Education Research Proposal: Lack of male teachers and poor literacy scores in year 2 boys

Hello,

Please write a research proposal on a question similar to this one. “Is there a relationship between the lack of primary school male teachers in Australia and the lower overall literacy levels of boys to girls in year 2 students”.

Please, remember this is a proposal so no need for answers or to show data.

I have attached a proposal I wrote a while ago, please use this one as an example of how to set it out.

Your research proposal should outline:

  1. Research area (the context in which your research question has emerged)
  2. Research problem or issue (problem statement or topic; what the study is about)
  3. Research question and sub-questions (the overarching research question in which you are interested and the sub-questions important to the overarching research question)
  4. Significance of the study (what contributions are made to knowledge and practice)
  5. Literature review (a summary and critical analysis of previous research and how it relates to this study). At least 8 references (journal articles, books, book chapters, policy documents) are included, appropriately presented. In-text citations are also required.
  6. Research plan/design and research methods (outline of the research paradigm/research perspective; summary of the proposed research methods to answer your research questions)
  7. Data collection procedure and data analysis (the nature and sources of the data to be collected; what data will be collected, how and where the data will be collected, and how the data collected will be analysed)

The following criteria will be used in marking

  • Clear explanation of a research area. 5%
  • Clear identification of a problem statement or topic. 5%
  • Clear articulation of a feasible research question and sub-questions. 5%
  • Clear explanation of the project significance. 5%
  • Clear summary and review of relevant literature. 10%
  • Clear description and rationale for an appropriate research design and research methods. 10%
  • Clear description of data collection procedures and data analysis appropriate for this project. 5%

The purpose of the project is to create a playable carnival game that can be used to calculate theoretical probabilities of winning prizes. For this project, students may choose three to four group members. Students will design a carnival game and determine the theoretical probability of winning the game using models. Students will also determine the expected profit for the game.

Step 1: Choose carnival game.

Your group needs to choose a carnival game that you can build/create yourself and that involves probability to win prizes. Please note that no two groups will be allowed to build the same carnival game. The following are suggestions for carnival games. You don’t have to use one of these ideas, but your game must be approved by me and must be school-appropriate in all aspects.

  • Ring Toss – using 2-liter bottles as the targets and a ring made of rope or plastic
  • Bean Bag Toss – using a target made out of plywood or foam with a hole in it to toss a beanbag through
  • Can Knockdown – using cans to create a pyramid with a rubber ball being used to knock down the cans
  • Bucket Toss – created by attaching 3 or 4 small buckets or cans to a board about 6 inches apart and having players try to toss a ball into the buckets in order from the closest to the farthest away
  • Number Wheel – make a spinner that contains numbered sections or sections that identify prizes
  • Dice Game – uses dice built by hand and labeled as you want for the purpose of the game

To complete this part of the project, your group must submit a written proposal for your game. Remember that no two groups will be allowed to complete the same carnival game – first come, first serve. Your written proposal should describe your carnival game, the materials it will take to build your carnival game, and a basic summary of the rules of your game that will determine how a player wins a prize from your game. Include a list of specific group member’s responsibilities.

Step 2: Build carnival game and create the rules of play.

Your group needs to actually build/create your carnival game. Your carnival game can take up no more space than 4 square feet. You must provide whatever is necessary to play your game such as a rubber ball, a bean bag, a ring, etc. You will need to create the rules that govern how your game is played and how players will win prizes. You need to write your rules on poster board so they can be displayed with your game.

Step 3: Calculate the theoretical probabilities.

Your group will need to calculate the theoretical probabilities of the various outcomes for your game using the probability rules we have been studying. As always, justification/explanation must be provided for all numbers and calculations.

Step 4: Calculate expenses, revenue, and profit.

Your group needs to calculate the expected profit from your game if 230 people were to play it. You will need to gather/determine the following information to calculate this value: the cost of the materials to build your game, the cost of prizes and the expected number of prizes that will be won, and the amount you would charge to play your game if it were at a true carnival. As always, justification/explanation must be provided for all numbers and calculations.

Woman’s Right Movement

This course project will be focused on the Women’s Rights Movement and how it impacted the American society.

This week you will submit the proposal for your course project. It should include the following components:

  1. Description of the Women’s Rights Movement, why you have
chosen it, what you already know about it, and what you hope to learn
    through your research.
  2. One-page, double spaced.
  3. Title page that includes the working title for your project.
  4. Reference list with at least three scholarly sources about your
topic. These scholarly sources should be articles or books obtained from
the Rasmussen Library databases. Be sure that the components to your paper are properly formatted in APA. You can find resources on APA formatting here.

Literary-analysis

Hello, you helped me to write my first paper for this class and I have attached it below in the attachments. However, the paper that I am needing help with now is my final paper for this class.

Write an analysis of a key character in a literary work. Focus on two or three key actions of that character. Discuss the character’s motivations and decisions in terms you can support with clear evidence from a critical reading of the text. Consider whether this character’s actions fit together or contradict each other. You may also want to consider whether or not any other characters in the story are aware of this conflict, and if so, how they influence the character you are writing about.

“Interpreter of Maladies” (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (Jhumpa Lahiri, 1999)

Guiding Questions:

  1. How does a new outsider community member like Mrs. Das influence Mr. Kapasi, who seems to have become bored with his life and his role in the community?
  2. How does Mr. Kapasi’s desire for Mrs. Das make him unable to understand Mrs. Das’ desires, leading to his failure to fulfill his role as the Interpreter of Maladies?
  3. How do the Das family’s actions surrounding their children show that their desires or interests do not accord with their obligations?

Why Write a Literary Analysis?

Literature teaches us about the value of conflict. We experience conflict in our personal relationships and in our interactions with society. A literary analysis helps us recognize the conflict at work in literature; this gives us greater insight into the personal conflicts that we face. In addition, learning how to closely read, analyze, and critique a text is beneficial beyond a literature course in that it improves our writing, reading, and critiquing abilities overall.

How to Write a Literary Analysis

It is important to understand that some conflicts in literature might not always be obvious. Considering how an author addresses conflict via literary techniques can reveal other more complex conflicts or different kinds of conflicts that interact in multiple ways. Analyzing those more complicated elements can help you discover what literature represents about the human experience and condition. With this in mind, consider that your thesis might be a claim about how conflict is represented in a work, whether through character, setting, or tone. This is not a personal reflection on conflict in general or a conflict you face but an analysis of how literary elements are used to express a conflict in a given literary work—in this case, a short story.

The literary analysis should be organized around your rough draft and thesis statement. Your thesis is the controlling idea of the entire essay. In the Week One assignment you submitted a proposal in which you chose a topic based on the List of Writing PromptsView in a new window. You also identified a short story to analyze from the List of Literary WorksView in a new window. In Week Two you compiled an annotated bibliography in which you identified your primary and secondary sources. In Week Three, you created a rough draft and revised your working thesis. You also incorporated research into this draft.

Assignment Instructions

In this assignment, you will refine that thesis and essay even further and develop your argument. You are required to incorporate your instructor’s feedback in your Final Paper and to take peer feedback into consideration.

In your paper,

  • Create a detailed introduction that contains a thesis that offers a debatable claim based on one of the prompts on the list.
  • Apply critical thought by analyzing the primary source you selected from the approved List of Literary Works. Avoid summary and personal reflection.
  • Develop body paragraphs that contain clear topic sentences and examples that support the argument.
  • Write a conclusion that reaffirms the thesis statement and includes a summary of the key ideas in essay.
  • Apply your knowledge of literary elements and other concepts in your response to the prompt. Reference the list of literary techniquesView in a new window found in Week Two of the course and discussion forums.
  • Incorporate research from the primary and secondary sources.
