Transferance and Counter Trasferance

A) When evaluating whether a client is benefitting from the therapeutic services you are offering, why is it important to consider transference and countertransference in the relationship?

B.) How can transference and countertransference impact the client’s perspective and the therapist’s perspective of whether the services are beneficial?

C.) How can you implement assessment tools to help you monitor client benefit and do you see yourself using tools like the ORS and the SRS described in the Duncan & Miller article?

Answer must be a minimum of 200 words.

Make sure that your response is research based using professional sources in full APA format; this includes both in line citation and a full reference list.

1.How do we choose which laws are just and which ones are not?

Civil Disobedience

These discussion boards have been designed to explore controversial topics. Often these debates have the potential to become heated.  In the act of creating ideas, heat can be a good thing, but not at the expense of hurt feelings or frustration.  Remember that any argument asks that we change something about ourselves.  If we are asking our readers to change, we need to be civil about it. Likewise, when we are challenged by others with a different opinion, we need to keep an open mind. Remember, we are not changing the world here, only examining it.

Some important rules to follow:

  1. You may not attack other people or their ideas in this course.  To do so may result in failure of the assignment. You may, however, disagree with the ideas of others, but do so in a constructive manner. (e.g. “I don’t agree with your post.  I think instead that . . . ” NOT “That’s a dumb way of looking at this.”  Debate in academia is important, but let’s all be adults here.
  2. Ask open-ended questions (e. g. “What if we thought about things this way?”), and avoid making statements meant to be absolute or closed-ended questions (“There is no other way to think about this,” or “Do you agree with me?”).
  3. Remember to consider the lessons we’ve worked on throughout the rest of the class.  Rather than simply reacting to the readings and the responses of your classmates, think about the arguments being made. Really consider the effectiveness of these arguments.

Go to the resources tab and use the EBSCOhost link to search for the following articles, then, using the questions below as a guide, write a 75-100 word response about the issue being discussed. Next, please take the time to respond to your classmates.

Read

Go to the resources tab and use the EBSCOhost link to search for the following articles:

  1. King, M. (2009). Letter from Birmingham Jail. Letter from Birmingham Jail, 1.
  2. Kim, R. (2011). The audacity of Occupy Wall Street. Nation293(21), 15-21.

Respond

In his “Letter from Birmingham Jail” (1963), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights activist, claims that “one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws” (King, Jr., 1963, p. 5). These sentiments have been shared by some of the most recognizable names throughout history, including America’s forefathers, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, and so on. Dr. King, as well as other from our list, were practicing civil disobedience.

Civil disobedience does not advocate a lawless society. Civil ddisobedience is not the same as someone simply breaking the law.  Civil disobedience is an organized process of law breaking that follows very strict guidelines:

  • Conscientiousness generally aimed at creating or restoring a certain freedom or liberty for all members of that society,
  • communication with the governing body,
  • publicity,
  • and non-violence.

Practitioners of civil disobedience. more often than not, take aim at laws considered to be unjust.

  1. How do we choose which laws are just and which ones are not?
  2. What laws do you see that seem to fit the model of what King would call unjust?

King goes on to explain that those who are “more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice” were the real enemy of his movement toward civil rights (p. 7).  To do nothing, King implies, is to err on the side of the status quo. Think of some unjust things you have witnessed, yet failed to act on.

  1. Had you acted on it alone, would your involvement have changed anything?
  2. What if we all reacted too swiftly and jointly to matters of injustice?
  3. How does the act of exercising of our first amendment rights, especially when we work together, help to shape the world we live in?
  4. How did the Occupy Wall Street Movement (OWS) use civil disobedience to further its cause?
  5. Considering the outcomes associated with the OWS Movement, could we claim that the days of effective civil disobedience are over?

Short Informal Proposal

Background:

You work in the HR department for Fox and Badger, an online outdoor store and you have many co-workers who spend most of their day sitting while they deal with online orders or answer customer questions. So although you are an outdoor company, not all of your employees are super fit. You have read that other companies have given their employees personal activity trackers to encourage them to engage in a more active lifestyle, which may benefit the employees in terms of their health and may benefit the company in terms of healthier employees who may need less time off and be more productive, and perhaps eventually may lead to lower costs for health care or at least fewer increases in costs. Therefore, you will write a short informal proposal to the CEO in which you propose that your company should equip each employee with a personal activity tracker.

Your proposal has the following components in this order:

  • Memo Header & clear subject line that catches reader’s attention and conveys the benefit of your solution
  • An Executive Summary: this first paragraph contains the following: a buffer, the problem, the solution, the main reason for investing in the personal activity trackers, and the budget involved. An executive summary, see pages 407-408 allows a reader to read only that paragraph and decide whether he or she needs to keep reading).
  • Description of the Problem: Use sufficient detail to persuade readers that inactivity during the day at work causes a number of problem (use sources to document the types of problems being inactive at work can lead to.Consider finding reputable sources on how sitting all day can lead to cardiovascular disease for example).
  • Solution:Describe your solution and then follow this description with at least three arguments for your proposal to give employees personal activity trackers. See page 285 for employing logic and emotion as you develop reasons. Support your arguments for your proposal with research (e.g. evidence from various studies or case histories or articles to show the positive benefits of giving employees these devices
  • Now Give Specific Details about the Solution:
  • Budget Information: An estimate of the total cost of the personal activity trackers for your company. You must explain the budget items in detail. If you are asking someone to give you money or asking them to implement something that will require money, you need to justify the expense and explain how you arrived at the amounts you did. Are there any other expenses in addition to the trackers themselves
  • Objection and Refutation:You should anticipate at least one objection to your proposal and refute it.Read the sources I have given you and you will find possible objections employees and employers have.
  • A conclusion persuasively restating your request and the main reason and explain how you can be contacted should the VP want to discuss this in person.
  • Explain the ideal qualities a personal activity tracker should have
  • Show how the brand you recommend meets these ideals
  • Consider including a comparison of the cost of the brand and features you recommend to other other brands on the market
  • Include a time frame (how long it will take to implement your plan)

Sources: Use at least three sources in addition the articles I have linked to this assignment sheet. You may certainly use more however. I’d suggest you use following databases: ABI Inform, Academic Search Premier and you may use Google but make sure the sources you find come from respected publications.

Sources need to be documented in the text by telling your reader who the writer is and his or her expertise:According to New York Times health writer John Doe (2017), ……., and a list of references needs to be included. Just putting someone’s name in parentheses tells me nothing about the credibility of the writer. And use quotations.

Use APA style of documentation. You may of course also use testimony if you know of users who have these activity trackers

You Attitude: You want to pay special attention to creating a “you attitude” so that your reader will be motivated to provide funding for the program. Since you are writing to the CEO, consider what she or he cares about.

Length: 3-5 pages using single space typing and blank lines between paragraphs excluding the separate reference page

community center proposal, psychology homework help

Your community is opening a brand new community center.  Now that you are an expert in the field, you have been chosen to lead a development team that will create a proposal for interactive, fun, and educational programming activities that will be provided for children and adolescents in this centerUtilize problem-solving techniques in exploring developmental issues, grounded in child development, in order to assess what activities and items should be included in each program. Once you have chosen these features, you will present your ideas to a mock city council board (i.e. your instructor) with a written proposal describing the programming.

You have been asked to propose programming for five different age groups in the community center:

  • Infant (0-1 year)
  • Toddler (1-3 years)
  • Early Childhood (3-6 years)
  • Middle/Late Childhood (7-12 years)
  • Adolescence (13-18 years)

In your proposal, you will identify and describe at least 2 weekly activities for each age group (for a total of 10 activities) that address their developmental domain pathways: physical, cognitive, and psychosocial.  All three domains of development must be addressed within your classes or activities.  For example, you may have one activity which enhances cognitive and psychosocial development and a second activity which enhances physical development for a particular age group. In addition to identifying these activities, you will demonstrate a foundational knowledge of the age group’s developmental continuum by explaining your reasoning for choosing each activity, based on your analysis of theory and current child development research.

Additionally, you will search for at least 1 age-appropriate game, toy, picture, or other “play” item to enhance the chosen activities within each age group. Keep in mind that this may include things like art, music, technology, or safety gear as you deem fit.  For each item that you recommend, your proposal will provide a link to a website from which the item can be purchased by the city, as well as an explanation for why the city should purchase the item informed by research and theory.

The overall goal of the final project is much like that of a grant proposal, in which a developer must convince the city council that their new business or activity is both cost-effective and beneficial to the community.  You are encouraged to be creative and persuasive in your proposal, but remember that everything must be supported by the theories and research covered in our class. Included is a Community Center Proposal Template, demonstrating what information should be included in your written portion of the project.

SPECIAL NOTES:
You will utilize the PSY104 Written Proposal template to create and submit your proposal.  Enter the requested information on the title page where indicated. Where you find the text “This is where you will…” within the proposal, please remove that and enter your own content. The headings in bold and the outline formatting with numbers and letters should not be altered.

In your Community Center Proposal, you must include the following:

  1. Please complete each section of the template including the information requested.
  2. Within section “iv” for each room, you will be asked to justify your activities and items by analyzing interactions of the major themes: Health and Well-Being, Family and Parenting, Education, Culture and Gender as factors influencing the developmental physical, cognitive and psychosocial pathways.  Your written proposal must address how you have accounted for each of these themes in its associated room as they relate to physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. Each theme must be included in at least one room, and each room must address one or more themes. (Please see these samples for ways to explain how you have accounted for this.)
  3. Cite your sources according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. For information regarding APA samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center, located within the Learning Resources tab on the left navigation toolbar in your online course. The EBSCOHost and PSYCinfo databases in the Ashford Online Library are helpful sources of information, as are the required and recommended resources found in your course materials. To locate EBSCOHost and PSYCinfo, visit the Ashford Online Library through the tab on the left navigation toolbar in your online course and select “Databases by Subject” and then “Psychology.” (For further assistance in researching scholarly sources, please access the tutorials page on the Ashford University Library website.)

The Community Center Proposal:

  3. Must end with a conclusion that reaffirms your thesis and thanks the mock city council for their time and consideration of your proposal.
  4. Must use at least 2 scholarly sources, including a minimum of 1 from the Ashford Online Library.
  5. Must document all sources in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Woman Behind Bars, law homework help

Essay

For this week’s assignment, you will write a 1-2 page essay about female incarceration.  Be sure to address all prompts and cite your sources in APA format.

The numbers of women behind bars continue to grow. The types of crimes they commit differ compared to men. The three strikes laws are funneling in more women than ever before, and they are facing longer sentences. There has been little public discussion about the dramatic increase of women in the prison system.

Using both academically valid internet resources and your textbook as references, briefly discuss the history of females in prison.

In your paper, consider the following:

    • What major differences do you find in the treatment of men versus women while incarcerated?
    • Looking at female incarceration both historically and today, what changes in treatment do you find?
    • Is there still a gap between men’s and women’s treatment while incarcerated? Why or why not?

This assignment should be 1-2 pages in length.  Your response must be thought provoking, have well developed ideas and/or opinions, and should reference any supporting material from the text or other sources you have used to complete the assignment.

Great Zimbabwe

One of the first big issues that we always have to tackle when we study Africa in the classroom is the prevalence of inaccurate western associations with the continent. This assignment throws you into the tasks of (1) articulating western stereotypes about Africa, and (2) considering how these stereotypes have limited us and what we might do to better understand Africa’s rich, diverse history.

Step 1: What are the stereotypes? Work through two or more of the linked sources below. Jot down ideas as you read and watch the video if you have ever encountered any of the mentioned images of Africa. Write up a paragraph (100+ words) with internal citations referencing the sources below and potentially your textbook to explain several main misconceptions that most Americans have about Africa.

Step 2: What are the solutions? Then in about 100 words, address what challenges these stereotypes pose for scholars of African History and the general public. Assess one or more solution(s) offered in the linked readings. Do you think that the solution would help an American public better understand African History? Why or why not? Again, use internal citations and refer to authors by last name as you consider potential solutions.

Stereotypes and How They Challenge Our Studying of Africa

  • Do not use outside sources to complete this assignment.
  • Be sure to cite the linked readings and the video wherever you reference them in your posts.

Everything is there

***please use current sources for this paper.

***please select China as your research object.

***please read the requirements and tips carefully (attached)

For the proposal, select a country and a topic from the list provided below. If there is a particular

topic or country not listed that you would like to explore, please let your instructor or teaching

assistants know so that we can approve your selection. Once you have selected a topic and

country, you will write a one page proposal that answers the following questions:

1. Why have you selected this country-topic pair and why is it significant for US foreign

policy interests?

2. What is the nature of the relationship between the US and the country you have chosen

(i.e. is it conflictual, cooperative, complex)?

3. Give a brief overview on the US’s broader stance on this particular foreign policy issue.

4. Provide two-three places where you plan to begin looking for research on this subject.

history important

Below is an extract from a primary source that we have reviewed in class. Write a paragraph in which you (1) identify this source (what is it, who produced it, what was it for?); (2) discuss one reason why this source was important for the society that made it? and (3) what is the historical legacy of this text (its impact on later cultures)?

“We will not erect in our city or the suburbs any new monastery, church, cell or hermitage; we will not repair any of such buildings that may fall into ruins, or renew those that may be situated in the Muslim quarters of the town; we will not refuse the Muslims entry into our churches either by night or by day; we will open the gates wide to passengers and travelers; we will receive any Muslim traveler into our houses and give him food and lodging for three nights; we will not harbor any spy in our churches or houses, or conceal any enemy of the Muslims.”

Company analysis of Ford Pick 3 strategies Ford could pursue to increase revenue, business and finance homework help

Comprehensive,
Company Analysis:

·
Ford
Motor

TheFord Motor Company(commonly referred to simply asFord) is an American
multinational automaker headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.
It was founded by HenryFordand incorporated on June 16, 1903. Lot
has been written about this company and many publications are available widely.
There are many directions one can go with this company in this case
analysis. There is no single case
write-up as the previous four that could do justice the Ford as a whole. Therefore, you will need to do your own
research on Ford. I would start at its
home website, where investor information can be obtained. I would then expand to Internet searches,
YouTube documentaries, etc.

For the comprehensive company analysis, students will start
with the “Ford Motor” case. This
case will require students to follow closely to the same method as individual
cases, but a much more wholistic and rigorous analysis is expected. The minimum standards for this paper listed
below. Please use Times New Roman, 12-point font.

One example of a format the paper can follow is below,
which contains the bare minimum information required.

After the introduction of the problem the company is facing,
you need to discuss each subsequent section with the problem in mind. For instance, in the Strategy section you can give
possible solutions to the problem(s) facing the company. Then you should, discuss financial
performance, and how your idea will affect financial performance. Explain what you base it on (maybe
benchmarking, or shifting customer demand, etc.).

You may include however many charts, graphs, tables, etc. you
wish. However, all of these need to be
referenced in the text and cited (unless you created them).

are crucial. Do NOT simply add unneeded
material to “beef up” the number of pages.

Topic 6 DQ 4

Please respond with a paragraph to the following question, add citations and references:

My capstone consists of community education concerning Narcan education to community members. With a high incidence of opioid overdoses, increased the risk of opioid overdose occurring in public setting such as libraries, restaurants, and public transportation (Tobin, 2018). Initially, I wanted to created public education programs to educate community members however as that has been deemed financially unwise and difficult to schedule; my mentor and I began to think of including opioid overdose into CPR training. CPR training is often required by several workplaces and offered throughout communities and schools. By incorporating opioid overdose and Narcan training into CPR education; it would be minimal financial assistance, allow for education time, and potential for hands on training. As healthcare professionals, situations such as opioid overdose may come easy to us and we treat overdoses quickly and thoroughly. However, for a random community member the sight of an opioid overdose may come as a shock any may even scare them to the point where they do not want to help. Community education is essential to early treatment of opioid overdose.
