This time, I want you to compose your own headings based on each of the individual sections in the directions for the essay. Then, present your material for each of those sections under the headings they apply to. So, next make a heading for the next section:

And then present your material that explains in what way information and news media do or do not have social responsibility.

Keep the sections separate and address them in the same order given in the directions. This will maintain good organization for your essay.

Conclusion

Always include a formal conclusion on all your APA papers (Yes, even if the directions do not mention it). The Conclusion reflects on why the information you presented in your paper is important. In this case, it summarizes thoughts on whether the entertainment media are a reflection of or a catalyst for societal behaviors and attitudes. Review important points appropriate to the conclusion (see rubric below).

Notes:

• APA essays are formal compositions. Avoid informal language. Do not write as if this is an informal book report for class. Avoid writing phrases like, “our text says” or “I think.” Try to write in the style of a journal article as if the reader is not in our class. Use APA citations in place of “our text says.” Base your essay on our readings and not your opinion.

Each student will choose an interpersonal relationship to focus on during the session. The person chosen should be someone the student interacts with on a regular basis. As we study gender roles and social change, it is important to understand the agencies and organizations that work to either maintain the status quo or work to facilitate social change. To investigate these entities and the issues with which they work, I want you to select an issue and find an organization on each side of the debate. The instructions that follow will provide you with a framework with which to present the issue and its many sides.
