ece311 week 4 discussion 1 RESPONSE f.g.

Respond in 5 sentences or more by addressing one of the challenges your classmate posted. Describe in detail how you would address this challenge in your own classroom.

An Early Childhood classroom is the start of a child. They will be exposed to many things but one of the most important things that they are exposed to are safety rules. Something that I always say in my class every day is “be nice friends” it’s a constant reminder to my children that they can’t be fighting. They are young and most of them, their first instinct is to hit, bite or harm their peer. I have several books that I read to my children that help them understand better. Examples of this books are: Teeth are not for biting, Feet are not for kicking, Tails are not for pulling, hands are not for hitting. These books are very helpful at the beginning of the year and as the year goes by. It helps children understand and gives examples of what they are supposed to be doing. We also teach them not to run inside the classroom and that we don’t scream. The way I correct this is by providing activities and using examples that will help them understand why this is wrong. It’s a constant reminder and I never let it slide by because then they will think its okay for them to do it. What I have noticed that works the best for me is that I always explain to the child why their action is wrong, not by screaming but by explain what the negative outcome of their actions can be.

Discussion Board The second comment is to Allyson Floyd

As you continue your education you will have opportunities to seek a position on a temporary basis or for a permanent job.

When you are interviewed and the prospective employer asks for access to your Facebook account what would your reaction be?

*Please write 130 words at least about the above one as ur opinion

* Also, Please write two comments about my classmates. Each of them at least 50 words

The First comment is to Betto Brai

As far as the job is much important than that of a Facebook account, I will go for accessing it. Because i don’t thing i am hiding an atomic explosion in that! Facebook is a private profile, but when the company head or prospective employee ask for it we have no option. Because we are going to work for them, if we neglect to do that they will understand that we are not going to obey them in future. This may impart a figure that we will not stay with the company commands and rules. And I think it’s time for us keep our Facebook account in a mature way. Especially on things we share and watch.

The second comment is to Allyson Floyd

I feel as if the employer has a right to see what you have on your social media. When working for someone you represent them and their company. Yes it is your personal page but if all you post is half naked pictures and post about how you hate your job that reflects poorly on the company you work for. We are all at the awkward age where some of our friends are getting married and starting careers and others who still go out and get drunk every weekend, there for I think it is time for us to start maturing and watching what we post on social media because in todays time that is how we all communicate and advertise . So yes I personally feel the employer has every right to see what you are posting online.

Identify top trends in your industry

Your initial meeting with your new boss went very well and you are now working in a department that supports the company’s strategic planning for growth in the industry. Your department head has asked you to do research from a newcomer’s perspective to inform existing company marketing directions. He has asked you to write a short paper detailing the three top trends in the industry and focus on what you think is the most important issue in these trends. He is hoping to use your research to position your department to launch a new strategic plan.

This is your first real task and you are excited and a little nervous about the assignment. You think you have a sense of the industry but know you need to do more research to be accurate in your analysis. The ability to spot trends in your industry is an important skill, and your boss wants to spend energy and capital on new growth areas, products, and services. Writing for Entrepreneur, Spader (2007) offers ideas about how to Spot the Latest Trends.

Your assignment is to produce an essay of 1,000-1,300 words in which you identify three trends in your industry, discuss them briefly, and then focus on a single issue that is especially important. You are to provide citations for at least SIX RESOURCES. These should be a mix of journal articles from the UMUC library, and pertinent and valid websites or online materials pertaining to your trends. You will cite your sources’ ideas properly in correct APA format.

Research on Enterprise Architecture Platform as a Service PaaS using Dell case study

Over more than 10 years, platform as a service (PaaS) has evolved, to become a Cloud Computing model that delivers applications over the Internet. This is a very simplistic, generic, and high technology level design explanation of how an enterprise’s ICT services are developed. This PaaS technology advancement are currently disrupting enterprises at the strategic and operating levels. Enterprises have started to integrate this ICT service design paradigms and cloud computing capabilities, to develop sustainable “platform enabling” business strategies and new value adding business products/services that are highly appealing to customers. As a result, the latest hot trend is platform strategies and building business ecosystems. Digital platforms are reshaping enterprises and event at industry levels into interconnected ecosystems that define competitiveness and business sustainability.

Use the Dell case study to answer these questions.

(a) Conduct research on this new “platform strategy” trend and use your research findings to evaluate with justifications if Dell is also adopting a platform strategy in its EA development and deployment approach. (20 marks)

(b) If DELL has adopted a PaaS technology, describe this platform strategy using EA integration concepts, information from the case study and research findings. If Dell has not, propose and describe how one such strategy can be taken on by Dell. (20 marks)

Ageism and Regulating Off Duty Conduct

Ageism

The purpose of this discussion is to give you the opportunity to apply
ethical theories to the complex issue of Ageism in the workplace,
particularly in the area of employment. In the modern workplace there
appear to be three key issues which address ageism in employment; some
of which has been exacerbated by recent economic issues and an aging
population: Older job seekers fight ageism as a barrier to
re-employment; younger job-seekers have trouble obtaining career entry;
and last, evidence in many countries highlight that older worker
employment and youth employment are not connected in any way. This last
point is generally known in economics as the “Lump of Labor Fallacy.”
This seems counter-intuitive to personal belief and perceptions
perpetuate a view that if older workers are employed in a tight labor
market, then they must be occupying the jobs of the country’s youth.
Prepare and post a response to the following prompt:

Using at least one ethical perspective or theory from the text and one
item of scholarly evidence, present an argument to a group of younger
workers (regarding older worker and youth employment) that refutes the
notion that older workers take employment from the young.

Regulating Off Duty Conduct

The purpose of this discussion is to give you the opportunity to apply
ethical theories and perspectives to modern issues of the workplace.
Off-duty conduct away from the workplace can be monitored and reported
in many ways and with the increase in social media use, there will be
far greater opportunities for employers to become aware of what
employees get up to outside of the workplace. While some types of
behaviors are especially concerning as they may have on-duty
consequences, there are other types of off-duty behavior which are more
difficult to clearly define as grossly inappropriate to warrant employer
intervention. But who draws this line and what are the ethical
implications of where the line is drawn? Prepare and post a response to
the following prompt:

Using the resources provided, your own research, and your knowledge of
the ethical concepts from the text, consider the issue of off-site
monitoring of conduct:

  1. Are there different levels of concerning conduct and should they be treated differently?
  2. What are the issues for the employer? Using one ethical theory
or perspective, to help support the employer’s viewpoint, and use a
    scholarly resource as your evidence.
  3. What about the employee’s viewpoint? Use one ethical theory or
perspective to support the employee’s right to privacy outside of work,
and use a scholarly resource as your evidence.
  4. If your boss asked about your off-duty activity, how would you
respond? Share your un-emotional, well defined, evidence-based, response
to your boss to support your viewpoint.

Digital Marketing Plan

At this point, your team has developed a Marketing Plan (See Attached) to support your marketing division and justify an additional capital investment from corporate headquarters to move forward. Digital marketing is a critical part of marketing strategies today because of the prevalence of social media and other web-based technologies, online media outlets, and mobile Internet and applications.

Based on the current position of your new division in the simulation and your goals for coming quarters analyze the market research data, competitive data, and real-world digital marketing options to develop a summarized digital marketing plan for your division that benefits growth and considers competition. In 600-750 words, address the following:

  1. Digital marketing options for your division: Discuss the decision to shift all or a portion of your division’s promotional budget in the simulation to digital marketing. Consider factors including B2B verses B2C considerations in digital media, target market coverage, exposure, analytics, and costs.
  2. Digital media impact: How would the addition of digital media options influence your division’s overall promotional plan?
  3. Digital media types and options: Include examples of specific social media platforms, blogs, websites, applications, etc. and include a justification for each based on your division’s goals. Use real-world data by researching the outlets/platforms, reviewing media kits when available, and citing available sources on exposure, targeting options, etc.
  4. Monitor digital media: How will you monitor effectiveness and adjust your strategy based on your division’s goals?

You are required to include both academic and professional references (e.g., data on analytics, platform use data) to justify your plan.
