lab report for physical science 110

ASSIGNMENT 1 and 2: LAB REPORTS

Due in Weeks 5 and 10 and worth 220 points each.

You are a scientist in your life and in the real world. Part of the fun of learning about the world and how it works is going beyond the text and seeing it for yourself in action.

This quarter you are studying 4 major fields of science: Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Astronomy. For two (2) of those fields, you will perform an experiment and create a lab report.

At the end of each chapter you are assigned to read this quarter, there are “ACTIVITIES (HANDS-ON APPLICATION)” where you can find your “experiment.”

Don’t let this be the only place you look! Venture to YouTube or the Science channel’s show “Outrageous Acts of Science.” If you have always wanted to put Mentos in a bottle of Diet Coke, this is the time! If you want an excuse to go camping or hiking, star gazing, or doing a geological study, these might just be the way to go. You could even make up one of your own! Include your family, your friends, your pets. Have fun!

Caution: Please make sure that you have the proper safety equipment when conducting any experiment. This generally includes, but is not limited to, eye protection in the form of goggles or safety glasses and clothing that is not loose fitting.

For each lab report you must:

  • Describe the purpose and hypothesis of the experiment. (What are you trying to prove or see?)
  • List/show the materials used.
  • Describe the procedure. (Describe the steps of the experiment and what you did so that a classmate could replicate these if they wanted.)
  • Describe and display the results. (What happened? Hint: Some of the data may be easier to show in charts or with graphics.)
  • Answer the following explanatory and interpretative questions:
    • Why do you think you achieved the results that you did?
    • Did anything unexpected happen?
    • Do the data/results support the hypothesis? Why? (Demonstrate using specific references to the data.)

This Lab Report may be submitted in any format: Video, PowerPoint (with notes pages as needed or screen captures as wanted), Word Document, etc., or any combination that would allow you to show not only the details of the experiment and data, but what you have learned from doing it. Use your own words throughout.

All assignments, regardless of format, must give citations, references, and/or credit and use 2-3 academic quality sources. For example, if it’s not an original experiment and you were inspired by someone else’s video, or copied it exactly, let us know which one, etc. The important thing is that your sources be documented clearly in a way that they can be checked by the reader (and verified by the instructor). APA style is recommended, but not required.

Note: The rubric listed below will be used to grade all Lab Reports, regardless of format.

ical and Professional Issues in Psychology Testing

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, please read the required textbook chapters and articles for this week.

Create a PowerPoint presentation with 16 to 20 slides (not including the title and reference slides) entitled Ethical and Professional Issues in Psychological Testing. Your presentation must provide 2 to 3 slides for each of the required topics and include appropriate citations of your referenced sources. Separate reference slides, which follow APA formatting guidelines for a References page, must be included at the end of the presentation. You must create your own template and organize your presentation in the sequence provided. Do not use a font smaller than 20 pt. You are encouraged to insert relevant figures and graphics. Make sure to appropriately cite any images you use. If you include a table or figure from a journal article, cite it according to APA guidelines. The notes section of each slide must include the text for oral comments you would make while presentating the materials to a live audience.

References must be cited according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. For assistance with creating a visually engaging and readable presentation, you may review Garr Reynolds’s tips for creating presentations (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..

The presentation must cover each of the following topics in the order presented below.

Lit. Review

: Every research proposal contains a literature review. The literature review demonstrates that you are familiar with the current research, and places
you as an expert in your field.

Moreover, the literature review substantiates the need for further research by examining the research that has been conducted
and identifying gaps in the current literature.

Prompt: To demonstrate your claim that your selected public health issue requires more research, you will conduct a literature review. You will critically
examine five research articles from peer-reviewed academic journals and summarize your findings.

Be sure to address the following:

● Describe the research designs employed in each study.

● Identify the research question in each study.

● What methods were used to collect and analyze data?

○ Please indicate if primary or secondary (or both) data sources were used in the study

.
● What were the main findings in each of the studies?

● What are the strengths and weaknesses of the studies?

○ In this section you will want to evaluate the research design and the data collection and analysis methods employed by the researcher.

● How do these studies inform your public health issue and the need for further research?

Guidelines for Submission: Your paper must be submitted as a 4-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, oneinch
margins, and all sources cited in APA format.

I need help urgently, 500 words.

You must write an essay (500 words minimum) in which you address the following two questions or topics:

and discuss the basic ideals and principles of American democracy and
how they are applied in our republican form of government.

Those
ideals and principles are discussed in the first and second chapters of
your textbook. You can also visit the following websites to read the
original document in which these fundamental values were first stated
and how they were later incorporated in the American Constitution:

  1. Identify the most important Supreme Court cases and executive actions and their impact on law and on our society.

The
history of the United States has been marked by the progressive
expansion of voting rights and the protection of its citizens through

reflection paper/developmental psychology

Please view the following short video introducing you to the field of developmental psychology:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O6z5-WTHt0

After viewing the video, please write a brief (3 pages excluding Title Page) reflection on what you have viewed. Unlike the remainder of the Brief Essays and the Final Paper in this course, this reflection paper is not meant to be a scholarly essay. You are not required to use outside sources or in-text citations in this assignment (although you may do so if you just wish to practice). This assignment is intended to help you become oriented to the course material and to reflect on your personal goals for the class.

Please answer the following questions and add any personal/professional experiences you may have that further illustrate your points:

  1. What previous experience, if any, do you have in the field of developmental psychology (remember that this doesn’t have to be professional experience; even babysitting or volunteering with the elderly exposes you to the populations we’ll be studying)?
  2. What topics are you most excited to study about in this course?
  3. Name three specific learning goals you have for the course (saying “I want to learn more about developmental psychology” is too general and will not qualify as a specific learning goal).
  4. Before delving into our text, do you have any previous knowledge of developmental theorists? If so, which one(s)?
  5. Do you believe that knowledge gained through this course could positively impact your personal and/or professional lives? If so, how?

I need a report done about 3 pages done about fake interviews

I need a 3-5 page report done on one of the fake interviews listed below. It is just an in depth analysis of the person’s business as if you were trying to figure out more about their small business and ask them a bunch of questions. Questions like What is the target market of your business? Info marketing and marking suggestions and etc… And maybe some of the problems you see and some ideas to fix them. Just pick one and roll with it. Thanks.

Capital Asset Pricing Model

The capital asset pricing model, or CAPM, is used to price an individual security or portfolio. The general idea behind CAPM is that investors should be compensated in two ways, for the time value of their money and risk incurred. The model helps investors calculate risks and what type of return they should expect on their investment. The time money value is represented by the risk-free rate, usually a 10-year government bond yield, and compensates the investors for placing money in an investment over a period of time. That is added to the other half of the formula which represents risk. It calculates the amount of compensation the investor needs for taking on additional risk. This is done by taking a Beta, which measures a stock’s volatility, and multiplies by its premium. The premium is calculated by subtracting the risk-free rate of return from the expected return of the market. For example, the expected return of a stock can be figured out in the following way using a model. If the risk-free rate is 3% the Beta or risk measure of the stock is 3 and the expected market return over the period is 11%. The stock is expected to return 27%. In short, if the expected return does not make the risk worth it, the investment should not be made.

Respond to the following questions:

  • You are the chief financial officer (CFO) of a multi-physician clinic. Do you see weaknesses or strengths in the capital asset pricing model (CAPM)? Explain your response and support it with examples. Include a consideration of the small market line (SML).
  • Your chief executive officer (CEO) asks you to decide between debt and equity financing. Explain which the best option is. Discuss the factors that influence your decision.

cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

Your initial posting should be addressed at 300-500 words. Be sure to cite your sources using APA format.

Community Engagement Plan

It is important to build and maintain relationships with business leaders and other members of the community to create connected learning opportunities for the children and families in your program.

Create a community engagement plan for your program that includes:

  • A summary of why the community partnership is important
  • An outline of two events or communication strategies to be used to build a community partnership
  • A summary of how the program will use the events or strategies to sustain the partnership overtime. (HINT: “Community Day” events can certainly be effective, but try to think beyond the singular events and move into on-going partnerships).
  • Need 2 pages
  • not include the reference and title page

Weekly Discussion 2

For this discussion, you will address the following prompts:

  • Explain at least five differences between popular and scholarly sources used in research.
  • Locate and summarize one peer-reviewed, scholarly source from the Ashford University Library and one popular source that pertain to your Final Paper topic. In your summary of each article, comment on the following: biases, reliability, strengths, and limitations.

From the sources you summarized, list and explain at least five visual cues from the peer-reviewed, scholarly source that were not evident in the popular source.

Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length, which should include a thorough response to each prompt. You are required to provide in-text citations of applicable required reading materials and/or any other outside sources you use to support your claims. Provide full reference entries of all sources cited at the end of your response. Please use correct APA format when writing in-text citations
