Write a 6 page essay that does the following:

1). Explores a specific research question àpreferably the one presented at the top of your
annotated bibliography

rather than making one set argument throughout.

  * Keep in mind that this is an exploration paper

include dictionaries, encyclopedias, or other reference works.

·
At least six (6) of those ten

·
That means no more than two (2)
of your ten sources can be newspapers or magazines or other reliable sources

Consideration of Developmental Level in Applied Behavior Analysis Interventions, psychology help

This does not have to be a response over 350 words

Mrs. Thomas is a first grade special education teacher. This school year, Mrs. Thomas has eight students. Each of the students has been diagnosed with either autism spectrum disorder or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. In addition to Mrs. Thomas, there are two other paraprofessionals in the class. The director of special education has asked that you provide behavior analytic services for the students in Mrs. Thomas’s classroom. You scheduled a time to directly observe as part of the assessment process.

During the observation, you notice one student gets out of his seat during spelling class, walks around the classroom, and twirls around. When he gets out of his seat, the teacher and paraprofessional tell him to get back in his seat and threaten to remove recess time. Another student is flipping headfirst off his chair. The other paraprofessional tells him to stop and threatens that he will have to eat lunch in the classroom instead of the cafeteria. Another student is yelling out the wrong answers in response to the teacher’s questions. Mrs. Thomas tells the student that he is smarter than that and knows the right answer. After these behaviors continue for 15 minutes, spelling class ends. Mrs. Thomas sends the students to recess. During recess, you notice the students engaging in sharing and turn-taking behavior. During this time, Mrs. Thomas and the paraprofessionals discuss their plans for the evening and do not interact with the students.

When you prepare to leave, you ask to see each student’s current functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plan. Mrs. Thomas tells you that she has been teaching special education for 20 years and the behavior interventions do not work for these students. She has never seen students like the students in this class. She claims that there is nothing you can do to help.

1. What are some of the strengths within Mrs. Thomas’s classroom?

2. What are some of the performance concerns? Discuss how you could use the principles and strategies within performance management to garner the support/compliance of the classroom’s professionals to implement each student’s behavior intervention plan.

3. What are the ethical or social validity considerations to be aware of when designing your plan.

Cultural Awareness Paper

n the last unit, we began to consider the characteristics of counselors and clients with respect to culture, class, and language, and how important it is to be mindful of how we attend to these in our counseling practice. In this exercise we will be asked to take our personal exploration further by investigating our own cultural heritage and its impact on our worldviews.

Sue and Sue (2013) define worldview as the way “people perceive their relationship to the world” (p. 136) and explain that our worldviews are related to our cultural upbringing and experiences. They also explain that our worldviews are “composed of our attitudes, values, opinions, and concepts, [and] also affect how we think, define events, make decisions, and behave” (p. 137).

For this assignment you will need to interview at least one family member, and you may wish to include more as you investigate your own cultural background. Based upon the data you gather from the interview process, your own reflections, and at least two peer-reviewed articles that address counselor characteristics and cultural heritage, address the following points.

Awareness of Your Cultural Heritage

  • Describe your and your family’s (either birth or adopted) cultural heritage (for example, your paternal grandparents immigrated to the United States from Italy, and your maternal grandparents emigrated from Ireland).
  • Share the cultural traditions that have been passed down in your family.
  • Does your family have one or more religious or spiritual traditions?
  • Consider your cultural heritage in terms of those aspects of which you and your family are:
    • Most proud.
    • Ashamed.
  • What aspects of your cultural heritage have been or currently do result in discrimination and oppression for you and your family?
  • What aspects of your cultural heritage have been or do currently result in privileges for you and your family?
  • How does your worldview contribute to your ideas about the purpose of counseling, role of the counselor, and approaches to therapy that you’ll be using in your work with clients from diverse backgrounds?
  • Consider potential barriers or opportunities your worldview could present in counseling a client of a different:
    • Ethnicity or race.
    • Gender.
    • Socioeconomic status.

Strategies to Overcome Your Cultural Competence Limitations

  • Identify and discuss at least one competency from each of the aspects of multicultural competence (awareness, knowledge, skill) that would be important to apply in ensuring that you eliminate these barriers.

Your paper should be a maximum of 7 pages long and should include at least two references from current peer reviewed journals. You may include your text as a reference as well. Use APA 6th edition format for all citations and references.

Tennessee Hydroelectric plant Employment, Law Assignment Homework Help

  • Please use the following hypothetical scenario to answer the following 5 questions. Each question is worth 20 points for a total of 100 points. When complete upload your document to the dropbox below.

Scenario

Janet Johnson, an African American woman, has been working at the Tennessee Hydroelectric plant for 15 years. During that time, his performance reviews have been exemplary. She decided to apply for the new plant foreman position. Although she felt that she was eminently qualified for the position, she also was growing tired of a certain good old boy culture at the plant. For years, the plant has had a culture of highly lewd “jokes,” and many of the employees had also engaged in inappropriate touching of female employees. The plant had an anti-harassment policy on record, but Janet’s boss shrugged and said “boys will be boys” when she reported the harassment to him.

Competition for the position was fierce. But ultimately, Jose Martinez, a Chilean man, received the position. Jose had 7 years of experience. Unbeknownst to the applicants the promotion board secretly ran a credit check on the applicants. Janet credit score came in as lower as average, and this factored into the board’s decision. Although he met the qualifications of the position, one of the hiring managers told Janet in confidence that Janet was the most qualified person for the job. And the other managers had applied a racial preference on Jose’s behalf due to there never having been a Latino manager at the plant even though Latino’s represented 35% of employees at the plant.  Janet sues the plant for disparate treatment, disparate impact, and sexual harassment under Title VII.

Questions

  1. List the elements of disparate treatment and apply them to this case.  Can Janet prove a prima facie case? How would the plant rebuff these charges? Who would ultimately prevail?
  2. List the elements of a disparate impact case and apply them to this case? Will Janet prevail on this charge?
  3. List the elements of the sexual harassment case and apply them to this case? Can the plant establish an affirmative defense?
  4. If the plant argues that it applied a racial preference to Jose to correct a manifest imbalance at the plant of underutilization of certain minorities, will the plant prevail? Why or why not?
  5. Was it legal to use the credit check as a factor in the promotion decision the way that it was done here? Why or why not?

As Chapter 11 in your textbook notes, the costs for health care have risen dramatically and are expected to continue to rise. While Medicare is a public insurance program that provides coverage to almost everyone who is 65 and older, it only covers a portion of health care expenses. In fact, the authors of your textbook note that “if current trends continue, by 2030 half of those aged 65 and older will spend more than 25% of their income on medical bills and insurance premiums” (Markson & Stein, 2012).

After reading Chapter 11 in your textbook and watching “Aging America and Healthcare Reform,” please address each of the following:

  1. Compare and contrast the services provided to older individuals under Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B.
  2. Compare and contrast the health care services provided under Medicare versus Medicaid. Be sure to address how each program is funded, what they cover, who qualifies for them, and what role each plays in paying for health care of the elderly population.
  3. Discuss the current funding for Medicare and why there is debate regarding the program.
  4. What changes (if any) do you think that there will be in the Medicare program over the next 20 years?
  5. Do you believe that the eligibility requirements should be changed in order to receive the health services provided by Medicare? Why or why not?
