Using your readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research methods for creating arguments using factors for and factors against an issue.

Select a topic for use in this assignment. It is recommended that you choose a topic that is personally meaningful or interesting to you. Examples of topics can include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Gun control: Increasing restrictions on the civilian possession of non-hunting guns.
  • Selective service: Enacting compulsory military service obligation for all US citizens.
  • Universal health care: Governmental provision of free health care for all citizens.

For the selected topic, complete the following:

  • Construct at least six reasons for and six reasons against the topic. Rank the reasons in terms of strength and effectiveness.
  • Explain why you identified each argument as either strong or weak in each category.

Include the following two parts in your completed assignment:

Part 1: Compile a matrix (using the template below) that lists and ranks six arguments for and six arguments against the issue you have selected. Rank the reasons for each side of the issue from strongest to weakest.

Part 2: After you have compiled your matrix, write a 500–700-word paper in Word format. This essay should explain and synthesize the information in your matrix. Defend why you have ranked each argument as either strong or weak. Apply APA standards to citation of sources

Pick 3 articles about Strategic Marketing Planning and write a summary about what you learned from them?

You will detect on the Internet what you find to be the most relevant resources for a business executive who would be interested in learning about strategic marketing planning. This can include book reviews, articles, blogs, podcasts, case studies, interviews, consultancies, videos, or others. To help you, think of keywords that would be most suitable.

Of course these are just some examples. I expect you to write a brief summary of three articles, in which you explain what we learn from them that is relevant to “strategic marketing planning”. Be sure to reference your sources properly, and include the exact links.

This should be a one-page single-spaced paper.

Outline and critical analysis of a play

***I do not plan on attending a local performance so a play would be just fine…

This week you will be completing an “Outline and Critical Analysis” of a play as illustrated at the end of chapter six in your text. It is best if you can find a local performance to attend, but if that is not possible, choose a significant play that has been filmed that is available through Youtube or Netflix or some other like source. Do not watch a film adaptation of a play. Watch a filmed performance of a play. You want the actual text of the play performed, not an abridged and rearranged version.

For a few examples, please navigate to the Additional Resources section of this course.

As with any art critique, you need to find a subject worth the critique. Do not go to see something or choose to watch something likely to be staged or performed poorly. Choose something that will redeem your time. If you aren’t sure, contact your professor.

For Week 6, you will be required to view a play and analyze it. If you are unable to attend a live performance, you will need to watch a filmed performance of a play, not a film adaptation of a play. Here is an example:

Other plays which have been filmed are George Benard Shaw’s Pygmalion, Tom Stoppard’s Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People.

You may also use your local library, Netflix, and other sources.

3. Answer the following questions:

  • Can you name any other architectural styles or elements he is responsible for?

Business Negotiations – assignment

Business Negotiations

Oranges Between the USA and Japan

The USA and Japan were in negotiations for a period of ten years, (1977 – 1988) over oranges. The Americans had certain goals that they wanted to accomplish in these negotiations. These goals included; exporting of American oranges in the Japanese market, demand that Japan liberalizes its market, and to eliminate the trade barriers in Japan. The Japanese also had their own goals that they wanted to accomplish in the negotiation process. These included; maintaining its positive image outside Japan, avoiding intervention from GATT (General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs), and to avoid sanctions from abroad.

Initially, the Japanese refused to negotiate right away, and started negotiating only when Americans threatened them that they would take the issue to GATT panel.Using Hofstede’s Model of Cultural Dimensions from our textbook, compare and contrast the cultural differences that might influence both parties.

  • Based on the cultural differences, develop a culturally responsive negotiation strategy for American negotiators to deal with Japanese negotiators.

It is not enough to state the law. You must also provide the facts that the court relied upon when reaching a decision where appropriate.

Below is an example of how this can be done:

  1. Wal-Mart Stores v. Cassias (Ch 1, p 17)
    1. What was the legal issue of the case?
      1. The legal issue of this case was ….
    2. What did the court decide?

Leadership – POV from a marketing manager, management homework help

INSTRUCTIONS: Please RESPOND to this answer from the Point of view as a student. Use credible sources and respond as if you are a member of a marketing agency. Tell this student what your agency would think of each of these answers:

Leadership is all about responsibility. Responsible leadership ensures the effectiveness of strategic management process. It provides the base line for strategic thinking and by providing vision it directs the organization towards strategy formulation. Leader is a person who possesses a clear vision in his/ her mind and also has the power to manage a team of people that can help to translate vision into reality. Leader is someone who can identify the need of situation and understand what is required now and in future. It is the duty of the leader to provide the instructions or directions to meet the requirements of situation. The most important role of leadership is to determine the goals and formulation of strategies related to those goals.

Leadership plays a vital role in the formulation and implementation of strategies. It is considered as a link that relates the strategic management process with the organization’s vision. It starts up the strategic thinking by providing vision then it establishes a culture in which everyone knows what to do, what are the values of the firm. Basically values provide the direction. It is the duty of leadership to introduce the values or a corporate culture. It is the vision of leader that provides base line for strategy formulation and its commitment ensure the implementation of strategy. Strategies can’t be implemented without the involvement of every one. Change should be communicated to everyone and should contribute their effort to efficiently implement the strategies. Only good leadership can inspire and motivate the people to bring change (Azhar, et al., n.d.).

My company, Institute, leaders have very clear vision and mission as to where they want to see the company in five years. They communicate this through company intranet, town hall meetings, and other social gatherings. They make sure all staff is aware of the company mission and vision which doesn’t get lost in day to day work. Also, in meetings, they constantly remind everyone by setting up goals, aspirations as to where they like to be and how they will get there. Another great quality of the leaders is that they will give detailed explanation on how each group will help company to get there.

To become a CEO requires education, experience. Gender, nationality, race etc. also will make a difference on resume. It also requires tolerance of ambiguity to perceive the situations as promising rather than threatening. In some respects, personality traits are also important. Now a day, international skills also will put person in top of the pool (Carpenter & Sanders, p. 38, 2008). In Institute, most of the leaders have international experience which is very much needed in today’s global economy. They all have graduate or doctorate level education and comprehensive experience in their fields. They all have very good soft skills but at the same time, risk takers with precautions and acknowledge hard work. One example of that is last year all the employees were given extra bonus due to great company performance which they could have easily spent somewhere else specially in these economic times.
