PSy 620 week one Generating a Personal Learning Epistemology, philosophy homework help

Generating a Personal Learning Epistemology

Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read the “Personal Epistemology in Education” article in your text (p. 52), the Bendixen and Rule (2004) and Hofer (2006) articles in the Ashford University Library, and watch the What is Epistemology? Introduction to the Word and the Concept video required for this week

As suggested in the required articles and video for this assignment, the definition of what a personal epistemology is has been debated. However, developing a personal learning epistemology is important because it is foundational to how we think. Without a multifaceted understanding of how we obtain knowledge, how we rely on our intelligences, and how we expand ideas in our minds, we have no intelligible path for our beliefs. A rigorous learning epistemology is essential to comprehensive reasoning and thinking.

  • What can we know?
  • How can we know it?
  • What do/should individuals need to learn, and why?
  • What purpose(s) should education serve?
  • How do you believe persons acquire knowledge best?
  • What image of society and the kinds of adults that populate it seems to correspond with your vision of knowing/learning?
  • What do you believe about the way students learn and why they may (or may not) want to learn?
  • Why do we know some things but not others?
  • How do we acquire knowledge?
  • Is knowledge possible?
  • Can knowledge be certain?
  • How can we differentiate truth from falsehood?
  • Why do we believe certain claims and not others?
  • According to Plato, knowledge is a subset of that which is both true and believed. Do you agree or disagree?

After developing basic answers to the questions above and considering the impact of understanding how one’s own conscience awareness of knowledge and learning may affect individual development and beliefs manifestations, research a minimum of five peer-reviewed articles in the Ashford University Library that can be used as support sources for your personal learning epistemology. Your learning epistemology must include six to seven key points with supporting rationales regarding your beliefs on learning and knowing.

Apply professional standards to your explanation regarding how knowledge is developed by providing references for any theoretical perspectives, historical trends, and/or empirical findings you include in your epistemology. Additionally, your personal epistemology should be an authentic and truthful explanation about your current beliefs about learning and knowing, as supported by your research, and not merely reflective of what you think your instructor or peers want to hear.

The paper should not include any elaborate quotes; it should be scholarly in nature with citations throughout. It is recommended that you submit your paper to both Writing Reviser and Turnitin prior to submission for grading. Please note that you will include a revised draft of this epistemology, based on instructor feedback as well as your own knowledge development during this course, as part of your Learning and Cognition Handbook.

The paper:

  • Must be three to four double-spaced pages in length, not including the title or references pages, and formatted according to APA style

Written Assignment What are the legal issues?

The writing assignment asks you to analyze a scenario and decide
whether law enforcement officers follow Fourth Amendment procedural
rules in gathering evidence. First, read the scenario below.

Your
neighbor Dan has recently been arrested and charged with manufacture
and possession of methamphetamine in violation of your state’s law. The
charges are based on evidence that police officers found in Dan’s
garbage can, including glass bottles and jars, metal cans, plastic
tubing, empty Pseudoephedrine cardboard boxes, and household use
batteries with residue matching the chemical compounds of
methamphetamine. Dan placed the garbage can at the curb for weekly
garbage pickup. A police officer riding with the garbage truck driver
picked up Dan’s garbage – Dan’s garbage was kept separated from all
other garbage.

Based on the items found in Dan’s garbage can,
police officers prepared and obtained a search warrant to search Dan’s
house where they found additional evidence of illegal narcotics.

Dan’s
attorney plans on filing a motion in court, asking the court to
suppress/exclude the evidence found in Dan’s garbage can on the basis
that the police officers violated Dan’s Fourth Amendment rights when
they took his garbage.

For your
written assignment this week, you are to write a paper identifying the
legal issues and discussing Dan’s procedural rights in the case. Be sure
to support your discussion and analysis with research:

  • Explain whether the wording of “persons, house, papers and effects” in the Fourth Amendment applies to Dan’s garbage.
  • Has
there been a search or seizure within the meaning of the Fourth
Amendment in this case?In other words, was there a search or seizure of
Dan’s garbage that triggers Fourth Amendment issues?
  • Does Dan have a “reasonable expectation of privacy” in his garbage can sitting at the curb? Why or why not?
  • Discuss whether you feel that the judge properly issued the search warrant for Dan’s house.
    • In other words, what is the standard of proof for police officers to obtain a warrant? Be sure to define probable cause.
  • Will Dan’s attorney be successful in his motion to have the evidence excluded? Why or why not?

Please
be sure to prepare your assignment following APA citation and format
requirements. You must include proper citations to any source you relied
on for information that you include in your paper.

What is the impact to the nursing profession and to the public related to the projected nursing shortage? Discuss at least one way that the nursing profession is working toward a resolution of this problem

The nursing shortage affords opportunity, but there are consequences, too. Nurses often need to work long hours under stressful conditions, which can result in fatigue , injury , and job dissatisfaction. Nurses suffering in these environments are more prone to making mistakes and medical errors. Patient quality can suffer.

Due to increasing stress from the nursing shortage, health care organizations across the United States and Canada are feeling pressure to quickly improve their recruitment and retention techniques. Reports correlating nurse staff levels to quality of care are proving that the staffing crisis is directly effecting patients.

A range of solutions has been offered as a way to solve the nursing shortage problem that include subsidized funding, wage increases, hiring minority and foreign nurses, and campaigns to improve the profession’s image.

RN wages must rise in the future to end the RN shortage. Inflation-adjusted wages must increase 3.2–3.8 percent per year between 2002 and 2016, with wages cumulatively rising up to 69 percent, to end the shortage. Total RN expenditures would more than double by 2016.

Final Essay for FAS-202

I am needing a comparative art essay written for my final project in Humanities. It must be at least 4 pages long in MLA format. However, you will be able to choose the works of art that you would like to write about from the attached list. Please include 4 citations.

Prompt:

The purpose of this final project is to evaluate your knowledge of the skills necessary for performing a visual and contextual analysis of two works and to measure
your application of these techniques as you relate the works to real-world relevance/popular culture/ideas/concepts.

Select two works from this list. The first work will be from one of the following categories: baroque, rococo, neoclassicism, or romanticism. The second will be
modern (e.g., realism, impressionism, postimpressionism), postmodern, or contemporary (1970–present). You will identify a common/shared theme (e.g., social
or cultural issue) in both works. For example, in Judith Leyster’s Self Portrait (Dutch baroque, 1630) and Frida Kahlo’s The Two Fridas (surrealism, 1939), a shared
theme is the presentation of self.

After identifying the common theme in both works, you will develop an essay that explores how each work is a product of its particular historical moment.
Finally, you will address the relevance of this shared theme in contemporary culture by choosing a third work that exemplifies this theme. This third work could
be a specific contemporary work belonging to any genre of the arts or even a contemporary social construct such as reality television or social media. For
example, you could consider the presentation of self as a relevant and recurring theme on Facebook today.

Writing Assignment (Topic: Make-up)

MRKT 310 Principles of Marketing

Week 6 Writing Assignment

Part 1 – Creating Offerings

Learning Outcomes

  1. Offering. Student can describe an offering based on features, benefits, price, and costs of ownership
  2. Type of consumer offerings. Student can suggest marketing strategy implications based on the type of consumer offering under examination.
  3. Product line extensions or new product development. Student can suggest possible product line extensions or related product or service offerings based on the student’s chosen product or service offering.
  4. Product lifecycle. Student can suggest potential marketing strategies based on the product or service’s lifecycle stage.

Directions

  • Your job in this Writing Assignment is to develop marketing mix strategies to ensure a value offering for the target market you identified in the previous assignment. We begin with the value offering this week.
  • We don’t expect you to develop strategies based on a total knowledge of the product or service since you are not, or most likely not, employed by your product or service’s company. We will be looking to see if you can apply the marketing concepts to the real world situation.
  • Again, do not fall into the trap of reporting on the product or service. This is obvious because your assignment will look like a rewrite of the company’s website. Don’t be afraid to make strategy recommendations based on what you have discovered about the product or service, and how you think it can move forward. Be creative, be reasoned, take risks.
  • Remember your product’s target market(s) from the previous paper. Always keep them in mind when making your recommendations. You now work for the company, and your goal it to help them grow sales.
  • Prepare your assignment beginning with a title page with your name and the name of your product or service. Then answer each of the following eight questions (four in part 1 and four in part 2) in order and number the beginning of your response to each question. You do not need to repeat the question. The paper should contain a minimum of 5+ pages of analysis for the responses to the eight questions.
  1. Offering. Describe your product or service offering as it is currently in terms of features and benefits, price and the total cost of ownership as discussed in the week’s readings. Is it more product dominant or service dominant? What are the tangible and intangible aspects?
  2. Type of consumer offering. Based on the four categories of type of offerings discussed in course content, describe the category in which your product or service offering belongs. Based on your new target market, would that category of the offering change and if so, how? How would it change the marketing strategy?
  3. Product line extensions or new product development. Should the current product or service be modified to more fully meet the needs of your new target market? Would the changes constitute a new product line, a product line extension or a new product? If no product changes are needed, how does the same product or service meet the need of your target market differently than current customers? Would the product line extension or new product allow the offering to occupy uncontested space in the perceptual map for the target market as covered in thr previous paper?
  4. Product lifecycle. In which stage of the product lifecycle is your product or service offering now? Would the changes described in number 3 above change the lifecycle stage and if so how? What would this mean to the lifecycle marketing strategy?

Part 2 – Using Marketing Channels and Price to Create Value for Customers

Learning Outcomes

  1. Marketing Channels. Student can outline a multi-channel distribution system
  2. Marketing channel strategy. Student can recommend a marketing channel strategy for a product or service offering that assures the correct amount of intensity.
  3. Value chain. Student can discuss how each channel in the product or service offering adds value to the customer.
  4. Pricing strategy. Student can analyze a current pricing strategy and make recommendations for modifications.

Directions

  • This part of the assignment assesses your ability to relate marketing mix concepts of distribution and pricing to your product or service offering. You will also have a chance to recommend new distribution and pricing strategies based on your new target market to meet their needs.
  • Answer each of the following four questions, in order, numbering each of your responses. There is no need to repeat the question; however, headings should separate the sections.
  1. Marketing channels. To the best of your ability, outline the marketing channels of your product or service offering as they currently exist. Refer to Figure 6.2 for some ideas. Most product and service offerings will have more than one channel, so your system should include at least two; for example (1) a direct channel for internet sales: manufacturer –> customer; and (2) an indirect channel such as manufacturer –> distributor –> wholesaler –> retailer –> customer. If your product or service only has only a direct channel, explain why. Would this channel strategy change as a result of your new target market? Why or why not?
  2. Marketing channel strategy. Why type of distribution intensity strategy does your product or service currently use? How do you know this? Would this distribution intensity strategy change for your new target market? Why or why not?
  3. Value chain. Referring back to your marketing channel diagram, discuss what each member of the value chain does to bring value to the consumer.
  4. Pricing strategy. Referring to the various pricing strategies outlined in the week’s readings, which one does your product or service currently use? Would you recommend any changes for your new target market? If so, how would you change it and why?

General Submission Requirements

  • Prepare as a word processed document (such as Microsoft Word). Use a simple 12-point font such as Times New Roman. Use black ink for majority of your work and only use colors if it enhances your ability to communicate your thoughts.
      • Your assignment should be the equivalent of approximately five pages of double-spaced text, approximately 1/2 page for each of the eight questions (four in Part 1 and four in Part 2). You may attach exhibits that will not be counted towards the page count of double-spaced text. The cover page and References page are not part of the five+ pages of written analysis.
      • Be sure your name, writing assignment number, and the name of your product or service are on the cover page of your writing assignment.
    • Include a References page.
  • You should use APA style. More information about using a style guide can be found in the UMUC’s virtual library accessible from your LEO classroom under Content, “Learn to Use APA” or at umuc.edu/library.
  • Upload your word processed document in your LEO assignments folder by the due date in the LEO calendar.

Refer to the grading rubric for the assignments. Be sure to note that 20% of your grade on this assignment will be based on your grammar, composition, adherence to the submission requirements, and use of an appropriate college-level style guide for writing and referencing.

Any questions? Please post in the general discussion forum for Week 6. Or, feel free to contact your professor by email.

Unit VI Case Study (PFES)

On February 23, 1991, one of the most tragic fires to date happened at 1 Meridian Plaza in Philadelphia. As a result of this fire and the deaths of several Philadelphia firefighters, many codes were changed that affected different fire protection systems in high-rise buildings.

Research the 1 Meridian Plaza tragedy. After completing your research, write a review of this tragedy, concentrating on codes and fire protection systems that contributed to this tragedy, tying these to this unit’s readings. Discuss what went wrong and how these systems and codes, or lack thereof, contributed to the deaths of the firefighters that night. This review is to be two pages in length.

All sources used, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA style. Your paper should include a title page and should include a separate reference page.
