As part of your Unit 2 assignment, you identified the basic components of an emergency operations plan (EOP). While EOPs generally follow the format provided by FEMA, which includes a base plan, annexes, and hazard-specific guidance, the plans will vary based on geographical threats and whether the planning team decided to organize the plan using the 8 Core Functional Annexes or the 15 Emergency Support Function Annexes. Your reading this week from FEMA, Developing and Maintaining Emergency Plans, will provide you an understanding of the different approaches to planning.

This discussion will focus on the various approaches in the development of an EOP and considerations that go into developing an EOP. Select one of the emergency plans linked in Resources and address the questions included in the instructions.

Within the past few years, Reality TV has become a staple in the
homes of people not just in America but around the world. Many
celebrities have given in to the undeniable effect of Reality TV,
choosing to have their own lives played out in front of the lens. The
term “Reality TV Star” has been coined and is now being uttered on the
lips of millions. However one feels about Reality TV, this wave of
entertainment seems to be here to stay.

While form of low art achieves wild popularity and brings in
significant profits to networks, attendance to Broadway theater
performances is also at an all-time high. Perhaps low art and high art
can thrive simultaneously.

What do you think will be the lasting impact that Reality TV has on
the Humanities and how we see ourselves as humans? Based on what you
learned about the theater (which was not always considered high art) in
this week’s readings, what may be some future similarities and
differences between Reality TV and the theater?

Start your blog by explaining, in your own words, what logical fallacies are and why they should be avoided in persuasive writing. For example, how might logical fallacies affect a writer’s appeal to ethos and logos? How is a fallacious argument different from a bad argument?

Then, find and identify at least three fallacies in one (or more) persuasive piece. Good places to locate logical fallacies are in advertisements, political speeches, letters to the editor, cartoons, and articles in magazines or newspapers.
