Healthcare FInance Reflective 4

Reflect upon two concepts that you learned in this course (cost-volume-profit analysis and High-Low Method ).

What insight or ideas did you gain from learning each of

these concepts? Were there aspects of the concepts that you would

challenge? What is the importance of these concepts to public health?

How will you use this new wisdom in your current or future career?

In order to earn maximum credit, the comment should be more than your
opinion, and more than a quick “off the top of your head” response. Be
sure to support your statements, cite sources properly, cite within the
text of your comments, and list your reference(s). The response must be a
minimum of 250 words.

Corporate profile (Target Company)

Company: Target in the USA

APA Style, 12 font size, Times New Roman

Length (4 Pages)

Corporate Profile Module I:

Use the outline below as a guide. You are to include three independent sources (not including the textbook or corporation web site) in this section.

  1. Introduce your company. What does it do? How did it get started? How does it add value? Who are the customers it competes for? What risks confront the company? What type of business is it—goods-producing or service? What industry does it operate in? What is it known for?Write an opening paragraph that engages your reader from the outset!
  2. State its mission, vision, and values. Define these terms using the definition from Bovee and Thill (textbook).

The mission: Most companies state their mission on their website. Use your company’s own words in your paper.

The vision: You may have difficulty finding a statement of your company’s vision; if you can’t find it, you should state the vision in your own words based on what you have read about the company’s philosophy and values.

Values: You should find your company’s values on its website.

3. Analyze your company’s mission statement. Does it match the book’s definition of a good mission statement? Why or why not? Is it just “vague happy talk” or does it really say why the company exists?

Overall: Your paper should be a combination of material from the company itself (website is one source), other business references (Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, Business Source Premier, Fortune Magazine, Forbes, Hoovers, Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, Bloomberg, etc.), the textbook, and your own interpretation of the topic.

Find Strategic Opportunities, management homework help

Describe Abell’s three-dimensional business-definition model and explain where it can be utilized. Then, consider Reader’s Digest Association, publisher of Reader’s Digest, the largest circulation magazine in the world in 1992. As famous and as popular as its magazine and brand were at the time, the real value to the company was the huge database of subscribers that it had (around 50 million readers). It has used that database to sell various products such as condensed books and other publications, videos, CDs, and so on. Using Abell’s model, explain what other products it could send down this distribution channel which would be amenable to mail order and that would appeal to its subscriber base.

In addition to the text, you must use at least one scholarly source. Your paper must be two to three pages in length (excluding a cover page and reference page) and formatted according to APA style guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Carefully review the Grading Rubric for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.

Draft two bibliographies and paper

Brief Annotated Bibliography on military (navy if possible) satellite communications.

After examining the Purdue University material on annotated bibliographies(https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/common_…), create a brief annotated bibliography to support the paper listed below. Your annotated bibliography should contain a minimum of five sources, including at least one of each of the following:

  • A credible website
  • An academic source from ebscohost, proquest, or Jew Jersey State Library.
  • A source found through Google Scholar

In your annotation for each source, briefly summarize it; describe its usefulness, reliability, and objectivity; and tell how it fits into your paper.

Cite all sources fully and correctly in MLA format on a separate works cited page.

GUIDELINES for paper

In a paper of between 1000 and 1800 words (4 to 6 pages), do the following:

  • Examine the impact of past, current, and developing technology in military satellite communications, providing specific examples (space race, first flights of satellites etc)
  • Discuss the importance of remaining current in technology and other developments in this field(future communications needs).
  • Explore ways to get and remain current in this field field

Your paper should do the following:

  • Be sure to cover all of the topics listed in the first bulleted list that follows GUIDELINES above.
  • Be sure to support all of your ideas effectively.
  • Organize your paper so that it is clear and the ideas flow naturally.
  • Be sure to document the paper consistently and thoroughly in MLA style formatting with works cited/and cover page
  • Write in a clear, concise way, fully explaining your ideas.
  • Be sure that you use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Include a complete bibliography.
    • Note: Your bibliography should be based off of your Written Assignment 4 (Brief Annotated Bibliography) submission; however, it does not need to be annotated for your final submission.

The final product will be submitted through SafeAssign.

Philosophy Homework

Do a full six-step evaluation of the causal study located at the link below, including a diagram of the design of the study and a diagram of the data: (This link can’t be open, just follow the PDF), second PDF is six-step example.

Part of the data (in italics and noted within the PDF of the media report of the study) had to be added from unpublished information from the clinical trial itself because the otherwise very detailed report by the journalist writing about it in the New York Times left it out. The study is unpublished because the results were just announced on November 16th. Publication is expected in 2020. So, this is real news!

After you write your six-step evaluation, add a 7th “step” to your report to offer a brief reflection (no more than a paragraph) indicating what you could not have done in your evaluation had the italicized information I added to the newspaper report not been included.

Grading Breakdown:

Your report will be graded out of 20 points: 2 points each for steps 1-6 of the six-step evaluation. Your 7th “step” reflection is worth 2 points. And there are 2 points (1 each) for grammar/composition and argument coherence. Two points for your diagram of the study design. Two points for your diagram of the data. There is no need for a bibliography since we know what study you are discussing.

Your report should be 3-5 pages long (double spaced), including diagrams. So, that means 2-3 pages for your six-step evaluation plus a page with the two diagrams. Some people write a bit more per step than others, so that’s why there is a range of lengths from 3-5 pages.

Upload your report as a single PDF including the diagrams as part of your report PDF to Canvas. (If you don’t know how to make PDFs of diagrams or incorporate images with text in a report, ask someone to help you — it’s a skill every college student should have.)

Because this study is included as an assignment, you may NOT use it for your group report due at the end of the quarter.

Week 5 Assignment

PLEASE NOTE THAT ASSIGNMENT WILL BE TURNED IN THROUGH TURNITIN, THEREFORE IT CANNOT BE PLAGIARIZED!

Read Chapters 16, 17 & 18

Answer the following questions using the “TURNITIN” link directly below these instructions. Late work is not accepted. Refer to the Class Schedule for due dates.

Chapter 16

a.

Review the political risk factors, and identify those that could

possibly affect your business. Explain how your cash flows could be

affected?

b. Explain why any threats of terrorism due to

friction between two countries could possibly your business, even if the

terrorism has no effect on the relations between the U.S. and Mexico.

c. Assume there is an upcoming election in Mexico that may result in a complete change in government.

d. Explain why such an election can have significant effects on your cash flows.

Chapter 17

a.

Assume that your business is considering expansion within Mexico. You

plan to invest a small amount of U.S. dollar equity into this project,

and finance the remainder with debt. You can obtain debt financing for

the expansion in Mexico , but the interest rates in Mexico are higher

than in the U.S. Yet, if you used mostly U.S. debt financing, you are

more exposed to exchange rate risk. Explain why.

b. If you

pursue a new project in Mexico , you want to assess the feasibility of

the project if you use mostly U.S. debt financing, versus mostly Mexican

debt financing. Yet, you also want to capture possible exchange rate

effects on your cash flows over time. How can you use capital budgeting

to conduct your comparison?

c. You would prefer to avoid using

Mexican debt to finance your expansion in Mexico because the interest

rates are high. A consultant suggests that you seek one or more

investors in Mexico who would be willing to take an equity position in

your business. You would provide them with periodic dividends and they

would be partial owners of your company. The consultant suggests that

this strategy circumvents the high cost of capital in Mexico because it

uses equity financing instead of debt financing. Is the consultant

correct?

Chapter 18

a. Recall from the previous

chapter that your business is considering expansion within Mexico.

Recall that you plan to invest a small amount of U.S. dollar equity into

this project, and finance the remainder with debt. You can obtain debt

financing for the expansion in Mexico , but the interest rates in

Mexico are higher than in the U.S. Today, you receive credit offers from

different banks. You can either obtain a fixed-rate loan in the U.S. at

8 percent for the life of this project, or a floating-rate loan (rate

changes each year in response to market interest rates) in Mexico at 10

percent. Explain how you could estimate the net present value of the

project for each alternative financing method. Include in your

explanation how you would account for the uncertainty of future interest

rate movements of the Mexican debt.

Intelligence Assessments

Intelligence assessments measure the intelligence quotient of an individual based on a set of norms relative to the general population. Achievement assessments, by contrast, measure acquired knowledge. Despite the value in assessing intelligence and achievement, both types of assessments have limitations. For example, some intelligence and achievement assessments may not be appropriate for certain populations because of the population from which they were normed. A counselor must take into consideration an individual’s cultural and ethnic background when both selecting and considering the results of either type of assessment. For this Discussion, select an intelligence or achievement assessment, and consider its strengths and limitations related to ethical and/or multicultural considerations.

Post by Day 4 a brief description of the intelligence or achievement assessment you selected. Then describe at least one strength and one limitation of the assessment related to diagnosis and treatment. Be sure to include ethical and/or multicultural considerations.
Note: Include the name and citation of the intelligence or achievement assessment you selected in the first line of your post. You will be asked to respond to a colleague who selected an intelligence or achievement assessment that you did not.
