and Familial Experience of MH and Addictions

  • Write a 1 to 2 pages APA format
  • Please watch the following and write the paper based on that
  • Based on your research, class readings, exercises, and guest speakers describe the following:
  • What
was personally most striking to you? Why do you think this was so?
  • Identify
and describe three themes in consumers’ and/or their families’ experiences.
  • Imagine
that you are a counselor in a community or private practice organization and you have just
    become the organization’s director.

  • Identify three ways in which you would change the program or services provided
based on what you now know about the experiences,
knowledge, and needs of the people whom the program serves.

I suggest using a three-ring binder to store your journal entries after they have been read and graded.

Each journal entry should contain several paragraphs, written in your own words, and should conform with the following format:

  1. Summary
  • Write from memory, noting what you recall as the main ideas of the reading.
  1. 2.Integration
  • In your own words, how does this reading “connect” (amplify, contradict, substantiate, etc.) to other information about this topic? The other information may be in the form of other readings, news stories, or images of the police portrayed in popular culture.
  • What do you see as the implications of the ideas covered in the reading?
  1. 3.Application
  • How can you use the information in this reading?
  • Does the reading change your view of some aspect of policing? Explain.
  • If you think there is no application for the material, say so. However, provide a rationale for your position.
  1. 4.Evaluation
  • Describe your reaction to the reading (like, dislike, etc.). Why?
  • Who is the appropriate audience for this reading? Why?
  • What would make the reading more useful?

5. Essay question

  • Create an essay question based on the reading that requires critical thinking (comparing, analyzing, evaluating, critiquing, justifying, etc.). The question.

Must be journal and do not copy from the internet. I attached the chapters in the attachment.

We will use the journal entries in class as a catalyst for reflection, making connections among ideas and topics, and as a means of demonstrating knowledge of concepts, ideas and important points.

Final 8 page Rhetorical Analysis

This paper is similar to the ones you’ve already written, but must be at least 8 pages, and must use at least 4 sources in addition to the essay you focus on.

Writing me an essay which is only a summary, or only focuses on the larger argument will have bad results. You must understand, and focus on, the rhetoric.

“RIP, the Middle Class” by Edward McClelland

You may analyze the essay a number of ways. Here are a few of the most effective:

Compare to other essays on the same topic by others. Sometimes you can find articles that

respond directly to yours, other times you will have to find pieces which are simply on the same

topic. Who is more logical? Who uses more or better evidence? Who is more fair? Who is more

qualified?

Look, in depth, at the appeals (rational/emotional/ethical) that the author uses to make their

arguments. Are they fair, honest, persuasive?

Look at the logic used in the essay. Does the author use any logical fallacies? How do you know

it’s a fallacy?

Training and Development

It is important as a human resource professional that training and development is provided to the employees of the organization. It is important to keep the organization moving forward, and a major part of this process is to ensure that all employees are receiving training, and are developing within their careers. By doing this many long term positive effects can be achieved for the organization and its staff (Pynes, 2013).

One from of training that can be provided is the use of case studies. A case study is an event from the past that is broken down into parts, so that people can learn from it. The case study shows what went right to even things that were bad. Case Study are important in training, because the allow people to talk about an issue and learn from the past. A person could also learn to do something differently from a case study. They take real life events and make it a teachable moment (Pynes, 2013).

A great example, of a development method would be team building exercise. The development comes from a group of people learner to work as one, and getting to know each other. A group learns the strengths and weakness of the different members, and learn to work as one to get through different challenges. This type of development is extremely valuable for both the employee and the organization (Scudamore, 2016).

Language Interactions Experience Discussion

Plan to spend about 30 minutes to an hour in a preschool setting. A good time to observe would be during circle time, independent learning time, or during free choice time. If this is not an option, please view the video, Five Basic Functions of Language (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., found in Chapter 7 of your text.

Describe the interactions and the language experiences that are taking place in the social setting. Refer to Chapter 7 for various examples of ways this can be seen in the classroom. Record your observations in a professional manner, maintaining the confidentiality of the site and the teachers’ and students’ real names. Use your observations to write an analysis of the language experiences that were observed.

In your discussion post, be sure to include your actual observation notes as well as a 150- to 250-word analysis that is supported by reference(s) to the textbook.

For your analysis, discuss:

  1. What experiences support language acquisition?
  2. What experiences/interactions need refinement?

You will rely on the information you have gained thus far, as well as your insights, to evaluate the above questions. Be sure to format all in-text citations and reference(s) in APA style.

can only toto help?

In this unit you explored assessments. Explain your understanding of the importance of reliability and validity in relation to assessments and inventories. If you are considering using an assessment for a diverse client, describe the process you would use to determine if the assessment is appropriate for that particular client. Consider in your post, whether the assessments you completed in this unit were appropriate, accurate, and valuable for you as well.
