concerning several money market funds, writing homework help

You are given the following information concerning several money market funds:

Money Market Fund

Return in Excess of the Treasury Bill Rate

Beta

A

12.4%

1.14

B

13.2%

1.22

C

11.4%

0.90

D

9.8%

0.76

E

12.6%

.095

During the time period the Standard & Poor’s stock index exceeded the Treasury bill rate by 10.5 % (i.e., rm – rf = 10.5%)

Rank the performance of each fund without adjusting for risk and adjusting for risk using the Treynor index. Which, if any, outperformed the market? (Remember, the beta of the market is 1.0).

The analysis is part (a) assume each fund is sufficiently diversified so that the appropriate measure of risk is the beta coefficient. Suppose, however, this assumption does not hold and the standard deviation of each fund’s return was as follows:

Money Market Fund

Standard Deviation of Return

A

0.045 (= 4.5%)

B

0.031

C

0.010

D

0.014

E

0.035

Thus, Fund A earned a return of 12.4%, but approximately 68% of the time this return has ranged from 7.9% to 16.9%. The standard deviation of the market return is 0.01 (i.e., 1 %), so 68 % of the time, the return on the market has ranged from 9.5 to 11.5%. Rank the funds using this alternative measure of risk. Which, if any outperformed the market on a risk-adjusted basis?

*Note: The Treynor Performance Index is an alternative measure for portfolio evaluation.

Ti = Rp (realized return on the portfolio) – Rf (the risk-free rate) / b (Portfolio beta, the measure of systematic risk)

Thus, if the portfolio manager X achieved a return of 15 percent when the risk-free rate was 7 percent the the portfolio’s beta was 1.1, the Treynor Index is

Ti = 0.15-0.07/1.1 = 0.0727

If portfolio manager Y achieved a return of 13.5 percent with a beta of 0.8, the Treynor Index is

Ti = 0.135 – 0.07 /0.8 = 0.08125

This indicates that portfolio manager Y outperformed portfolio manager X on a risk-adjusted basis

Seems
as if I fit under 2 categories: I have been told many times I have I
seem to be able to see humor in all areas – I use this allot and I look
to see humor In almost everything. When I was younger I wanted to do
stand up: I think I have always wanted to laugh and help others do the
same – Not along ago my grandmother passed and she was by far the back
bone of the family. It was a difficult time for the entire family, all
of us ended up going out after the services and we laughed what seemed
to be none stop for hours – family still talks about it and thanks me
for it.

My other category is physical activity – I have had my
best work outs during the most stressful periods in my life. Like
everyone I have lived a life that encountered good and stressful times,
some self inflicted some not. During the stressful moments I would go
to the gym and exhaust myself – it helps allot.

Sex offenders

Sex offenders; one of the most dangerous predators we have, but what can we really do about them? Most of them we don’t even know exist because they’ve never been arrested…like Jerry Sandusky who for years went about his business of abusing young boys and everyone remained silent on the issue. Even his wife was clueless or was she?

Your thoughts on this topic and should we allow sex offenders to take distance learning classes in online colleges or should colleges start running student’s criminal records? Even then like a serial killer they may go for years undetected.

Do not use any reference. Just for personal opinion. 300-350words is ok

Unit English assignment 1 DRAFTING AND REVISING A SUMMARY AND RESPONSE ESSAY

Drafting and Revising a Summary and Response Essay

In this unit, you will draw on the planning you performed in Unit 2 to write and revise a full, 2–3 page summary and response essay based on your understanding of, and responses to, one article from the List of Approved Articles for Writing. In Unit 2, you mapped out your summary and response points to your chosen article. In this unit, you will:

  • Draft the full essay.
  • Perform revision.
  • Submit the final draft and revision statement for your Unit 3 assignment.

Your essay must include the integration of information from your chosen article in the form of quotations and paraphrases, all cited in correct APA style, in the text of your essay and in an end references page.

Be sure to note: every single time you integrate a direct quotation from the text, you must place quotation marks (” “) around it and include an in-text citation directly after the quotation, including author last name, year of publication, and page number. Also, it is absolutely necessary that every time you paraphrase (use information from the article but change it to your own wording) you change the wording significantly to avoid plagiarism. Directly after every paraphrase include an in-text citation, also to avoid plagiarism. In-text citations following paraphrases include just the author’s last name and the year. For instructions and examples related to in-text citation and end referencing of articles from your book, please refer to the Summary and Response Essay Sample, linked in the Resources. Also refer to the APA section of A Writer’s Reference, under Article or Chapter in an Edited Book or an Anthology, and/or to The Prentice Hall Guide for College Writers, page 453, Work in an Anthology.

Before submitting your Unit 3 Summary and Response Essay, you must receive feedback on your Unit 2 assignment, Plan the Summary and Response Essay.

To complete the assignment:

  1. Use your planning materials from Unit 2 and the feedback you received from your instructor to write a full rough draft of your 2–3 page Summary and Response Essay. (Page requirement does not include title page, references, or revision statement.)
  2. Include both an objective summary of the article’s key points and sub-points and your fully developed responses. Examine how the article makes you feel, how you connect it to your life and the world around you. Use specific examples.
  3. Integrate direct quotations from the article throughout your essay, incorporate source materials smoothly into your own paragraphs and fully cite the article in text, and in an end References page in correct APA style.
  4. Use the Drafting and Revising a Summary and Response Essay Scoring Guide to thoroughly assess your essay. Revise as necessary, paying close attention to:
    • Structure, paragraph development, and flow.
    • Mechanics, including grammar, spelling, and source use.
    • Purpose and audience.
  5. Format your final draft in full and proper APA style. For instructions and examples related to APA document formatting, please refer to the Summary and Response Essay Sample, as well as to the appropriate sections of your texts, noted above.
  6. Compose a 1–2 paragraph statement noting the steps you took during revision and how you feel these actions improved your work from the first draft to the final draft.
  7. When you have finished your assignment, carefully and thoroughly read through the Drafting and Revising a Summary and Response Essay Scoring Guide before submitting your work. Read and comprehend all categories in the scoring guide, asking your instructor if you have any questions about any element of these criteria. Do not finalize and submit this assignment until you have taken this step.
  8. Submit your assignment to the Turnitin source matching tool, and make any necessary revisions before submitting your final essay for grading.

responses for discussion

I need you to reply to these texts please. What do you like, why and

what do you agree with. Please label each one so that i know which one

is which. I need these on Saturday Can you do them?

1- Globalization, the
process by which businesses or other organizations develop
international influence or start operating on an international scale.
For my career in the in the business world globalization is on the up
which in effect opens up many opportunities in the work force. In the
world now a day everything is changing and becoming more technology
savvy. With this it has the threat of changing the jobs and
management techniques. With the new trend of bringing manufacturing,
money, and jobs back to the USA it opens up the job opportunities and
allowing managers the ability explore what they think may help sales and
production.

2-After
reading chapter 5, I have realized that my ethical grounding revolves
around assuring my conscious is clear. I could not handle the guilt on
myself if I did something that is not right. I am someone who cares
deeply about people, animals, and the environment, so I could never work
for or encourage a company or a company’s employees to take advantage
of any of them. Because I genuinely care about people, I find respect
to be extremely important. I, as a manager, would want all employees to
feel that I respect them and that I listen to what they are saying. I
also think it is essential that the customer feels very respected and
heard by the company, which is what I would practice in a management
position, and I would hope that employees would follow my lead.

3-
What I would do, I would rather buy an existing business. I feel that
this would be the best for me because of two reasons. First I would do
my research to make sure it has a successful past and if it would have a
successful future at the same time. Second, I would look at the future
plans to see if we could expand. Last, I would leave the same crew
members because I wouldn’t like to change anything so the old customers
would keep coming back. I would also love to expand the business by
involving new promotion in order for new customers to come in.

4-
In a borderless world framed by globalization, some opportunities that
may present themselves would be the ability to work for a global firm or
business. Since most large businesses operate on a world scale,
management is needed everywhere that the business operates.

As
a potential manager some environmental threats would be the laws that
prohibit certain business practices. For example, in the auto industry,
The U.S. wants to keep jobs in the U.S.A but this is not always done
because manufacturing in other countries is cheaper and often contains
less regulations.

COLLAPSE

5-The
ethical grounding which is going to guide me as a manager would be
respect and honesty. The basic phrase is in the ethics states: “Treat
others as you would like to be treated yourself.”. Respect and honesty
are important feelings which are appreciated not only in management but
also in personal life. If you show respect to everyone then you will see
what attitude people will have about you, it includes everyone:
teammates, consumers, and others. Honesty helps to deserve a good
reputation because if the whole team knows that they can rely on you,
then you can be sure that you may have a huge potential in your career
ladder.

6- I
would much rather start my own business, the reason being that both
sound like major financial investments. However, I’m confident that I
have several ideas that I could make profitable in the market and
through the process of starting my own business I would be more
dedicated and invested. When the business is your own, from nothing, it
is far more personal and therefore has much more value to you. I’ve
always been the type of guy to want to help build something, like a
legacy, rather than just join a preexisting one. I think it’s comes with
its own unique set of risks but you are far more connected with your
clients and your employees then you would be stepping into a
built company. I think it’s that process and journey that would ever
make the idea of owning my own business worth it.
