A new client, Dr. Bueller, has demonstrated a particular thirst for knowledge of stocks and bonds and has asked that you put together an example of these investments to illustrate how they work.
Calculate the returns on the following investments (include the US$ and percent) to illustrate how they work.
A stock that does not pay a dividend of which you buy 100 shares for $25.00 per share and sell the 100 shares for $27.50 a year later. You pay the $50.00 commission when you sell the securities.
A 5-year bond that you purchase for US$1,000 pays a 6% yearly rate. It is paid semiannually, and you hold the bond until maturity.
The current yield on a bond that is priced at $89 has a 6% coupon.
The yield-to-maturity (YTM) on a 7.25% ($1,000 par value) bond that has 10 years remaining to maturity, currently trading in the market at $825.
The holding period return (HPR) for 1,000 shares of a no-load mutual fund currently selling at a NAV of $11, purchased a year ago at a NAV of $10.50/share, including $300 of distributed investment income dividends and capital gains dividends of $350.
After you have shared some basic information with Dr. Bueller about the different types of investments, he also wants you to explain the differences between the different types of bonds—from investment grade to high yield. Explain the various ratings that bonds can get and explain the two major rating agencies.
Assignment Guidelines
Perform the 5 calculations listed in the Assignment Description.
You must show all of your work as well as any formulas that you used.
If you used Excel to arrive at your answers, then you must provide an explanation of your methodology.
Next, answer the following questions for Dr. Bueller:
What are the different types of investments a person can make?
What are the differences between the various types of bonds?
What do bond ratings indicate, and what 2 major agencies are in charge of assigning these ratings?
Compile your calculations, Excel tables and explanations (if applicable), and your answers to the 3 questions above into a single Word document.
Your submitted assignment must include the following:
A 3–4-page Word document (body of paper) that contains your 5 assignment calculations, any work you performed in Excel along with your explanations, and your answers to the 3 questions listed in the Assignment Guidelines.
Choose one of the issues listed below and write a 700 word opinion editorial that critically analyses the challenges with realising aspirations of the common good in your professional community, locally and globally.
Patient access to prohibitively expensive treatments
Patient confidentiality (breaches)
Discrimination in the workplace
Discrimination in education (access and equity)
Fraud (financial/business contexts)
Abuse of privacy (social media, IT organisations)
The “Digital Divide”
Asylum seekers (and detention/incarceration)
Poverty and homelessness
Slavery (and human trafficking)
You should read the article on LEO that explains how to write an Op-Ed piece, and the examples provided before commencing this assessed task.
General Instructions:
Create an evocative and engaging Op-Ed that explains a challenge associated with realising
aspirations of the common good in your professional community, locally and globally.
The Op-Ed should clearly explain to readers what the issue chosen from the list is and how
your understanding of the knowledge you have acquired in the unit addresses the issue or
problem and relate to the discipline area you are studying in.
Please note that you do not have to come up with the ‘definitive solution’ for the Op Ed, this
may form part of Assessment 3. Your tutor is looking for a well-argued view in order to move
forward on the issue or problem.
The Op-Ed is to be no more than 700 words long. The idea is to express your thoughts clearly
and concisely and make your argument as directly as you can – just like a journalist or writer.
Do not assume that this assignment is easy given the word length. The challenge is to
present a persuasive argument in a concise manner!
Although Op-Eds do not usually require referencing, for this academic work, full referencing
is required. References do not count in the word limit. (Harvard referencing is a must please)
And make sure this is a turnitin upload please.

Participants must choose from another academic or peer-reviewed journal source a pre-incident stress management program and include in your presentation the background/research, applications of the model/program, and implications for law enforcement agencies if considering this model/program/intervention (i.e. cost, training time, buy-in, etc.).
All participants are expected to present on the program using APA publication manual standards. In addition to furthering your knowledge of course learning objectives the Peer Presentation is also designed at providing the opportunity for presentation (a key skill set in the field of criminal justice) as well as a chance for robust, professional peer discussion. Peer Presentations will be minimum of 5 minutes and maximum of 8 minutes per participant.
Presenting participants will post any handouts, references or presentation materials therefore I need you send those to me.
Second, I am required to both (a) submit a presentation (using APA formatting, you will find they outline standards even for presentations/slides – online) and (b) present the information in the peer presentation. Such as,
Most participants use PowerPoint, which is fine I need also and then I will need a note for each slide to discuss a speech of the PowerPoint on live-video myself will presenting.

As you begin to move beyond your initial outline and summary, your next step will be drafting. Drafting is a very important step in the writing process, but by no means should it be considered the final stage. In it you should focus on putting as much on paper as you can including your Purpose Statement (though it may eventually change), your supporting evidence, and analysis of the evidence. It is less important to worry about having all the correct words and punctuation as it is to work hard to express as much as you can about the topic. When you have completed the Rough Draft, you should be 90% done with the Final Project.
If it helps, think back to when you drafted your purpose statement in your outline. How has your work up to this point worked toward solving the issue you have identified? What have you unearthed as you have dug into your topic? Addressing similar questions to those from the earlier assignment in your introduction may help you find direction in your draft:
What is the problem?
When does the problem occur?
Who and/or what does it affect?
What are the potential solutions for the problem?
How can you present the solution(s) in a fair way to your audience, respecting their perspective(s)?
Your rough draft will consist of the bulk of your proposal’s content, and should include your proposal broken into four sections:
Purpose: Indicate the purpose statement and scope of your problem – tell us what you will be solving and why you believe it is an important issue.
Problem: Share what the actual problem is and any history that you have regarding it or additional problems that will branch from this initial problem.
Solution: Provide what your solution(s) to the problems are, and outline the steps that you think are needed to get to the solution.
Conclusion: Wrap it all up and provide a conclusion to the reader. Be sure to engage your reader by applying effective organization, appropriate tone, and clear usage.
Also, provide a reference page with a minimum of four references properly formatted in APA style. At least two of your references should be scholarly sources. At this stage, the draft should be between 3-to-5 pages plus the reference page. *********rough draft paper should be writen on children and technology: how much is too much****************************
Review the following case study and complete the questions that follow.
As a public health nurse at a free clinic, you are assessing and interviewing a 21-year-old woman who has come to the clinic because she doesn’t have any energy and hasn’t felt good in weeks. During the interview, you learn that she averages one meal per day, smokes up to two packs of cigarettes per day, and rummages through trash to find items she can sell to purchase food, snacks, and cigarettes. She admits to using street drugs every once in a while when she can find someone who will share with her. She admits her life is a mess and she doesn’t know how to make it better.
What data can you gather based on available client information?
What questions should you ask yourself while interviewing this client?
During planning, how can you, as the nurse, best assist this client?
What are the potential strategies that would assist the client to a “better” life?
Your paper should be 2 pages in length, in APA format, typed in Times New Roman with 12-point font, and double-spaced with 1” margins. If outside sources are used, they must be cited appropriately.

You have been asked to develop a database system plan for a local company (or a company of your choosing) that wants to track its customers/clients, appointments, billing, and employees. Structured query language (SQL) is used to create the database schema, maintain the database records, and perform administrative tasks. In addition to the Database System Plan template that includes section headings (project outline), submit a SQL Statements document of 4–5 pages based on the entity relationship (ER) model completed in Week 3. Complete the following:
Include SQL statements that use data definition language (DDL) commands to create the database schema specified in the ER diagram created in Week 3.
Include indexes, constraints, and relationships.
Include SQL statements that use data manipulation language (DML) to do the following:
INSERT 15 records into each table.
UPDATE 5 sets of records in each table using one specific criteria per update statement (e.g., EXACT MATCH, LIKE, BETWEEN, IN, or HAVING).
DELETE 2 records from 1 table based on specific criteria (e.g., EXACT MATCH or LIKE).
Create stored procedures to support retrieval of the data from the database, using SELECT statements to accomplish the following:
There are 2 parts to this assignment. You can submit two
files to the drop box. MS Project (should you have your own
license to the software) is not acceptable for completing any
part of this assignment.
Part 1 Exercise Questions
Complete exercise questions 1 (5 pts), 3 (5 pts), 5 (10 pts), 6

Youtube videos found in the commentary using an MS Excel
spreadsheet. Ensure that you include a Start activity and a
Finish activity. Include a legend (example is the one
completed in Question 1, Part 1.
Calculate the estimated time for each activity using PERT
techniques for the 3 estimates provided. Include a sample
calculation.
Prepare a table that identifies all paths and their
lengths. Which path is the critical path?
During the execution phase of the skit project, one of the
activities on the critical path is delayed by one day. Is
this serious?
Using the activity estimates for optimistic, pessimistic and
most likely time to complete activities on the critical path,
qualitatively discuss the estimate uncertainty of the critical
path.

As a current or future leader, it is important for you to understand how various leadership styles impact organizational culture, employees, and stakeholders. For your Week 1 assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation critiquing four leadership styles. Begin by familiarizing yourself with each of the eight theories listed below. Next, choose four theories from the following list to complete this week’s assignment.
Eight Current Leadership Theories
Transformational
Transactional
Servant
Autocratic
Democratic
Bureaucratic
Laissez-Faire
Situational
You will compose four slides for each of the four theories. Organize your discussion of each theory using the sequence below. Remember to repeat this sequence for each theory; your completed assignment will have 16 content slides, excluding the presentation’s title and reference slides.
Slide A:
Name of Theory
Name of Associated Theorist(s)
Slide B: Theory Description: 4-6 bullet points
Slide C:
Potential Benefits to Organizational Culture and Improvement: 2-3 bullet points
Potential Drawbacks to Organizational Culture and Improvement: 2-3 bullet points
Slide D: One famous leader (and their organization’s name) who exemplifies this type of leadership: 1 Slide (hint: do an Internet search for famous transformational leaders; famous servant leaders, etc.)
Length: 16 slides, not including cover slide or reference slide
References: Include a minimum of 4 scholarly resources (at least one for each theory), properly cited within the body of your presentation.
As you format your presentation, be sure to include effective slide design that incorporates the best practices in NCU’s PowerPoint Tutorial (to view the tutorial, go to the Course Resources module in the table of contents and click on Spotlight on Skills), such as using graphics and short phrases in bulleted lists while saving the full details for the speaker notes. Balance the text with relevant images and graphics that you create or that are copyright free, such as a Creative Commons license (you must still offer attribution even if the image is copyright free).
Your PowerPoint should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
Upload your document and click the Submit to Dropbox button.
