dissociation and questions

Review Chapters 9 & 10, which discusses groups, teams, leadership and conflict.

Think of a group or team you belong to now or at some point during your life. What was that group or team, and what made that group/team effective? What made that group/team ineffective (Review Chapter 9, pages 235-241)? What role did you play in the group (Review Chapter 9, pages 244-246)? For you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of being in a group or team (Review Chapter 9, pages 242-244)? Chapter 10 discusses leadership. In your group/team experience, what type and style of leader did the group have (Review Chapter 10, pages 267-271)? How did that leader and his/her (even if YOU are the leader!) leadership style impact the group’s dynamics? Share your experiences and draw upon the textbook’s content.

Respond to this discussion question (worth 10 points).

Respond to two other people’s responses (worth 10 points).

This is due for initial post by Thursday, July 19th by 8pm CST and respond to at least 2 other classmates by Sunday, July 22nd by 8pm CST.

This week I am going to take you on a tour with me of the ResortQuest’s Call Center, located in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. This company is owner by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and is a vacation rental property management company. That means that they have multiple options for guests to book from one bedroom condominiums up to multi-million dollar luxury homes. I have been affiliated with this company since the year of 2000, and they provided me with the opportunity to consult for them while I was able to go back to grad school. The areas that this call center represents is the Northwest Florida region (Panama City Beach westward to Gulf Shores, AL) and Orlando, FL and a few areas in South FL.

A former HSTM student was our tour guide and she is still working in group sales. As you go through this tour, please notice the different departments and try to figure out how they all intertwine. This is a for-profit company, so generating revenue, increasing sales (revenue), & seeking new business development is first and foremost for all departments.

This is the last video of the course & one I have just finished and haven’t used in the past!

    Enjoy!

    About Your Signature Assignment

This signature assignment is designed to align with specific program student learning outcome(s) in your program. Program Student Learning Outcomes are broad statements that describe what students should know and be able to do upon completion of their degree. The signature assignments may be graded with an automated rubric that allows the University to collect data that can be aggregated across a location or college/school and used for program improvements.

    Purpose of Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to allow the student an opportunity to apply their understanding of cash flow management, break-even analysis, and short-term and long-term financing in starting and growing a business.

    Assignment Steps

    Resources: OECD Database, Corporate Finance

Prepare a 12- to 15-slide PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes requesting initial funding of $500,000 to start and run a start-up company. The proposed start-up company could be an existing business model (coffee shop, pet store, etc.) or could be something entirely new and exciting.

Create the presentation in the following format, with at least one slide to cover each of the following areas:

    • Title Page
    • Table of Contents
    • Executive Summary
    • Information about the Industry
    • Marketing Plan
    • Competitor Analysis
    • 3 Year Income Statement (Profit & Loss) Projections
    • Include your assumptions for why and how you will achieve your sales growth and what significant expenses and investments you expect to incur to achieve your revenue goals.
    • 3 Year Proposed Funding Schedule (Sources and uses of the funds received.)
    • Break-Even Analysis
    • Academic and Business References

Review the following scenarios and assumption, and explain how it impacts your decision to expand:

    • After Year 3, the investors are interested in your company expanding internationally to possibly outsource labor or to reduce manufacturing costs. What countries would you expand to first, and why? What factors would you need to consider in making this decision?
    • What is the corporate tax rate in the countries you are considering expanding your business to, and how will that affect your decision to expand globally? (Use OECD Database or another resource to determine the corporate tax rate).
    • The investors want to see a decision tree detailing the decisions you would make if you received $300K now and $200K at the end of three years instead of $500K up front.
    • The investors would like your team to provide advantages and disadvantages of using debt financing versus selling company stock to raise capital for growth.
    • Briefly explain the venture capital process. Does it make sense for your company to raise funds through venture capital?

Format your presentation consistent with APA guidelines.

3 page paper with title and reference pages. APA NO PLAGIARISM!!

OSHA has identified four categories of hazards that account for more than 50% of all construction fatalities:

    Falls (36.5%)

    Struck by object (10.1%)

    Electrocutions (8.6%)

    Caught-in/between (2.5%)

The assignment is to write a research paper involving one of these four construction hazard categories. You may narrow your topic down to a more specific type of accident within the major category. For example, under falls, you could focus your research on falls from ladders. When writing the paper, consider the following questions:

    1. What are the common causative factors?

    2. What does data indicate?

    3. What are the effective proven corrective measures?

The submission must be a minimum of three pages in length, not including the title page or reference page. A minimum of three scholarly reference sources must be used from the CSU/Waldorf Online Library. Scholarly sources include: peer-reviewed journal articles, safety reference books and textbooks, and other publications by safety professionals and organizations (print or online). Note that wikipedia.com, answers.com, ask.com, about.com, and similar broad-based Internet sites are not considered scholarly sources. Use government and professional safety-related sources, such as osha.gov, niosh.gov, asse.org, nsc.org, and nfpa.org. Contact your professor if you have any questions about the validity of a reference source.

APA format is required. Be sure to use in-text citations for direct quotes and paraphrased information.

Final Paper Outline, communications homework help

    Final Paper Outline

Before you begin your paper, you must review the Final Paper instructions in Week Five. You will see that you will be writing a letter of advice for a couple or group of co-workers, using the first five course learning objectives of this course. This assignment is designed to get you to create a preliminary plan for doing that final assignment that will be due in Week Five. For this week’s outline assignment you will focus only on the three learning objectives we’ve already covered in the first two weeks (listed below). Remember though that in the final draft you will be required to cover all five course learning objectives. Here are the learning objectives you must cover in this outline, and some advice for adequately addressing each:

    • Explain the principles of and barriers to effective interpersonal communications. Be sure to address the significance of each principle in being an effective communicator. The best papers will list at least two barriers and provide advice for overcoming each of them.
    • Analyze the role of communication in developing and maintaining one’s self-concept, self-image, and self-esteem. Be sure to define each term and directly connect each to communication. The best papers will address the relationship between psychology and communication and the importance of the relationship.
    • Analyze the impact of gender and culture on interpersonal communications. Explain the relationship between gender, culture and communication and how acknowledging these elements is central to becoming an effective communicator. Consider the pros and cons of what are often deemed more “masculine” versus “feminine” forms of communication and how various styles can help us in particular contexts.

Remember, an outline is not full paragraphs. Instead, it is in bullet point form. However, you must provide a preliminary introduction and conclusion so we can see that you are on the right track. Those are the only places where paragraphs are appropriate. For more help on outlining, please review this information on outlining https://awc.ashford.edu/writing-tools-outline.html) Outline created by the Ashford Writing Center.

    The outline must contain

    • An introduction with thesis statement. For help with the thesis statement specifically, please click here:
    • All learning objectives, with details about how you plan to address each. Please be sure to explain how you plan to support all of your key claims from expert sources. For more information about how to do this, watch this video: Integrating Research. Though you will not be writing full body paragraphs, with the exception of your introduction and conclusion, you still must give your instructor a sense of how you plan to cover each objective with course materials, independent academic research, and personal experiences that correlate with those key points.
    • A conclusion. The conclusion should restate the overall perspective offered in the paper, with a restatement of the thesis and the central points outlined in the paper.
    • A reference page containing at least three academic resources. You should find at least two of these resources independently in the Ashford University Library. To get started, review the following resources. And if you need further assistance, please contact the Ashford University Library.

Remember, you will need to cite your sources in order to get credit for the use of course and academic materials, which is part of how you will be assessed. Please carefully review the grading rubric so you have a clear sense of how you will be graded. If you are having difficulties understanding any of these instructions, contact your instructor. You will receive feedback on this draft so that you can make the necessary improvements for your Final Paper submission during Week Five.
