discussion (write 1 and 2 separately)100 to 150 words

Focus your initial post on your reaction(s) to Swift’s “A Modest Proposal.” What intrigued you or, even, repelled you as you were reading?

Even when we understand the principles of satire, it is easy to become emotionally overwhelmed by Swift’s proposal. What is he really calling for? Why do you think he decided to use this particular manner to level his critique? Select two passages that best illustrate Swift’s masterful use of satire to level his critique.

1.As you begin to engage with selected posts, broaden the analysis.

Consider how the proposal speaks to us in 2017. Is it still relevant? Why? Why not?

Compare Swift’s work to the other materials we covered this week. What seem to be important similarities you are able to notice? Differences?

2.. The follow-up posts should also not exceed 150 words to keep the exploration of the initial points succinct and focused. Support your analysis with references to specific passages with a direct quotation or paraphrase. Be sure to check your initial post and engage with the posts it has received.

100 words, dinner invitation? respond as a social worker

You are a 26-year-old single woman and a volunteer co-facilitator of a support group for self-worth and empowerment at a women’s center. Most of the group members are older than you, dealing with issues related to their marriages and unfulfilling careers. Two of the group members are in their mid-20s and seemingly struggling with issues similar to other women their age (including yourself) that involve relationships and lifestyle. One evening as the group is wrapping up, you overhear the two young women discussing plans to go out for dinner and they invite you to go along. After your initial response of “Thanks but I can’t” the women begin to tease you about not wanting to be seen in public with them. Although you know it would cross professional boundaries, you consider the invitation. It would be fun to have dinner and hang out with them and you are only a volunteer with the women’s center.

Initial Post:
How do you respond in this situation? Is there a way that you could accept the dinner invitation and still maintain your professional boundaries? Make sure to consider professionalism and your role as an objective group facilitator when crafting your response.

I don’t think is ok to accept.

Promotion and the Product Life Cycle

Purpose of Assignment

All products/services go through a life cycle of NPI (new product introduction), growth, maturity and decline. These various stages affect the marketing strategy and promotional efforts. In Week 3, you will incorporate a product strategy that addresses at least 3 areas of the product life cycle. The primary objective of this assignment is to allow the student to demonstrate an understanding of the factors that can affect the launch of a product or service. A secondary objective is to understand the differences in a product launch in the U.S. (domestic market) and an international market.

Assignment Steps

Generate a minimum 700-word product strategy in Microsoft® Word.

Incorporate a product strategy that addresses the following:

  • At least three areas of the product life cycle (NPI-new product introduction, growth, maturity and decline).
  • How you will measure (what metrics will be used to determine success or failure) the marketing activities.
  • Create at least two different types of media methods for the products. One media method must be a print method and one must be non-print. A media method is a media strategy which highlights your product. For example, (this cannot be used in this assignment), a non-print media method would be a Facebook campaign that provides a user a reward for each review, positive or negative, posted about the use/appearance/price/etc. of the product. In your assignment, you should have 2-3 sentences about each media method (i.e. one paragraph of what you would do, not how to do it).

      • Positioning

The plan will be a continuation of your global or multi-regional company you chose in Week 1. This will be incorporated into your overall marketing plan for Week 6.

Note: Charts/graphs/tables do not count toward the word count.
