Post one:

The New York City terrorist attacks on Sept 11, 2001 (9/11), killed nearly 2800 people and thousands more had subsequent health problems. Rescue and recovery workers, especially those who arrived early at the World Trade Center site or worked for longer periods, were more likely to develop respiratory illness than were other exposed groups. Risk factors for post-traumatic stress disorder included proximity to the site on 9/11, living or working in lower Manhattan, rescue or recovery work at the World Trade Center site, event-related loss of spouse, and low social support. Investigators note associations between 9/11 exposures and additional disorders, such as depression and substance use; however, for some health problems association with exposures related to 9/11 is unclear. Like all other countries and health departments all over the world, before 9/11 in the USA the focus on emergencies and the required resources was narrow. Although the high level of preparedness when there were public health aspects to emergencies, no formal organizational structure for emergency planning and response existed before 9/11. After the attacks, the country health invested substantially in infrastructure and operations to respond to emergencies. New Federal funding and support for public health and health-care preparedness allowed to hire dedicated staff to plan for emergencies. At the same time, because emergency response often requires the effort of the entire health department, the department promoted this dual use of these funds to strengthen the core public health infrastructure.

Post Two:

Based on my readings and experience, health care emergency management has created many jobs unlike before its evolution. Emergency management enables the protection of civilians through quick response to community needs during disasters. Its introduction has reduced the casualties that succumb to accidents. Initially, health care emergency management was a male-dominated field. Some of the participants had no professional qualifications to handle severe bodily injuries. However, the circumstances have changed. Education programs have been developed to equip potential candidates with relevant knowledge to successfully work as health care emergency managers, improving emergency interventions to save lives.

The advancement of emergency management has fostered workplace diversity. Unlike earlier where only men worked in the field, women have been incorporated in emergency management. The growth rate has increased as women can acquire relevant knowledge needed to handle emergencies. For instance, in 2010, 37.5% of employees working as emergency managers were female (Pittman, 2011). Diversity has enabled positive changes and better management of emergency cases. The traditional approaches of recruiting personnel have been replaced by academic qualifications to fill health care emergency management roles.

Thedrastic growth in emergency management is attributed to increased access to education. Academic institutions equip potential candidates with skills and knowledge to be an emergency manager. These provisions have increased the preparedness for natural disasters in hospitals (Barbera, Yeatts, & Macintyre, 2009). Moreover, technology evolution and globalization have influenced the field’s progress (LeBlanc, Kosmos, & Avchen, 2017). Technology has improved communication, patient monitoring, rescue, and diagnosis. Globalization has enabled the adoption of ideas from nations with better emergency management systems. Emergency management is expected to grow continually because of improved education, technology, and globalization.

National Labor Relations Board Discussion

National Labor Relations Board and Act [CLOs: 1, 2]

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) extends rights to many private-sector employees, including the right to organize and bargain with their employer collectively. Employees covered by the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) are protected from certain types of employer and union misconduct and have the right to attempt to form a union where none currently exists. Prior to beginning this discussion, review the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) of 1947 article. Link here: https://www.nlrb.gov/resources/national-labor-relations-act-nlra

For your initial post, analyze what impact the NLRB and courts had in their attempt to generate equality of bargaining power between union and employers (if any). Analyze the pros and cons of including “alternative dispute resolution (ADR)” in the NLRA. Explain whether the NLRA should be modified to include ADR to prohibit lockouts and strikes, or whether the NLRA should modify the bargaining agreement to require interest-based bargaining. Support your statements with at least three (3) scholarly and/or credible sources. Your initial post must be three paragraphs in length.

Elevator Pitch Idea

I have to incorporate a story-telling technique in the beginning before talking about the service of investing in rooftop farms in Singapore.

Using one of the technique here:

https://norsensus.no/storydown/storytelling-techni…

I require you to come up with two stories using the storytelling techniques above.

This is what i have in mind but i can’t think of ways to link to the storytelling technique:

SG has 90% of food imported overseas, making the country vulnerable to food insecurity. Imagine eating your noodles today and the probability of that next meal disappears. This exhibits the vulnerability of food security issues as you never know when this might occur. Therefore, a solution to food security is investing in rooftop farms.

Statement of Problem

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Chapter 1 of your Dissertation Proposal introduces your research topic. You will spend a considerable amount of time developing and refining your statement of the problem in this course because this is the heart of your study. You will need to identify tangible evidence that illustrates that the problem exists and then identify why this problem must be studied. For an applied degree, the problem should be based in practice, and for a PhD the investigation of the problem needs to add to the body of knowledge.

You might wonder why what seems to be the straightforward concept of a problem statement requires so much refinement. You need to ensure that what you have identified as a problem with justifiable evidence is research worthy. It must be one that is important to you, your intended audience, and the academy of scholars in your discipline, not to mention others who might be influenced by the results of your study. Often students come in with a very broad topic idea that must be whittled down into a manageable and narrower topic. Eventually, the problem statement builds into the purpose and provides context for the need of the study. The research questions will be written to address the problem and purpose within the context of the study.

Discussion question/ fill in

Why is debugging flawed processes important? Can you think of any customer situations you are involved with (either as a customer or employee) that could be debugged?

What is integrated and aligned to make Quality Service? What is the goal of integration?

Your family would like you to handle social media on behalf of Hearth and Home Hardware. Using the drop down menu, match each of the following descriptions to the social media tool it represents.

Record videos of various “how to” projects and upload them so that customers can watch online.
Write about specific tools and projects, along with photos of each step, and post on a website for customers to learn about the store’s products and services.
Use #HearthHomeTip to identify your store’s home-improvement tips posted on Twitter and Facebook.
Create an online activity that challenges players to “build” a home in competition with other players.

You believe social media communities could help increase exposure for Hearth and Home Hardware, because so many people are interested in do-it-yourself home improvement projects. Indicate whether each of these statements about social media communities is true or false.

A forum acts like an interactive community bulletin board to connect stakeholders and target their interests.
A wiki allows members, such as store shoppers, to compete with each other in a goal-oriented activity with defined rules of engagement.
Social media communities encourage two-way communication among friends, fans, followers, or connections.
The point of a wiki is to encourage community members to contribute information and keep content correct and updated.

You have to take a number of steps as you develop a social media plan for Hearth and Home Hardware. Determine which five of the following six steps are part of the process for building a social media plan, and arrange those five in order using the drop down menu.

Segment and target the social customer

Establish social media objectives

Implement and integrate the plan

Listen to determine opportunities

Plan inbound marketing

Select social media tools

Before you actually implement your social media plan, you want to prepare for measuring the results. Categorize each of the following as either a quantitative or a qualitative measurement.

Setting a benchmark for how many visitors the blog should attract.
Determining whether customers are or are not satisfied.
Determining if customers are satisfied with the time it takes to resolve customer service issues.
Counting the number of followers and likes for the store’s social media accounts.
Measuring the click through rate of links posted in the store’s tweets.

Your family recently acquired a second hardware store in a neighboring town. With two stores and a solid social media presence, you think this is the time for Hearth and Home Hardware to expand into e-business. Use the drop down menu to classify each of the resources shown below as human, informational, material, or financial resources for your e-business.

Hire a designer to create the look and pages for the new website.
Arrange the systems to receive electronic payment from customers via PayPal or credit cards.
Acquire specialized retail software for the e-business.
Outsource installation of tracking systems for customer relationship management, orders, and shipping.
Order specialized computers and networking equipment.
Apply for a bank loan to cover the extra e-business expenses.
Contract with programmers to code the transactional capabilities of the new website.

Your family owns Hearth and Home Hardware, a local store that stocks tools and materials for do-it-yourself home and garden projects. When you work at the store on weekends, you’re often asked to demonstrate how certain tools are used. Also, customers ask for tips on completing projects such as installing a kitchen countertop or putting down a patio. How might your family’s store benefit from the use of social media? Select three reasons from the following list.

Before planning for your family’s possible e-business, you need to understand the different business models. Use the drop down menu to classify each of the following as an example of the business-to-business (B2B) model or the business-to-consumer (B2C) model.

A manufacturer develops a website to manage purchases from and relations with suppliers that sell it equipment, raw materials, and specialized services.
A lighting firm develops a website to accept orders for industrial lighting fixtures from business customers.
A retailer develops a website to sell children’s clothing and accessories to parents and grandparents.
An office furniture firm develops a website to sell ergonomic desks and chairs to small businesses.
An antiques dealer develops a website to sell Colonial-era items to collectors.

Because Hearth and Home Hardware will be embarking on an e-business venture, you need to be aware of ethical and legal concerns, as well as future challenges that you could face. Match each of the following descriptions with the corresponding key term.

Storing services on the Internet to be provided temporarily, as needed, to computer users.
Software that infiltrates a computer system without the user’s consent, often with criminal or malicious intent.
Searching through data records electronically to look for useful information.
A small piece of software sent by a website that tracks what individual Internet users do online.

High Reliability in Health Care – Long Term Care

In this Assignment you will identify major elements of high-reliability organizations providing long-term care. According to the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program (MBNQA), the criteria are as follows:
