Inter-Rater Reliability

Reliability is very important to consider in research studies. There are
many different types of reliability and one type is called inter-rater
reliability. Inter-rater reliability studies are often conducted when
you have more than one person who will be evaluating and scoring data.
If inter-rater reliability is high, then different people are recording
approximately the same values for the behavior they are evaluating.

Many of you are familiar with Albert Bandura’s Bobo doll experiment in
1961. Bandura was a proponent of the social learning theory. In his
experiment, he attempted to determine if children would model aggressive
behavior.

Let’s say you are planning to conduct a modern-day social learning study
and plan to record and rate the aggressive interactions after children
have watched acts of violence on television. The potential acts of
aggression will be rated from video tapes of the children as they play
with a life-sized, blow-up toy. Before you conduct your study, you must
train your four research assistants to make sure that they are
identifying the same behaviors and end up with the same scores.

Create a report in a 2- to 3-page Microsoft Word document with a
detailed description explaining how to train the assistants so that they
have high inter-rater reliability. Search the South University Online
Library to find some inter-rater reliability studies and see if you can
get any ideas. Make sure you operationalize aggression before you start
to explain your training plan. Be specific about what your research
assistants should do to increase the similarity of their rating scores.
Submit the reliability training plan for your research assistants.

Delegation – The Root of Practice

Chapter 1a – Assignment

SCENARIO

Nancy, a registered nurse, has recorded a telephone order from the attending physician to administer one unit of blood to Baby Robby, a pediatric patient. She delegates this order to a licensed professional nurse whose name is Kelly. Kelly has been with the hospital for several years and has just graduated LPN school. Kelly is known among the nurses as an assistant and unit secretary for many years and she is considered a very trustworthy nurse. Kelly also just finished an IV certification class but claims that she will document it on Monday since Human resources is not open, it being a weekend. Nancy sends Kelly to get the unit from the blood bank, hang the blood with saline and then administer it. After one hour it is time for the charge nurse to give report, she sends Kelly in to get the first set of vital signs and check on Robby. Since Nancy is also the charge nurse, she finds herself a little behind, so she has Kelly write a short note in the record and a set of vital signs. When Kelly checks on the patient she finds that Robby is lethargic and she immediately reports this to Nancy who then declares that she needs to write an incident report up and once she is finished giving report she does exactly that and then writes in the chart that an incident report has been filed with all the relevant facts listed. She then clocks out with the knowledge that she finished everything that needed to be done.

What is your Business Presentation for Biologique

After you have fleshed out your business plan you will have the information you will need for a slide presentation (e.g., PowerPoint). This 12-slide presentation conveys the most important aspects of your business in a short time. More sophisticated investors, such as angel investors and venture capitalists, will typically not look at your written business plan until they have seen your slide presentation.

Presentation (MS PowerPoint or equivalent)

  1. Create a 12-slide presentation. Follow the outline on pp. 343–346 for the critical slides of your presentation and their placement.
    • Hints: Include the highlights of your elevator pitch, which shows that you understand your business. The elevator pitch is a concise description of your company—its product, market, competitive advantages, and so on. Whether pitching your business to an investor or describing it to a potential connection at a networking event, you need to be able explain your business succinctly to someone in the amount of time it would take to ride up a few floors in an elevator. Use the worksheet in the text (p. 362 | Your “Elevator Pitch”) to develop your elevator pitch.
    • Hints: You must limit your presentation to twelve (12) slides. You do not want to overwhelm your audience with too many slides or bore them with information they already know.
  2. Cite three (3) resources you have used to complete the exercise.
    • Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length

Title slide: your company’s name, a short company description, name of presenter(s) if presenting in person.

ImageYour elevator pitch: a succinct description of your products or services, market, and competitive advantages. Use vibrant language, and if possible, embed audio or video to demonstrate your product or service. See example below:
ImageSize of opportunity: this is what investors — VCs even more so than angels — want to know. To what size can your company potentially grow and what are your plans for future development?
ImageYour specific target customers: who they are and the customer needs that your product or service will meet.
ImageThe market size: numbers and dollars, past growth, growth forecasts.
ImageThe competition: division of market share, how your product compares to theirs, your value proposition in comparison to the competition’s, and barriers to entry.
ImageYour team: who they are, their past successes and experience, and why they are qualified to do the job.
ImageThe business model: how you will distribute your product, pricing strategies, how you will reach your customers.
ImageMilestones: a time line that outlines when you expect to reach key achievements.
ImageFinancials: a brief summary of key points from your income statement, balance sheet, and/or cash flow projections.
ImageFunding: how much you are asking for in this round, how many future rounds are expected, how much you will request during those rounds, and how the funds will be used.
ImageThe investment opportunity: potential exit strategies and financial return for investors.

the following components:

Part 1: After analyzing the current district approved document, you will write a 2-3 page
description of your understanding of how the human resource unit of a school district has
established its standards for improving instruction. Analyze the district’s current
priorities, human performance strategies, and describe the district’s climate for serving
the learning needs of culturally diverse urban school populations. (ELCC 2.1)

Describe your understanding of how the district utilizes technology and information

systems as a human resource function in the development and use of district-wide
performance appraisal processes for staff with attention to the process and action of
teaching for teachers. (ELCC 2.2)

Part 2:  3-4 pages Based on your background understanding of the district’s objectives you will then
enter the second half of this assignment. With the cooperation of a local school (at either
the middle or high school urban setting), you will work with the school administrator and

“Citizen Kane” (1941), film homework help

PAPER #2: 5-7 pages

FOCUS: The 5-7 page paper should use the criteria we’ve been practicing in class to evaluate a movie.

Analyze in detail the relevant film, applying the film terms and categories we’ve explored throughout this semester. Note the historical context and BE SPECIFIC in citing how this influenced the artistic choices in the film. Examine the shot choices, staging, costumes, lighting, rhythm, recurring images or themes in as many scenes as you believe are necessary to support your thesis.

“Citizen Kane” (1941)
is a testament, in many ways, to the high level of visual and acoustic
sophistication reached in Hollywood prior to World War II. Analyze a scene (or
scenes) from this movie directed by Orson Welles. Explain how the lack of
technical barriers influenced how the story was told in what at the time was a
groundbreaking achievement. In what ways does the FORM (shots, lighting, sound)
marry or reflect the CONTENT (theme, ideas, story)?
