What is the value of budgeting in short-term planning?

Companies receive cash from their accounts receivable over an extended period of time. It is not uncommon for A/R collections to be spread out over 30 days. However, companies must pay their expenses on a much shorter timetable. Employees need to be paid every two weeks and vendors need to be paid in a timely manner, too. Cash must be managed in such a way that a company can meet its obligations. All of this must be taken into account for budgeting purposes.

For this assignment, address the following questions:

  • What are some of the challenges or problems associated with the management of current assets and liabilities? How should companies address these problems?
  • Should a company attempt to match the maturity of their assets with the liabilities used to finance those assets? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing or not doing this matching of assets and liabilities? Explain your answers.
  • What are the benefits to the organization of having a well developed cash budgeting plan? What are some of the risks of not having a sound cash management plan? Explain your answers.

Respond to Andrea:

The department of homeland security have many partners within the federal government, public and private sectors. In addition, to the communities in the country since 9/11 help build what they called was a new homeland security enterprise to help with the mitigation. It also was to help defend against threats, different risks that poses a threat to the country, and have the ability to respond in the recovering efforts in the disasters in any kind. In protecting the United States from terrorism is through the department of homeland security (DHS). However, the threats of act of terrorism is always among us and is continuing to evolve on a daily basis. With this, that is why DHS have build fusion centers, Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initative and Grant funding to insure that those states, local and privates sectors are equipped and protected in cases of emergencies. Since 9/11 the federal government have or still trying to prevent terrorist travel and making efforts in passenger screening, strengthening surface transportation security, strengthening global supply chain security, detecting and preventing biological, radiological, protecting critical infrastructure and nuclear threats.

The government have started what is called equal opportunity rights. Employee rights and responsibilities make sure that all employess understand and made aware of what they should be doing to protect and promote safety around those that they work with. Employees have the right to be fairly and be discriminated against their gender, age, sex or religion. Civil Rights Act of 1964 protect us from the discrimination. The ADA ( American Disability Act) helps with the discrimination of those who have a disability, whether it is mental impairment or physical. Each and every employee have the right to privacy at their workplace. Employees have many rights. For non profit organizations they have the ACLU, the government is 1957 Civil Rights Act/1964 Civil Rights Act, and Law Firms have the discrimination laws under the Civil Rights Act of 1991.

It can and must be balanced. The security is balanced against civil liberty. However, they still need some improvements. They have effective ways that limited the governments ability to intrude in our lives while increasing the security efforts in protecting the United States. The governmnet have fundamental and firm principles that limited them. However, the Americans must adhere to them. They have to balance this along with working with the terrorist threats. It is a great challenge but not all challenges are easy.
