“I. Your thinking about assets needs to be more strategic. It is true that CostCo assets include cash and property, plant and equipment. But you are doing a STRATEGY analysis. That is, you are thinking about actions in pursuit of superior performance. To create a list of assets appropriate for a strategy analysis, you need to tell WHAT KIND of property CostCo owns.(Intangible asset)

II. You hardly discuss strategically important intangible assets. You say CostCo strategy includes “improving their techniquest of merchandising to increase customers.” But does CostCo have excellent techniques of merchandising NOW that are important intangible assets?

III. You do not answer Question 3. “Apply the VRIO framework means you SEPARATELY analyze whether CostCo’s resources are 1) Valuable? 2) Rare? 3) costly to Imitate,?and 4) CostCo is Organized to take advantage of them. IV. I agree that a key part of CostCo’s competitive advantage is low and consistent pricing.
