The Proposal and Bibliography
By the start of class on October 24 (i.e., 12:30 pm), students must submit a short proposal and tentative bibliography. The proposal should be at least 5 sentences (i.e., one paragraph) in length. It must be accompanied by a properly formatted bibliography that includes at least 2 primary sources or 1 primary source collection with multiple sources on the topic. Furthermore, it must include at least 3 secondary sources that are either books from academic presses or peer-reviewed articles.
You do not need to have acquired these sources by the time the bibliography is submitted, but they should be available via the Auraria library, Prospector, or Interlibrary Loan. Citation Formatting

In this week’s module we saw as a bit of review that Kant, in the Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals, had written that someone who is not inclined to help others, but who forces herself to, performs a morally praiseworthy action. While someone who regularly helps others and enjoys doing so, even if the enjoyment is not selfish, may deserve praise, but her action has no true moral worth. Do you agree with Kant? What reasons can you give for viewing moral acts that are performed merely out of habit as possessing less moral worth than those that require an immense personal effort?

Linda is a six-year-old girl in First Grade.
