1st Topic: Reflect on the assigned readings for Week 4 and then type a two page paper regarding what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding. Define and describe what you thought was worthy of your understanding in half a page, and then explain why you felt it was important, how you will use it, and/or how important it is in project management. 2nd Topic: Essay Question : Describe the role of the steering team with respect to projects.

The assignment is to answer the question provided above in essay form. This is to be in narrative form. Bullet points should not to be used. The paper should be at least 1.5 – 2 pages in length, Times New Roman 12-pt font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins and utilizing at least one outside scholarly or professional source related to project management. This does not mean blogs or websites. This source should be a published article in a scholarly journal (Journal of Project Management) or a professional journal (such as PMI’s Project Management Journal). This source should provide substance and not just be mentioned briefly to fulfill this criteria. The textbook should also be utilized. Do not use quotes. Do not insert excess line spacing. APA formatting and citiation should be used.

Assignment 2: Physical Development in Early Adulthood

During early adulthood, people begin make important life decisions in three areas: career, family, and health. Young adults establish patterns of nutrition and physical activity that can have either positive or negative effects on their physical development in later stages of adulthood. They also begin to make decisions about what career path to follow. At some point during early adulthood, individuals also choose either to marry or remain single, and decide whether or not to start a family. Consider the following example:

Jeff is 23 years old. He recently graduated from college with a business degree and took a managerial position with a midsize company. He likes his coworkers, but often finds himself bored with his work. Although he was active in college, recently he has gained about 10 pounds due to his sedentary job and lack of time to exercise. Jeff broke up with his college girlfriend after graduation, and since then he has dated a few different women, but hasn’t had another serious relationship. Jeff wonders what the remainder of his 20’s and his 30’s will bring.

Based on your reading, prepare a PowerPoint presentation that would help individuals like Jeff set goals related to career, health, and family. The presentations should discuss the relationship between lifestyle choices and health risks. In addition, it should address how factors like personality and attachment may influence both career- and family-related goals. Finally, address diversity in the presentation. Explain how your plan could be adapted to fit the needs of different socioeconomic or ethnic groups.

Your PowerPoint presentation should include an introduction, a conclusion, and detailed speaker’s notes. Include your references on one slide.

Develop a 6–8-slide presentation in PowerPoint format with speaker’s notes. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.ppt.

In order for this assignment to be compatible with TurnItIn, you will need to save your PowerPoint presentation as an Adobe PDF file. To do this, open your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint. Choose “Save As” from the File menu, then choose “Adobe PDF”. Before saving your file, click on the Options button and check the box next to “Convert Speaker Notes.” Now choose to save your file. Your speaker notes will be included in your PDF file that you will submit for this assignment.

Note: If your version of Microsoft PowerPoint does not have the option to include speaker notes, you will need to submit a Microsoft Word document that contains all information from your presentation, including the speaker notes.

Introduction to the topic:

Dan Olweus, from Norway, is the world’s leading social science researcher on bullying. Here is a very brief presentation of his research ideas and programs. If you have children in school, or if you remember being bullied in school yourself, (or if there is bullying in your workplace, for bullying occurs among adults as well) this article will give you a good idea of the efforts being made to understand and control bullying in school.

By the way, bullying is a major stepping stone to genocide, the bullies “dehumanizing” those they bully by calling them “cockroaches” or some other derogatory, non-human name. That opens the door to do unspeakable violence to people, for the victims are not humans, after all.

As you have explored in this course, ongoing challenges in the global business environment are mostly attributed to unethical business practices, failure to embrace technology advancements, and stiff competition among businesses. Imagine that you have been appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer of a Fortune 500 company of your choice and must prepare a presentation for your suppliers regarding your Supplier Code of Conduct to deliver via a web meeting.

This assignment has two parts.

submit a four to six (4–6) page paper that details what you would say in such a presentation following the same prompts as the video assignment below.

For the second part of the assignment, you will create a presentation using PowerPoint (or other equivalent software) summarizing the important changes and explanations regarding the code of conduct that you communicated in your video/paper presentation to email to the suppliers after the meeting for future reference. • Introductory Search – Use the home page’s search box to keyword search many, but not all, databases.

• Nexis Uni – This contains legal information and would be useful to search for court cases in which your company has been involved.

• Mergent Online – This has company info on both public and private companies. Fortune 500 can be public or private. Mergent is known for financial and accounting info, but also has qualitative information too. They offer news feeds, country reports on business environments, industry-wide reporting, company reports, and Annual Reports—the middle 3 are unique to this database. Starting with looking at a company’s annual report would be very useful for this assignment. Industry reports would also be useful to see if your company is involved in any industry-wide initiatives or is notable in its industry in any way (could be good or bad.)

American City Business Journals – This is probably the most fun way to read business news by metro area. They have over 35 journals based around US cities. Look up the metro area your company is associated with, go to ACBJ, then choose the applicable city, and search for news articles.

Research Starters are like the academic version of Wikipedia. Search on a topic to get an overview with links to other information within that topic. It will help you get ideas for keywords for your own searches and what you need to know in order to successfully write your paper.

Based on this case information, first you must develop a business research proposal – SEE Business Research Proposal instructions for specific requirements and assessment criteria. Students will, of course, present different proposals. Note that the assessment of your research report will be partly based on your proposal – that is, your final report (Business Research Report) must follow your Business Research Proposal. Don’t forget that!

Then, upon acceptance of your proposal, you must undertake business research on behalf of Avisto Education to recommend a way forward, with clear financial implications – See Business Research Report instructions for specific requirements and assessment criteria. Again, note that the assessment of your research report will be partly based on your proposal – your report must follow your proposal and where it does not, you must explain why.
