Questions
1. According to Jamieson, there are several features of climate change that render the issues involved alien to our usual notions of commonsense morality. Discuss any two of them, explaining why they present such “hard’ issues. (100 wds.)
2. In thinking of ways to bring the harms of climate change within notions of commonsense morality, Jamieson discusses three possible methods of doing so. Ultimately he decides that only one of these even has any possibility of working. For that one possibility, he gives two theoretical strategies for accomplishing it, before concluding they might not work either. Briefly explain his reasoning regarding all this. (125 wds.)
3. Using both Jamieson and the article by Gardiner, explain which aspect of climate change both think is the hardest issue, and the prospects for using ethics to solve, or at least address, the issue. (100 wds.)
4. Jamieson notes several different ways of respecting nature. Explain each, and why he thinks we do (or should) respect nature in the first place. (100 wds.)
5. Jamieson notes a few reasons why the harms to nation-states associated with climate change don’t look like traditional injustice between states. He considers one of these to be the most serious. Describe all the reasons, but spend most of the word count to explain the most serious one. (100 wds.)

Describe it in a manner that would demonstrate sales acumen to your supervisor

Sales Approach Presentation

Create a PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes that you could
deliver to a supervisor regarding how you would sell a product. The goal
of this presentation is to convince your supervisor that you are the
best person to sell this product.

Preparation

Choose a product and target customer group. For this
sales presentation, you may choose a product and/or customer base that
you have explored in a previous assessment, or you may choose something
different.

Deliverable

Create a narrated PowerPoint presentation of no more than 20 slides
(not including title and reference slides). This should be a
presentation, not a sales pitch. Also note that you do not
need to provide an audio recording of your presentation, but use the
speaker’s notes in the box at the bottom of each PowerPoint slide to
narrate what you would say during the presentation. Your speaker’s notes
should be easy to read and understand; do not use shorthand or
abbreviations. Your presentation should fulfill the following:

  1. Appraise a product, service, or product solution for an identified
customer. Describe it in a manner that would demonstrate sales acumen to
    your supervisor.

    • Highlight key features and benefits for the target customer(s).
    • Describe the qualification process, if applicable.
  2. Describe any characteristics of the target organization that will
influence how you would handle the consultative selling process.

    • Describe the demographic categories that you would target, and
include information about these categories that may be relevant to the
      sale.
    • Anticipate potential questions, concerns, or obstacles.
  3. Create a method for identifying and contacting prospective
customers. Describe your intended prospecting and communication methods
in a manner that would persuade your supervisor that you have found the
    best approach.

    • Describe the prospecting method you believe will be most successful, providing evidence to support your recommendation.
    • Describe your anticipated sales cycle (how many calls, et cetera).
  4. Provide other relevant context. Depending on the product, you might
need to outline the division of labor for a team approach or discuss
potential risks, give an overview of travel requirements, et cetera.
  5. Support the chosen sales approach with professionally reputable
sources. Use material from the resources provided in this course, or
other trusted material, to demonstrate why your sales approach is the
    best option.

(You may complete the requirements of this assessment in any order you wish. You do not need to follow the listed order.)

Additional Requirements

  • Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • All resources and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines.
  • Provide speaker’s notes using the box at the bottom of each PowerPoint slide.

One of your supervisees comes to you with an issue

Please include a minimum of 3 sources in APA format. This assignment must include a list and paragraphs to explain the questions as well

One of your supervisees comes to you with an issue. He has been arguing with another supervisee regarding the full extent of client rights. After listening to the supervisee, you conclude that neither supervisee has a complete understanding of client rights. You decide to hold a brown bag lunch with your full group of supervisees so that you can give them a refresher on client rights.

You decide that the best way to give them information that they can understand and retain is to create an FAQ handout so that they can have a document to take away and post in their work area to have handy. It also can serve as a document that can be shared with clients in a one-on-one setting.

Create a document titled “Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Client Rights. The document should provide the following at a minimum:

  • A list of client rights, and which 3 you think are most important and why?
  • An explanation of the process should a client need to file a complaint for an alleged violation of his or her rights.
  • A description of sources where a client can find detailed information regarding his or her rights (Web sites, organizations, etc. that can inform a client of his rights)

Write an essay about the following crime about concealed guns in colleges using the following OUTLINE (attached) and the instructions below:

The following crime the essay is talking about is: concealed guns in colleges:

Use the attached outline for the format of the essay and following these instructions:

Next, apply how a restorative or Indigenous Healing/Peacemaking response to the crime you have chosen would respond to the crime. This Project should include the following components:

Detail and discuss the traditional retributive response to a recent case.

Detail and discuss a restorative responses to similar crimes.

Evaluate the expected outcomes of each type of response.

Assess the future of restorative justice, both in your chosen area of crime and in the justice system as a whole.

Read the following information carefully for more complete details on what you should include in your Project.

First, choose a recent crime and define its subset of criminal justice (police killings of Natives or African Americans)in the United States, including but not limited to juvenile justice, criminal or discipline issues in institutions of higher education, parole, probation or other areas of corrections, gendered violence response, or other crimes. Within your chosen subset, research the traditional retributive response to crime. Present the typical process and consequences that an offender may experience through the mainstream criminal justice system. Also detail the role the victim and community play in these proceedings. You may use your pre-existing knowledge of or experience with the criminal justice system to inform your account, but you must also research and locate an actual case study or published account and draw from that for your project topic of a recent crime.

Second, research the ways communities are responding in the case you chose or similar cases occurring in the area you have chosen. Find at least one specific case of restorative responses in the literature to a similar crime, if one exists, and describe the methods used to address harm. Provide a detailed account of each of these responses. Detail the role and importance of the offender, victim, and community in the process. If you cannot find a similar case than describe your vision of how an RJ process such as peacemaking, conferencing, etc., could be applied.

After presenting the retributive justice response to a crime and fully exploring a restorative justice response, draw your own conclusions regarding the end results of each. Consider some of the following points in your evaluation:

Zehr’s AND Gavrielides current position that Western justice systems and restorative processes are not in competition but can work in concert with each other

The importance of the protection of civil rights in Western justice systems and how those protections fit into a restorative process

The importance of community safety and the ability of restorative processes to attend to the safety of victims and communities

Issues involving disparity of response affecting communities of color

The wide array of outcomes that are possible when communities exert ultimate control over response to wrong-doing without any standardization that currently exists in our court system

Finally, discuss how restorative justice might grow or change in the future in the area you are researching. How do you see that particular area changing in the future in how criminal behavior is addressed? Given what you have learned through your research, what role do you think restorative justice should or will play in the criminal justice system? In closing, present your ideas about the way restorative justice will impact the justice system in the country in which you are focusing as a whole.
