You will select a research topic, generate researchable questions, review relevant literature, describe participant selection procedures, identify data collection methods, address potential ethical problems, and describe limitations of your research proposal. This assignment is the second step toward completing your final research proposal in Week 6. Drawing on your topic area and problem statement from Step 1, develop a 5-6 page literature review using between 5-7 scholarly resources, including mostly research studies related to your topic. Information should be drawn from appropriate sources, such as professional journals, books, and dissertations. Your sources should include at least two dissertations. Writing a literature review requires not only summarizing individual studies, but also involves an examination or evaluation of studies in relation to the topic or research area. Some common purposes of literature reviews include: identifying and outlining relevant and existing knowledge on a topic; identifying gaps in research; evaluating and synthesizing information available in line with your own research topic; justifying a rationale for your own research; and evaluating current research. In this preliminary literature review, provide the following:

• What, in general, is already known about the research problem that you selected? Cite other studies and scholarly resources in synthesizing and summarizing what is known.
• What is not known related to your research problem?
• Your literature review should justify your study—is there a hole in what is known that you can fill with your study? Make a case for why conducting your proposed study would answer a problem that is not already well understood.
• Information should be drawn from appropriate sources, such as professional journals, books, and dissertations. Information gathered from sources must be appropriately cited, following APA guidelines.

Remember that your literature review in your Final Research Proposal will need to be a minimum of 8 pages, so please be sure to continue working on this section during Weeks 3-6.

This final paper represents five modules of planning, research, writing, and revising. The work you have done on your topic throughout this class has prepared you to proofread and revise your paper a final time before you submit it for grading.

Use the checklist, grading criteria, and other resources in this module to review and revise your work. In particular, be sure to check your work for content and cohesiveness.

• Does your paper have a clear argument that is expressed through your thesis statement?
• Do all of the paragraphs in your paper work to support that argument?
• Have you used appropriate resources to lend support and credibility to your argument?
• Does your paper address opposing points of view, and does it respond to those opposing points?

As you conduct your final revision, take into account any feedback you’ve received on earlier pieces of your paper. Also try to put yourself in your readers’ shoes as you review your work. After a number of modules dealing with this topic, you are probably quite familiar with the nuances of your own paper. As you review your work, think about how your essay might be received by someone who is not as familiar with the issues you discuss. Try to make your paper as clear and straightforward as possible so your points can be readily understood.

The final version of your paper should be between 8–10 pages in length and cite at least 8 reliable sources using APA format.

Upon retiring, he was hired as a production supervisor for SII. Another professional liability topic is avoidance of negligence. As defined by Dynamics in nursing, negligence is the act of “Careless or improper behavior that results in damage” (Green, 2018). When a nurse does something wrong or omits care, both are considered negligent behavior, causing harm to a patient.

Demonstration of professionalism by a nurse can be noticed when the nurse maintains patient confidentiality. A nurse can be fined and face jail time if she/he violates the federal HIPPA law. A few specific rules outlined by Green in dynamics in nursing are do not share information with coworkers not related to the patient’s care, keep written information, such as charts, out of public view, and release information only with written authorization by the patient or legal guardian (Green, 2018).
