The agency transactions, appropiations, accounting homework help

The agency has single-year, multi-year and no-year appropriations.  On October 15, 2014, the agency tried to create several transactions.  Is the agency authorized (allowed legally) for the following?  Why or why not?  Please list YES or NO for each of the following item, and then list your reasons.  (e.g., YES, this is allowable because XYZ…)

(25 POINTS)

1) For a single year appropriation from 2014 (Beginning Budget Fiscal Year 2014), could the agency enter into a new obligation starting on October 20, 2014?  The appropriation has sufficient funding to pay for the obligation, and the expense is for a category listed in the appropriation.

2) For a multi-year appropriation, 2014 – 2015 (Beginning Budget Fiscal Year 2014, Ending Budget Fiscal Year 2015), could the agency start a new obligation starting on October 20, 2014?  The obligation would be for goods/services that would cost more than the amount remaining in the appropriation.

3) For a no-year appropriation, could the agency start a new obligation starting on October 24, 2014?  The obligation would be for goods/services that would be a use listed in the appropriation, and would not be above the amount remaining on the appropriation.

4) For a single-year appropriation, could the agency pay for an invoice dated October 5, 2014, for an obligation that had been signed on September 20, 2014?  The obligation would be for goods/services that would be a use listed in the appropriation, and would not be above the amount remaining on the appropriation.

5) For a no-year appropriation, could the agency start a new obligation starting on October 24, 2014?  The obligation would be for goods/services that would not be for an item listed in the appropriation (e.g., the appropriation is for new technology services, and the expenses is for new vehicles that will not help the technology services), and would not be above the amount remaining on the appropriation.

After reading Chapter 6 and skimming Danteworlds, respond thoughtfully to the following prompt. (3-5 sentences minimum)

After reading Chapter 6 and skimming Danteworlds, respond thoughtfully to the following prompt:

  • Write an addition to the Inferno.” Imagine you’re tagging along with Dante, and along your journey, you see someone in hell that Dante neglected to mention. Tell us about this person/group of people: Where did you see the sinner(s) (in which level of Dante’s hell)? What was his/her/their crime? (You may choose an individual from any time, past or present.)
  • Now tell us about the punishment. What’s become of them? Tell us why your sinner’s punishment is suitable.
    • In Dante’s Divine Comedy, people are punished and rewarded according to how they lived (their sins and their good works), so in your post, the punishment should fit the sinner’s crime. Also, Dante punished people according to their misalignment with his/his culture’s values; your sinner should be held to this standard, too.

Note: you do not need to write a full canto, nor do you need to adhere to Dante’s poetic structure/rhyme scheme. Dante wrote for the people and he wrote in the vernacular, so you should too.

Other considerations for your initial response:

  • Your initial response should be 3-5 complete sentences (minimum) in paragraph format for each of the above bullet points.
  • Proofread your response before posting.
  • Use specific references to support your points.
  • Response should demonstrate a reflective and thoughtful understanding of the aims and organization of Dante’s narrative (and the cultural values therein).
  • No Works Cited necessary.
  • Initial response is due prior to 11:59 pm on Thursday

Explain how the presence of a control group accounts for threats to internal validity. Summarize the types of threats to internal validity that can be avoided by utilizing random assignment to control and experimental groups.

Paper must be at least 500 words, paper must include a summary and detailed explanation

From definition, Internal Validity is said to be the approximate truth about inferences on the basis of cause-effect. control groups acts as a threat to internal validity in that it assigns a research a standard value which is used as the reference point and hence leading to biases on a finding as the control group value may be very far from the research intended.

Explanation:

types of threats to internal validity

  • selection. this leads to biases in the study which hence leads to wrong comparison and hence leading to wrong conclusion.
  • history: history accounts for the event in the past contest and if used may lead to wrong conclusion as different parameters of an event keeps on changing with rime.
  • testing: testing leads to wrong results as the outcome solemnly depends on the moods of the respondents and hence can result to bias results.

internal validy requires high level of accuracy and independence so as to allow the free comparison of data

Emergency! Just had a bad tutor experience and now in a rush to get this discussion assignment done before this Sunday 7:30 pm London time.

This is just a short one-page discussion. I’m going to attach everything. Video link will be also submitted but there’s also a transcript. Video is about 7mins long. In the video it’s quite sad cause the boy looks so young still and didn’t have a mother or father around to raise him.

Please take the time to read all information and write in a natural way (discussion based – like I’m talking to you). APA format is required and I will also use Grammarly to check and then have a second tutor to check your work.

I have also provided examples of what other people have done to give you and idea.

I need to have this done by Sunday 13 Jan 7 pm London time please.

Title of the Video

Write a brief description of the video you selected for this discussion.

Interest Description

Explain why this client issue and/or population interests you.

Insights Gained

Explain any insights you gained or conclusions you drew about working with that client issue or population.

Personal Response

Explain how this video and chapter may have confirmed or challenged your interest in working with this client issue or population, and explain why.

Discussion: Client Issues

Clinical mental health counselors, like doctors and lawyers, practice in specialty areas. These areas are specific to client issues or populations for which the counselor has had advanced clinical training and experience. Often, counselors enter a training program with an idea of the client issues or populations for which they have a passion. These specialty areas include, but are not limited to, drug and alcohol treatment, eating disorders, trauma, crisis management, depression, and/or anxiety. You might not know what area of counseling you’d like to practice, and that’s OK! Feel free to pick a topic that is most interesting to you at this point in your training.

For this Discussion, you will explore various client issues and analyze a video concerning a client population or issue that interests you. Your analysis, and the resulting dialogue with your colleagues, will help you as you work to determine the client issue or population with which you would like to specialize.

To Prepare:

Review Section 3, “Client Issues and Advocacy,” from the Erford course text.

oIn addition to the assigned reading (Chapter 8), select one additional chapter from Section 3 to review and incorporate into this discussion: Chapters 7, 9, 10, 11, or 12.

Search the Walden Library and choose a video that demonstrates a client population or client issue that interests you. Think about why you selected this video. The video should align with the chapter you have selected.

Also, as you review the video, notice what the clinical mental health counselor does during the session.

After reviewing the video, reflect on anything that surprised you in the video.

Think about any insights you gained or conclusions you drew about client issues and this population from the video and the chapter, noting specifically if anything reinforced your desire to work with this client issue or population.

—–

Post the following:

The title and a brief description of the video you selected.

Explain why this client issue and/or population interests you.

Explain any insights you gained or conclusions you drew about working with that client issue or population.

Finally, explain how this video and chapter may have confirmed or challenged your interest in working with this client issue or population, and explain why.

**In addition to citing the video you selected, be sure to support your postings and responses with specific citations to the Learning Resources (chapter readings) and additional scholarly resources as needed to support your perspectives.

Tesco® – Entry and Exit from Japan

In September 2011, Tesco, the British supermarket group and the world’s third-biggest retailer announced its exit from Japan after 8 years in the country. In the event, Tesco became the latest in a long list of foreign retailers to exit from Japan. This case study highlights why many International supermarket chains like Tesco have been unsuccessful so far in a difficult Japanese market.

“Let’s be honest, Japan was a short, expensive adventure for us,” Jose Luis Duran, Chief Executive of Carrefour in March 2005 on its exit from Japan “These retailers brought into Japan their business formats without adjusting for Japan. It’s not as if a wholesale-club-type concept will not take off here, but there has to be some modification.” – Masayoshi Saotome, research director at Mitsubishi® Research Institute Inc.

Japan, the world’s third-biggest grocery market, remains a difficult country to make money from as international retailers Walmart® and Carrefour have found out. Walmart has not done great in Japan with its presence since 2002 through Seiyu. When Carrefour had entered Japan in 2000, it had made huge claims on revolutionizing retailing in the country. However, in 2005, Carrefour swapped its Japanese assets for Tesco’s assets in Taiwan. In September 2011, Tesco, the British supermarket group and the world’s third-biggest retailer announced its exit from Japan after 8 years in the country. In the event, Tesco became the latest in a long list of foreign retailers to exit from Japan.

Seven & I Holdings® and Aeon® dominate Japan. Even British drugstore chain Boots pulled out of Japan owing to increased competition and deflation. Additionally, Japan’s Byzantine distribution system of closely-knit web of suppliers and consumers’ fickle taste is the reason behind many retailers struggling. Many analysts attribute the failure to misreading Japanese consumers’ mindset. However, the competitive Japanese retail market is a tough arena, not just for foreign retailers but also for local Japanese department stores. Local stores also have been struggling with price deflation and ever-increasing specialty stores.

Case Study Questions:

1. Why are the Japanese retail markets so difficult to compete in?

2. Why are Japanese customers reluctant to shop at foreign retailers versus local retailers?

Here is the Assignment grading rubric.

Macbeth Newspaper Article

NEWSPAPER ARTICLE: DUNCAN’S MURDER

You will be writing a newspaper article about the murder of King Duncan. Follow each step below.

  • Using a Map of Scotland, pick a city and create a name for your newspaper. For example, The Dunsinane Daily Journal (you are NOT allowed to use this example) http://www.scotland.com/maps/
  • You must have a headline that includes a “hook” (something that grabs the reader’s attention and practically insists that he or she read the whole story). “King Duncan’s Dead!” is NOT an effective headline. It does nothing to draw the reader in, it simply states a fact. “Duncan Murdered, Macbeth Seizes Throne!” IS an effective headline (and one that you are NOT allowed to use).
  • You must include a picture with a caption. Example: a picture of a bloody knife with the caption, “One of the bloody knives found at the scene of the crime. Macbeth, Thane of Cawdor, executed the two men believed to have committed the crime, Duncan’s guardsmen.” Again, you are NOT allowed to use this example (you can have a picture a bloody knife but the caption must be different).
  • The key elements of a newspaper report involve Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How (in this case, the “Why” and “How” are not known clearly, so you should include guesses as to the reason(s) for both). Remember you are writing this from the perspective of a reporter. You are reporting speculations only. You are not writing from the perspective of someone who read the play and knows the entire story. You must have a statement (or statements) that details the facts of the murder. You must mention King Duncan, his guards, Macbeth, and Lady Macbeth.

  • Remember: only Lady Macbeth and Macbeth know what REALLY happened. Therefore, your article should NOT include facts such as “Macbeth killed Duncan” or “Lady Macbeth smeared Duncan’s blood on the faces of his guardsmen.” Instead you could write something like, “blood was smeared on the guardsmen. Officials are currently testing for finger prints to identify for a lead.” You are reporting on what everyone believes to be the events of the evening.
  • The assignment is to be typed, single-spaced, in newspaper-style format (two columns). You must have a minimum of 3 newspaper-style paragraphs of information.

Newspaper Style:

  • Your article should be a serious front-page article from a well-respected newspaper like The Philadelphia Inquirer. Your article will detail (in a straightforward manner) almost all of the facts of the murder that were known to the general public. It will professionally address some of the rumors surrounding the murder by using a phrase such as: “A confidential source believes that…”

The language of all articles must be appropriate for school. The inclusion of foul language or other inappropriate material will result in points being deducted from your grade.

The assignment is worth 50 points.
