After watching the video, discuss how you might segment the Bowie student body.and respond to Two o f your peers’

Student1 / Market segmentation is the process of dividing a larger market into smaller groups based on shared characteristics. Segmentation can apply in every sector and not only in the market. Bowie State University student body uses psychographic segmentation. Psychographic segmentation involves dividing your market into segments based upon different personality traits, values, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles of consumers.

The student body at Bowie State University can be segmented according to personal traits and values. The first segment is the President and the Vice president who are elected by the plurality vote among the undergraduate students body. Moreover, another segment is The Executive Member at Large elected by the plurality vote during the SGA election. The next section in which the student body is segmented in the Solicitor General who is elected by the vote of the student body. The next section is the Mr. and Miss Bowie State University voted by the undergraduate student body. Another section segmented is the Student Activities Coordinator.

Demographic segmentation. Demographic segmentation include age, race, religion, gender, family size, ethnicity, income, and education. In Bowie State, students have different ages, we have both male and female students classified as gender, students have different religions, and some are Christians while others are Muslims and so on. Additionally, we have both whites and blacks at Bowie State University classified as race.

Geographical segmentation. The market can be divided by geographical areas such as city, county, state, region, country, or international region. This also applies to Bowie State student body. We have local and international students within the school. Also, we have students coming from different states, regions and cities within the school.

————————————————————————————-

Student 2/The video provides relevant information regarding Market Segmentation, and it also explicitly define the term. Market Segmentation is define by the video as dividing a larger market into smaller groups based on shared characteristics. It further explain the different types of segmentation involves such as Demographic, Geographic, Psychographic and Behavioral segmentation.

As an institution, the Bowie State University students can be segmented into the various sections as mentioned above. Bowie State University students demographic segmentation can be categorized as undergraduate vs graduate students. We can also segment the students by gender, male as to female and possibly also transgenders if any. Still under demographic we can segment the student body by ethnicity, that is Hispanic Americans, African Americans and Asian Americans. Demographically we can also segment Bowie students by education, this is where we can categorized students by faculties and area of studies, and also level of entries, for example, sophomore, freshman, junior and senior. Regardless of demographics, all students are interest in the same fundamental product, “education”. Another way to segment Bowie State students is geographically, here we consider location, region and zip code. Students can be segmented geographically into online students and on campus students and also residential students and commuting students. With psychographic segmentation students are categorized by interest, lifestyle and attitude. Under this category we can segment the student into six different groups namely: Aspiring Academics (achieving), Coming Age (transitioning), Career Accelerators (advancing), Career Starter (thinking practically), Industry Switcher (changing career) and Academic Wanderers (seeking degree). And finally another way we can segment Bowie state students is by age of the following cohorts: twins, teens, millennial (Gen Y, born after 1980), generation X (born between 1965-1980), war generation, and great depression generation.

By segmenting students at Bowie State University, this will allow the college to do a better job recruiting students and shepherding them towards success after graduation.

Read 2 chapters and synthesize in one page

Critical and scholarly discussion of readings do not include your feelings about the author’s writing style (“I like this.”, “This is boring”, etc.) Instead, push yourself to synthesize the main ideas of the readings, identifying how they are ‘in conversation’ with one another. What are the themes across the readings? Where do these ideas diverge/do the authors appear to disagree? What questions do you have, after unpacking the readings?

Reflection Rubric

Fund Raising Project Selection

Complete the “Assignment” section after reading the Fund Raising Project Selection case in Ch. 2 of Project

Management: The Managerial Process. Make sure you are using the right exercise…this assignment is the one

using the projects like “Hoops for Hope, etc”

Submit a 350-word paper (remember all papers in the class are APA format, need an intro/closing paragraph….word count for all class assignments does not count the intro/closing paragraph or any tables/charts included in the paper….in other words you need 350 words in the paper body). The paper is where you tell me the rankings and justify the decision.

Within the paper include a completed Project Priority Evaluation form. The text provides a Project Priority Evaluation Form (yes I know it is not editable…so you either need to create your own form….take a “snip-it” of the form and write in your response, etc. I am not looking for the form to be ”pretty”….I just need the form with the values you are entering….the values are what I am looking at for grading consideration).

PSY 303 Controversy: Culturally Bound Syndromes and Symptoms

multicultural-guideline.pdf

Before you begin working on this discussion,
please read the article by Wen-Shing (2006) as well as the “Guidelines on
Multicultural Education, Training, Research, Practice, and Organizational
Change for Psychologists,” and review any relevant Instructor Guidance.

For this discussion, you will enter into another conversation on an ongoing
controversy and contemporary issue regarding abnormal psychology. Specifically,
are there psychological syndromes and symptoms that appear only in certain
cultures?

Because this topic is not covered explicitly in your course textbook, it is
absolutely essential to read the Wen-Shing (2006) article, guidelines 1, 2 and
5 from the “Guidelines on Multicultural Education, Training, Research,
Practice, and Organizational Change for Psychologists,” and your instructor’s
initial post before responding.

As you enter into this conversation, carefully consider the historical
information you read regarding the discovery and identification of symptoms and
syndromes that could potentially be bound to specific cultures. Then, take a
moment to relate this historical background to the current ethical, clinical,
and social considerations when working with individuals from diverse
backgrounds. Interpret specific symptoms and syndromes as they relate to
abnormal behavior from a culturally sensitive standpoint. Be sure to integrate
knowledge of any appropriate cultural considerations psychologists must be
aware of when working with individuals from backgrounds dissimilar to their
own.

A simple agree or disagree statement is insufficient to be counted as a
response. When presenting your opinion, cite relevant sources (beyond your
text) to support your statements. Do not repeat what your classmates have
already written, and do not ignore them if they ask you questions. Any
questions asked of you must be answered, including questions from your
instructor. Try to keep the conversation moving forward by presenting options,
insights, alternative ideas on and/or interpretations of the topics and
research.

The question For DB1, create a set of guidelines that determine when an adolescent should be treated as an adult.

Over the past several decades, adolescents have become increasingly involved in what historically have been considered “adult” activities, including violent crime, sexual activity, and substance use. This trend has forced lawmakers to determine, with increasing frequency, whether or not adolescents who engage in these “adult” activities should be treated as minors (who are deemed incompetent, less blameworthy, and unaccountable) or adults (who are deemed competent and responsible for their own actions). The ability to evaluate a minor’s level of maturity has thus become very important. For example, does a teenage murderer understand the consequences of his actions? If so, should he be held accountable and punished as an adult? Should a 16-year-old be allowed to seek treatment for a sexually transmitted infection? To make an abortion decision? When is a minor competent enough to be allowed to waive his right to counsel during police questioning?

The question For DB1, create a set of guidelines that determine when an adolescent should be treated as an adult.
