INDIVIDUAL TREND IMPACT REPORT

List and describe the impact of what you would consider to be THE MOST IMPORTANT ARTICLE OF THE YEAR, IMPACTINH HOSPITALITY, as found in the WSJ. The trend does not have to be about hospitality, but does need to directly relate to and substantially impact the hospitality industry. The trend should be a topic that is receiving a lot of media “buzz”. There should have been numerous news reports regarding the topic. Use at least 1 WSJ article to reference your trend. Include the MLA citation in your assignment. In other words, cite 1 WSJ article that describe this trend. Past examples have been: bedbugs, food recalls, minimum wage hikes, and mandatory healthcare. You will be asked to share your trend report with class in a seminar environment. Submit assignment to ulearn. Bring a copy for reference to the class discussion.

Second, under the heading The Creative Process in Chapter 1, page 12-13, Sayre, your textbook author, A World of Art, 8th edition, describes the creative process using preliminary drawings for Pablo Picasso’s Les Desmoiselles d’Avignon. In order for you to understand the nature of creativity, compare the Desmoiselles d”Avignon drawings with the finished work. Consider the historical context in terms of how nature was perceived during the lives of this artist.

Turning to pages 10-20 in Chapter 1, in these pages you find the four roles of an artist Sayre has described. Pick one that you believe pertains to Picasso’s role as an artist. This is your choice. Do not make up your own. I will not interpret your work and will not give credit, so, use the exact same wording Sayre has provided.

Your first sentence states the role of the artist in quotation marks. After you have stated the role of Picasso, why do you think this? Explain your choice. Respond in at least 150 words. Answer all questions to receive credit. Not meeting the minimum requirements results in a zero.

Topic: Facial Recognition

Written reports are to be divided into four parts and labeled with separate headings:

1) summarize the issue and expand upon the background material already presented based on additional research that you will conduct;

2) present arguments in support of the issue (Pro’s);

3) present arguments in opposition to the issue (Con’s);

4) state your conclusions. Your written report should cover all of the component parts cited above. Be sure your paper addresses the question you have been given. Do not alter the subject or change the question.

I expect you to utilize on-line databases, such as the Internet, Nexis Uni, or any other sources (including those listed in the Webliography) to flesh out and update what has happened regarding the issue (including additional background material, legislative activities, and/or legal developments) to the present time. Integrate this material into your report, as appropriate. In other words, I expect you to look for additional material you can use to supplement the readings you are given. This includes updated information about the opposing authors, where appropriate, and information from others who have written or spoken on opposite sides of the issue. Outside research is an essential part of this assignment.

Also note that at least 50 percent of your research references must come from the UMGC Library’s electronic
 databases. There will be a five-point penalty for noncompliance. Document your sources, including on-line resources, with footnotes. I have posted links to publications and web sites that will be useful for your research. They are available through the UMGC databases. Because several of them (Nexis Uni, for example) are subscription only publications, you must access them through your UMGC Library account. You will find links to some of them in the Webliography area of LEO (which you can find in the Content area under Course Resources. You may not cite encyclopedias, your textbook or Wikipedia as sources for this research paper. Your written report should be no less than 10 pages long and double-spaced, not counting the title page.

Research Project Rubric

Develop a 10- to 13-slide presentation (this includes all slides, like intro slide, summary slide, and even if you include a works cited slide if needed, no more than 13 slides total) for final senior management review

Include the following four main sections in your presentation:

• Section One – Project Scope and Benefits: Describe the scope of the projects, its objectives, and the specific measurable impact it will have on the business or organizational results. This section is an overview of the project that briefly reviews the Project Management Plan including the schedule and budget.
• Section Two – Project Implementation Plan: Include the final Project Implementation Plan, which must include a Human Resource Plan, Procurement Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Communications Plan, and risk analysis that includes how you might mitigate the identified risks.
• Section Three – Project Closure Process: Include the recommended project closure process as defined in section 4.6, titled Close Project or Phase, in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Remember to consider how you will do recognitions and rewards and how the team will identify its learning for future projects.
• Section Four – The Sales Pitch: Provide a sales pitch to sell the project to the customer, project committee, or project council. It should clearly define the project focus, identify its benefits, and detail the impact it will make on the business. Remember to focus on what senior leaders would value as a stakeholder.

Please note that this is combining items that you created as a Learning Team and also via your Individual Assignments which you wil now compile for the presentation. For example, you worked the Communications Plan individually but it needs presented here for the Learning Team assignment so please select one members Communications Plan (make sure it aligns with the overall project/concepts though) and use that in the presentation.
