A final paper of A Creative Writing Course

Paper topic must relate to the course but is otherwise open; it may concern a single writer, a selection of writers, or a general writing topic that came out of course discussions.

The paper should DEFINITELY engage the unique aspects of this course. I do NOT just want an expanded book report on one book you read for this semester, or worse yet a pastiche of reviews you find out online about one of the books. Your paper for THIS course should definitely reference the opportunity you had to hear the authors read and to speak with them.

Just to be clear, when I say the papers must relate to the course, I mean that the readings and conversations should be referenced and your own observations and insights should be included. Just giving me a biographical report on one (or more) of the writers with a synopsis of one of their books would not be course-specific.

The above are the requirements of the final paper.

Paralegal – Discussion

You have all been hired by a law firm that is in difficulty. The firm was seriously understaffed for several months and the communications to clients were not done well. Several disciplinary proceedings have been brought against attorneys in the firm.

  • Discuss the Role of Paralegals in Communicating with Clients Clearly and Ethically. Make sure you use your text and your guidelines (canons and rules) in your responses.
  • View the video below and add it to the discussion thread and how you feel about this attorney’s view on communication.
  1. They did not communicate at all with some clients. When calls, texts, and emails from clients were not answered for weeks, clients assumed the worst and notified the state disciplinary authorities. The attorneys’ defenses are generally that clients should not have panicked, the cases just take time, and the clients should drop the proceedings since the cases are okay.
  2. The lawyers allowed paralegals to deliver legal advice to some clients. Sometimes the paralegals signed letters of advice and other times verbally gave advice. This has resulted in disciplinary proceedings. The attorneys claimed that they “checked on and approved” the advice before it was given, but that defense is not working.
  3. Still other clients claim that the law firm sent letters, signed by lawyers, but the communication method was unprofessional. The letters just said things like, “enclosed are documents…” and listed the titles of documents sent. The documents were not understandable to these clients.

What principles should the law firm follow to avoid these problems in the future? Cite your sources from the text and professional responsibility codes. Collaborate on solutions. Think!

need help writing a creative narrative.

Write a creative story. It might be a report of a real experience (creative nonfiction) or it might be imaginary (fiction). It might be somewhere between the two (which is still called fiction). The story will have a beginning, middle, and end, and your first draft will be approximately 800 words. Let me re-emphasize something here that is sometimes troublesome: The story must have an end. Don’t start typing your magnum opus future dystopia trilogy and then hand me the beginning of chapter one on the day it’s due. Write a complete story that takes 800 words to tell.

There are three limitations to what you write about.

  1. Do not write stories that mock or belittle other students, faculty, or staff at the college.
  2. Do not write stories that condone hate speech or hate crimes.
  3. And, for my sake, please do not write stories about people getting chased around by monsters. I’m tired of reading those. Please also note that I consider human monsters to be part of this: someone stalking a person on the way home, serial killers, etc. Even writing this, I am already bored
  4. Sometimes stories can tackle sensitive or intense subject matter. This is okay. However, do take a moment to consider that we will be doing a peer review of these stories, and other students will see your work. Subjects that might be interesting to you might be traumatic to others, who may have a personal history of injury around the topic you’ve chosen. I appreciate it if the author can make a note of this at the top of the page. Something like, “This story contains a scene of graphic battlefield violence,” can help.Furthermore, if you feel uncomfortable reading a story, you can pass on peer reviewing it. I want people to be able to write the stories that are important to them, and I also want to respect the boundaries of the audience. Hopefully, we can accomplish both.

Leadership Behavior

Think about a time you encountered negative leadership behavior. Based on that experience, write an essay that proposes your recommendations on how the quality of leadership in that situation could have been improved. Your essay will encompass the elements of critical thought and good writing. You will write in the first person for this assignment.

In your essay, include the following:

 The details of the experience you choose to study.

 An analysis of the leadership behavior in the situation.

 Recommendations for how to improve the leadership behavior.

 Research that supports both your negative assessment of the leadership behavior and your recommendations for improving the behavior.

Your paper must be 1,800 to 2,400 words in length, not counting the reference and title pages. It must be well written and supported by at least four scholarly or peer-reviewed references, two of which must be outside of the readings used in this course (the CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these sources). Be sure your entire paper, including your title and reference pages, are formatted according to CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.

Argument essay 1200 Words

Firstly, look at the essay “VIDEO GAME PLAYING AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN COLLEGE STUDENTS”.

For the argument essay, you will write an essay in which you cite at least three secondary sources in addition to the primary source. Your thesis must be supported through the use of at least three academic sources. These sources may include journal articles and books (not general encyclopedias) Absolutely no internet sources, including Wikipedia, may be used. All of the sources must be correctly cited in the essay and on the works cited page, using MLA 8 format.

The essay, like all other well-written essays, must have an introduction, a well-developed body, and a conclusion that is well-balanced.

The essay is to address a general audience.

In the introduction, introduce the general topic, mention the author’s name and the title of the primary source give a very brief, one to two sentence summary of the article and the author’s thesis, and, of course, your own thesis.

Each supporting paragraph must be well-developed, using pertinent examples and thorough explanations.

You must have at least one counter-argument that you refute with specific evidence. Use the handbook in the back of your textbook or an MLA 8 handbook for MLA8citations.

Highlight the sections you quoted. summarized. or paraphrased on all photocopies and in the essay itself.

Week 8 Final Project Component 4 : HLTH 8110 exploring Health education in the 21st century

Determining which evidence-based and appropriate strategies and methodologies that are best suited to your health education program requires extensive research. The health educator will need to consider the health issue of interest, the target population, as well as other factors that may influence the effectiveness and success of a health education program. Other factors such as resource availability, socio-demographics, and environmental concerns will help to inform how a health education program will ensure the promotion of health and well-being. Essentially, the strategies and methodologies outline how health educators will enact health promotion through the delivery of their health education program.

Consider the scenario:

Marcia is a health educator who has just finished drafting a proposal for a new health education program for the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) in her community. She has identified the main health issue she would like to address, developed a proposed budget and personnel worksheet, and has also outlined her proposed framework for cultivating individual motivation and behavior modification. Although Marcia feels that her proposal is robust in terms of meriting approval, she is wondering if it would be beneficial to outline her strategies or methodologies to make her program work. For example, would her program benefit from a group participation approach similar to a roundtable discussion or would her program be best delivered as a workshop? Should she invite speakers from both outside and inside the community to relay information as it applies to potential health services or might that be too much for her proposed program? What curriculum (new or existing) could be included in her program?

For this Assignment, review the Point Mar Case Study provided in this week’s Learning Resources. With your health education program from Week 6 in mind, research evidence-based and appropriate health education strategies/methodologies that you would implement. Reflect on how the evidence-based support contributes to the effectiveness of the strategies and/or methodologies that you will select.

The Assignment: (2 pages)

  • Explain which evidence-based and appropriate health education strategies/methodologies you would select for your health education program and why. Be sure to include peer-reviewed journal articles that establish the evidence-based research for your health education strategies and/or methodologies that you select.
  • Explain how the role of the health educator may vary based on the strategies/methodologies you selected. Be specific and provide examples.

Important ideas are pieces of information you believe are vital to the author’s message. In the margin, write any thoughts, connections, predictions, or questions.

Challenging passages are instances in the text where you got confused. In the margin, write down what about the passage confused you–was it the language used, the sentence structure, an unfamiliar reference, etc?

A golden line is the MOST important sentence for you in the text. In the margin, write why you think the sentence (or two) you identified is important.

Important words are words you think are important to the author’s message. Identify 5 and jot down a definition in the margin. Alternatively, you can identify unfamiliar words that you have not seen before or maybe you just forgot the definition.

Once you have identified these FOUR pieces, you will take a pictures of them in your book and upload them here. To get full credit, you need pictures of 3-4 important ideas, 1-2 challenging passages, 1-2 golden lines, and 3-5 important or unfamiliar words.
