In Chapter 16 of Foner’s “Voices of Freedom,” you were asked to read

Doc. 102: William Graham Sumner on Social Darwinism and Doc. 106 Walter

Rauschenbusch and the Social Gospel. After reading Chapter 16 in Foner’s

“Give me Liberty!,” looking over the Ch. 16 Power Point, and reading

these documents, imagine that Sumner and Rauschenbusch are sitting

together in a room discussing the affects of industrialization which

include class divisions, lack of rights for workers, inequality, and

poverty.

In your original post, adopt the persona of either Sumner or

Rauschenbusch. Describe how that man would have felt about these issues

mentioned above. Would they have proposed solutions to these problems?

If so, why and how? And if not, why not? (It may help you to consider

the following questions when thinking about how to answer the discusson

prompt : How did the elite differ from the urban and rural poor on the

following questions: What social conditions make freedom possible? What

role should the government play in defining and protecting the liberties

of its citizens?)

For your reply, find a classmate who adopted the same persona as you

did in your original post. Adopt the persona of the opposite character

and refute the arguments they made.

Fine Arts Appreciation, paper assignment help

I am need of a paper for my Fine Arts Appreciation Class. I need it by Saturday, 29 Oct 16. Please use MLA format. I have provided the details below.

Overview

This assignment requires you to identify, describe, and analyze some work of visual art significant to your location or some place you have lived previously. The format of the assignment must be typed and double-spaced, must correspond with the list of questions below, and be submitted through the link below. The length is determined by thoroughly responding to each question. The final word count is not likely to be fewer than 500 words.

Topic

Pick any interesting work of art in the region where you currently live, or some place you have lived in the past. “Region” can be a state, the South, a country, an area where they speak a common language or share a common culture, etc. In other words, it’s fairly broadly defined.

The work you choose should be available for the public to see. It can be a work in a museum or gallery, a significant work of architecture, or a public monument.

The project must be in your own words. The first part is the only one that invites you to look up information. Everything else should reflect your own thought process.

“Art” is understood as coming from human imagination and craft. In other words, do not choose natural objects that have no application of human skill.

Questions

Your paper should clearly distinguish your answers. It is best to simply number your responses, and add nothing that does not belong in that section.

1. What work have you chosen and where is it? How old is it? Who is responsible for it? Provide relevant details about the medium/materials. Say exactly what sources were used for this information.

2. Provide a detailed description of the work. Assume your reader has not seen it, and you are trying to recreate it in their minds as accurately as possible.

3. Explain why you were drawn to this work.

4. Provide an analysis of the work. This should include a thesis statement and illustration or evidence to support that statement. This should be your longest answer.

An analysis can be many things. Sometimes it is looking for some meaning in the work (what is someone trying to say?), but it might also be a process of looking at how parts make up a whole. It might be a matter of looking at the larger context, how the work reflects the culture or historical period it belongs to (or contradicts those). It can also be viewed within the context of an artist’s other works.

The voice presentations under Lessons 4 and 8 are intended to provide samples of analytical approaches.

If you find it easiest to compare the work to something appropriate, that is often a useful technique for building an analysis.

Criteria

These will be graded on the following:

• Organization – the paper should be logically arranged according to the questions provided, with each section well-structure.

• Development – each section should have sufficient and relevant detail and thought.

• Clarity – I look at all elements of writing, so the paper should show attention to details like sentence structure, editing, formatting, punctuation, as well as word choice and tone.

• Subject Matter – the subject of your paper is up to you (within the boundaries described), but its significance and depth will help produce a fully developed paper. It should be appropriate to the course.

No credit will be given to plagiarized work. See plagiarism statement

Unit 7 Assignment: Memo

You are the human resource manager of a company that is experiencing a union organizing campaign. The company’s leadership team is looking to you to advise them on what the company can and cannot do during the campaign. In preparation for a leadership briefing, you prepare a 2–3 page memo that addresses the following areas:

A business memo is a document commonly used in the workplace to convey information to company employees. In that sense, it is an internal document, which means that, generally, the audience is internal to the company; it is not a form used for outside customers or clients.

The purpose of a memo, usually, is to inform employees of policies or other company-related matters, such as a change in personnel within departments, change in a process or procedure, or an upcoming company meeting.

View a memo example.

  1. What actually happens as a union organizing drive develops?
  2. What steps can the company legally take during the campaign?
  3. What actions should the company avoid to maintain compliance with the National Labor Relations Act?

The following are the minimum requirements to successfully complete the memo Assignment:

  • Use APA format and citation style and include an additional reference and title page.
  • Limit the use of direct quotations; instead, paraphrase and cite the author’s work.
  • Uses Standard English and demonstrates superior organization, communication is highly ordered, logical, and unified.

Here Is the EMAIL :

To: All Staff

From: Sybil Montrose, Manager

Subject: New Internet and Email Usage Policy Attached

I am writing this message to you all today to remind you about the company’s policy regarding emails and internet usage, as well as use of company devices, such as computers. The policy for the office is attached to the bottom of this message for reference and review. Please read it, sign it, and return it to me by March 1st before noon with your signature.

The decision to revisit these policies came about after the IT team informed the management that our computers are at risk of viruses and slowed-down servers because of misuse related to personal activities. These are activities that have ignored the internet and use policy attached below and have led to personal use of the systems such as downloading movies and music and overuse of social media.

These practices are not allowed, and while the company has always allowed for some flexibility and been flexible with the policy with regard to personal emails, should the results continue to be detrimental to the servers and systems, we will have to revisit that leniency. Rather than limit internet and email usage, the management has decided that an understanding amongst all would be a better solution.

This is the reason the internet policy is being sent out today. As noted at the start of this message, please read this, and once you understand it, return it signed. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me in person, or by email as you need.

Thank You,

Sybil Montrose
