The Impact of Photography.

With the continual rise of digital media and our dependence on the internet for information and consumption, the importance of photography and motion pictures has greatly increased in recent years. For this assignment, you will need to first read chapter 9 (The Camera, Computer & Motion Picture Arts) in the “Living With Art” 10th edition textbook.

For this third assignment, I want you to carefully think about how photographic images and motion pictures greatly shape your everyday perception(s) of the world around you.

In a page or longer of writing, tell me specifically how photographic images in magazines, newspapers, books and the internet have shaped your perception(s) of the world. Give specific examples. How do movies, films and motion pictures also shape your everyday perception(s) of the world? Give examples and reasons.

Some other questions I would like you to address in your paper are: 1). Is the role of photography and motion pictures to inform us, mislead us or simply to entertain us (or all of these)? Give some specific examples. Also in your paper, I would like you to address these two questions: 3). Photography is said to have a greater impact over mass audiences than any other art medium (more so than paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, etc). Why is this? Give examples. 4). Photography also gets the most criticism for not being considered “art.” Why is this? Give examples.

Please respond to this assignment in a full page of writing or more. No double-spacing please, and use 12 point type. Please be mindful of spelling, grammar and complete sentence and paragraph structure.

How Does This Relate to Me?, journal entry help

How Does This Relate to Me?

Prior to beginning this journal entry, review the “Cognition: Overview and Recent Trends” (pp. 3-8), “Neuroscience Bases of Learning” (pp. 9-15), and “Learning in a Cross-Cultural Perspective” (pp. 16-22) articles in your text, and read the American Educational Research Association’s Code of Ethics. It is important for you to have already completed your initial post in the “Learning and Cognition Perspectives” discussion before you compose this journal entry. Each week’s journal entry will include four parts. Each part does not need to be lengthy, but should demonstrate your understanding of the course content addressed within the week.

Part 1: Learning acquisition and development is a key area in the study of learning and cognition. Each week, you will include vocabulary from your readings in your journal that was unfamiliar to you or might be unfamiliar to your peers. Identify three to five words from this week’s content and research each word in the context of learning and cognition. Explain, in your own words, what each word means and how it is used in the context of learning and cognition.

Part 2: Based on this week’s discourse and content, access the Ashford University Library and research one peer-reviewed article pertaining to social processing that was published within the last 10 years. Provide a summary explanation of the findings on social processing in the context of your article. What implications should scholars consider based on this information? Support your explanation utilizing your course sources and your researched article.

Part 3: Consider the events from the past week of your life. Did you or someone you know experience anything that supports your conclusions about the effects of emotions and social learning on behaviors? Describe one personal real-life example of an occurrence that supports the implications of social learning on our behaviors and beliefs. As you share this information, consider and apply the professional standards found in “12.06 Anonymity of Sources”found in the AERA Code of Ethics.

Part 4: Based on the AERA Code of Ethics, if you have described an event that occurred with a friend or a colleague, what do your resources suggest may possibly affect how you personally interpret the event? What is the possibility for bias on your part, and how can it be avoided (or should it be)? In what ways can you address your personal biases when explaining observations to be ethical in reporting of the information? How important is this process to the maintenance of professional standards?

Each journal entry should be 400 to 700 words in length and should establish your understanding of the content, apply appropriate methods of ethical practices, and exhibit appropriate scaffolding of personal experience to the week’s content.

Topic 2 DQ 1

Please write a
paragraph with your opinion based on the text bellow. Please include citations
and references in case you need to used for the question.

I believe
structural violence contribute to health disparity. The cost of
living and cost of health care are on the rise and out of
control. More and more people are living paycheck to paycheck and
the middle class is disappearing. Rich people are getting richer and
poor people are getting poorer. The rise of poverty among immigrants
and minorities, health is their least priority. Now these days, more
and more people are delaying seeing the doctor because of the cost. Because
of the rising cost of health care affordability, more people are putting off
their health. They fear not being able to pay the medical bills,
being burden to their family, and not being able to contribute financially. Additionally,
the article mentions about language barrier and being immigrant also make them
not to seek early help. They fear that health care providers see’s
them as burden in the society. If the health care cost continues to
rise and wages not keeping up with the cost of living, more and more people
will delay seeking help because they would rather use their resources (money)
on shelter, food, clothing, and other necessities.

My final thought on this
article is, Congress, Senate, and the President need to find a better alternative
to make health care affordable and available to everyone. The big
insurance companies also need to participate on finding solutions too to
improve and make health care affordable.

Film writing analysis essay

Need to write at least 750 words, and need to use at least one citation from the attached file, no outside resources needed!!!!!!

Please read the writing instruction in the attached file. Here is one short summary:

Your first reading analysis needs to be 2-3 double-spaced pages with 1-inch margins in 12-point Times New Roman font. Please include a title, your name, and page numbers. Since it is only a 1500-1700-words analysis, long quotes should not be used more than once. Although a short paragraph of summary might be necessary to your assignment introduction, the priority of this assignment should be your critical response to the prompt, the film and the reading. This means that I evaluate this assignment on the basis of how well you engage with the text (both films and readings); how you critically analyze textual evidence in relation to the prompt question you choose, and how you coherently refer to the argument or evidence in the texts to evoke your point of discussion.

*Your assignment can be based ONLY on these following film texts: (1) Ju Dou, (2) Farewell My Concubine, (3) Mother India, (4) Pather Panchali, (5) Tokyo Story

The following paragraph is meant to prompt your formulation of an analysis. Please keep in mind that I expect your papers to be rigorously structured around a clearly defined argument with a careful use of textual evidence.

Here is one example: In Lucia Nagib’s article, “Towards a Positive Definition of World Cinema,” she writes, “In my view, the belief in a centre is as mythic as the quest for origins…cinema has existed for over ten thousand years in the minds of human beings in the form of associative currents, daydreams, sensual experiences and stream of consciousness. The technical discovery only made it reproducible” (30). One can say that this statement is a form of protest to Hollywood aesthetic norms and dominance and the way in which studies of Hollywood films usually depict and make claim over the rest of the world. The statement also opens up a possibility for us to look more closely at films made from different geographical, cultural and political sites than Hollywood as having their own says and values. How does a film that we have watched so far support or illustrate Nagib’s argument? In other words, how does a film of your choice deliberately make an aesthetic or political claim on its own terms and in its own given historical moment? How does it visualize or represent the claim—through “daydreams, sensual experiences, stream of consciousness,” in Nagib’s words, or through other possible forms i.e. theatrical performances, folkloristic communal traditions?Consider both the narrative and the cinematography of the film that you select. Pick at least two scenes to analyze, and close-read how they support your argument; how they decenter the Hollywood norms, or how they give rise to new potential aesthetic insights and political discussions of the given moment.

*Please put words count on the last page of your assignment. See the criteria for this assignment on Canvas.
