Assignment Overview
Until the end of the 1700s, the economies of all the world’s major civilizations were principally agriculture, and their societies were rural. Most people in most nations lived in the countryside and worked at growing food and tending livestock. Over the course of centuries, trade and commerce, as well as arts and crafts, had become increasingly important as sectors of economies throughout the world. Compared to agriculture, however, they remained relatively minor.
In Europe, this state of affairs changed dramatically during the end of the 1700s and the first half of the 1800s. The mass production of goods by means of machine power—industrialization—became a key part of Western economies. The importance of trade and commerce skyrocketed, and a growing number of people moved from rural areas to the city. The economic system known as capitalism was born. Taken together, these phenomena are part of what is commonly known as the Industrial Revolution.
Much of the capital needed to set the Industrial Revolution in motion arrived from lucrative investments in overseas plantations. Britain, the epicenter of industrialization, had become wealthy through the shipment of African slaves to the West Indies, and the import of sugar from those islands. The slave trade and the use of slave labor, although occurring thousands of miles away, was integral to Britain’s development.

After looking through the recommended lecture and assigned readings on the Background page and other research from the Internet, write a 3- to 5-page paper on the following topic:
Describe the Industrial Revolution and the new forms of economic activity it created, including mass production, and mass consumption. How was this connected to slavery?

I am a graduate learner in the Doctorate Educational Leadership
in Behavioral Health program under the guidance of my Chair. I am looking for 4
individuals with PHD’s or Doctorate degrees in the field of  Psychology,
Behavioral Health, Trauma, Counseling, Therapy, or related filed to be
a part of an expert panel review to ensure the validity of my interview
questions that will be used as part of my dissertation study about female
perceptions of their experience of childhood sexual abuse by a family member
and how implementing or not implementing forgiveness as a coping skill has
impacted their relationship towards their perpetrator. I will attach my review
questions for my study and the survey/interview validation rubric to use as a
guide as you look at the questions. What I need is for you to look the
interview questions over as it relates to female survivors of sexual abuse form
a family member and how implementing forgiveness as a coping skill has impacted
their relationship with their perpetrator and use your expertise to critique
the questions. Let me know how I can make the questions better, if I have a
question that needs to be changed, list questions that maybe I should consider.

Jim, a botanist travelling in South America, comes upon a public execution in a small town. A military captain has lined up twenty Indians. He explains to Jim that they have been chosen at random from the local population, which has recently been protesting against the government. The captain offers Jim a guest’s privilege. If Jim wishes, he can select one of the Indians and shoot him himself and then the other nineteen will go free. Otherwise, the execution by the captain’s henchman, Pedro, will go ahead as planned.

What would a Utilitarian do in this case? What would you do and why?

First, do some research on how the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex communicate and result in normal behavioral response. You will begin your reading on the amygdala by following this link. After reading this section, click on several other structures in the brain at the end of the page to read about the interactions between these three regions. Briefly describe this pathway and the behavior that results from the interaction of these regions using 2-3 sentences. This will help you to introduce the content that you will address in the sections below.

What effect on hippocampal cells have stress hormones had in recent studies described by Stress Effects on Structure and Function of Hippocampus? What effect have they had on the amygdala in studies? What are the implications of these effects? HINT: What are the functions of the regions and how might they be affected by changes in their structure?

What is neurogenesis and where does it occur in the brain? What effect on the regeneration of hippocampal cells is reported in this article? What is the mechanism?

Conclusion Paragraph 1

Summarize the effects of cortisol on this pathway by describing how PTSD can result from perpetuated cortisol release and how this can result in depression by activating and/or reinforcing depression pathways.

Describe the methods proposed to counteract the negative effects of chronic stress in How to Prevent Stress from Shrinking Your Brain.
