Is it art? Or is it obscene? That was the question an Ohio jury had to decide regarding the photographs of Robert Mapplethorpe. These photographs included images of homoeroticism that shocked many people. In an interview shortly before his death from AIDS, Mapplethorpe said he regarded sex as the most important human activity.

Last week we read “The Masque of the Red Death”, by Edgar Alan Poe and had to write about it. I have attached the writing from that assignment. This week I have to read the Raven, by Edgar Alan Poe and then compare and contrast the Raven to the Masque of the Red Death. The essay must have a debatable, persuasive claim and focus on specific points of comparison.
