My name is Matthew Brandow.I currently live in Jacksonville, NC where I am a Police Sergeant for the Marine Corps Police Department on Camp Lejeune.I am 32 years old, a prior enlisted Marine, been married for 13 years, have two boys (ages 8 and 11), and the new addition of an 18-week-old Great Dane puppy named Kratos.I looked around for the best college option for me, and with copious amounts of research came to AMU.I have very little time to conduct college work as my job and family take up a lot of my free time.I am in the pursuit of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security.

For the biological dimension of human sexuality, I had a unique situation. My parents were divorced and their differences of educating their children were on very opposite ends of the spectrum. At a very young age (between 3-8 years old) my mother would not talk about much relating to human sexuality, while my father would answer any question with very vivid detail and no filter. This type of education from my parents was good and bad at the same time.I had my first health class in 5th grade, where I already knew a lot of the material because of my father. In 5th grade I was very open about the topics being covered in Health class pertaining to sexual intercourse because I have had discussions about the subject several times in the past.So for the biological dimension I guess you could say I had the school who was the unbiased educator or middle ground for my biological education.

This type of education on human sexuality continued throughout my life. The psychological dimension was influenced a lot by my father who had some very subjective views on what was right and what was wrong.Throughout school I would talk with friends and conduct research for my health class.During my childhood continuing up until high school there was not much socially covered on the topic of homosexuality and being from a small school (class size of 42) the subject was never brought up unless in a derogatory manner. So psychologically I leaned more towards my fathers perspective because he was the most open about the subject.

Socially the subject of human sexuality was rarely talked about during my childhood and adolescent years.During my high school years, and while in the Armed Services is where I obtained the most information/education on what was socially acceptable.

Hi Everyone! May Name is Valerie Schroeter. I am an Army wife, Navy veteran, and stay-at-home mom to a nearly one year old little boy. We are currently stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia and gearing up for a PCS next month. I love spending time with my family, working out, road trips and travel, and when I do have time to myself I like to read and write. My current program in the associate in General Studies program. I am currently in the process of transferring into the business program. My plan for now is to obtain an associate’s degree in business administration and I would like to eventually earn my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Meeting and Event Planning.

I remember I was probably 7 or 8 when my sister and I (who is 14 months younger than I) received “the talk” from my parents. My mom did ALL the talking and my father, is a man of few words. Other than that, I learned about sexuality in school, both middle and high school. My parents have been married for 37 years, and they were high school sweethearts. My mother always told me sex was something you waited to have until you were married. Looking back- I honestly wished I had listened to her and waited until I was married. Old fashioned, maybe, but now as a married woman I just feel like I only shared that part of myself with my husband! Other than the sex talk that my sister and I received, my parents never spoke of sex or sexuality to us. I did talk about it with friends in high school, some of them were even having sex. I look at my parents and their relationship and that has played a part in who I am now. They were always very supportive, as a teenager I did run a little wild, but they were always there when I needed! Thanks for reading!

Are you a romantic or a realist? Why

Are you a romantic or a realist? Why?

Romanticism is such a powerful movement and it leads to some of the most overwhelming works of art Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is the ultimate romantic hero – in the true sense of the word – he follows his dream of creating life at all costs to himself and those around him. Here is a passage from Emily Bronte’s great romantic novel Wuthering Heights:

“The intense horror of nightmare came over me: I tried to draw back my arm, but the hand clung to it, and a most melancholy voice sobbed, ‘Let me in – let me in!’ ‘Who are you?’ I asked, struggling, meanwhile, to disengage myself. ‘Catherine Linton,’ it replied, shiveringly (why did I think of LINTON? I had read EARNSHAW twenty times for Linton) – ‘I’m come home: I’d lost my way on the moor!’ As it spoke, I discerned, obscurely, a child’s face looking through the window.”

PART ONE

In Module 2 we studied customers and vendors. In this assignment, you

will assume the role of the business owner of Kristin Raina Interior

Designs responding to a complaint about billing practices. Below is the

message you received from a customer; your assignment is to write a

professional business letter that will serve as the cover letter for an

updated invoice. After the letter, please write a short summary of

internal control practices that should be in place to avoid this type of

accounting error. Make sure to discuss how this error could be avoided

in the future (note: an updated invoice is not required for this

assignment only the business letter):

Hello Ms. Raina,
I don’t know what is going on with your company. I just received a
bill for 16 hours of design services and 8 hours of decorating
services, I was charged $75 for both, we had agreed on a price of $60
per hour for design services and $50 per hour for decorating services,
as my neighbor Jennie Gunthrie received the same deal.

I am not paying this bill, in fact I already put down a $600
payment, which isn’t reflected on this invoice at all? What is going
on? I need to be compensated for all of my time and if this isn’t
cleared up and a new bill sent out immediately, I will never use your
services and would not recommend your services to anyone.

Sincerely,
Maria Omari

Sam Hernandez has noticed a marked decline in his gross profit
percentage from last year to this year, from 60% down to 40%.

you will respond as Sam to the email below. Think about the kinds of questions that
Sam might still have regarding the solution your classmate has proposed
to him, and ask probing questions to seek clarification. Post your email
as a reply to your classmate’s email.

Dear Mr. Hernandez,

That you for your previous email. I have looked into the
situation deeply to see the possible reasons why the gross profit
percentage dropped 20%. It went from 60% at the beginning of the year to
40%. I believe our pricing of the products are too high and we are not
getting enough revenue in. In this situation there is a chance if
things don’t get better by next year we could have to close the doors. I
believe we should speak further about this in person to get a game plan
for the business. Please advise with a time and date that you would
like to discuss this further.

Thank you,

Kirstin

Read the article Governance in the Spotlight: What Sarbanes Oxley means to You. In this article the author outlines provisions companies are now required to implement. Consider the requirements imposed by Sarbanes Oxley on corporate boards of directors. Do small businesses and privately held companies have ethical duties? If so, to whom would they owe this duty? Employees? Customers? Vendors? Should the law impose ethical requirements on small businesses or privately held companies or can the marketplace police unethical business behavior? Provide support to justify your position.

J.T., a minor, is a motocross competitor. At Monster Mountain MX Park, he signs a waiver of liability to “hold harmless the park for any loss due to negligence.” Riding around the Monster Mountain track, J.T. rides over a blind jump, becomes airborne, and crashes into a tractor that he does not see until he is in the air. To recover for his consequent injuries, J.T. files a suit against Monster Mountain, alleging negligence for its failure to remove the tractor from the track. Does the liability waiver bar this claim?

In a 7- to 10-page scholarly research paper, evaluate one of the enforceable standards in the Ethics Code (Sections 1 through 10) as it applies to an area of your specialization. The enforceable standards are located in Chapters 4–13 of the textbook. Along with the text, use a minimum of five scholarly articles taken from peer-reviewed journals you will find in the Library.

In the paper, you should evaluate the Ethics Code and how each section on the standard you chose will affect the ethical decision-making as it applies to your chosen topic. . You will synthesize the information from the articles and the course readings. This will be the basis for the majority of your paper. In a one page section, please analyze the relationship between your personal values (beliefs, possible biases, morals, etc.) and the professional codes specifically related to ethical decision making.

The paper should:

  • Follow Assignment directions (review grading rubric for best results).
  • Use correct APA formatting per the APA Publication Manual, 6th Edition.
  • Demonstrate college-level communication through the composition of original materials in Standard American English.
  • Be written in Standard American English and be clear, specific, and error-free. If needed, be sure to use the Writing Center for help.

  • Relate the facts of your example. Then, based on the materials in the reading and lecture, explain why the facts you presented did or did not meet the legal requirements for a contract. Be sure to support your response.

Questions for group tutorial from chepter 10 of policy and practice?

Roughly, everyone will be asked about 5-7 questions
• Ideally: two from the content questions and three from
the significance/ interpretation questions
• You will have about two minutes to answer each
question. It’s a good idea to practice and time yourself.
• Depending on time, at the end of each of the two
sections (content and significance/interpretation) and
after everyone has answered at least two to three
questions from the section, I will open it up for a few
minutes to ask if anyone wants to add anything further
from that section, or build from something someone
else had mentioned.

Co Creating Culture Equity and Social Justice

Application: Co-Creating Culture, Equity, and Social Justice—An Evaluation

Bring to mind the key elements of your studies this week: Through the resources, you were introduced to the concept of working for social justice; you familiarized yourself with theoretical ideas about child development as a cultural process; you studied ways in which children actively place themselves into culture and, through personal relationships, transform it; and you examined questions about social justice and equity in early childhood environments.

For this assignment, write a formal analysis paper, at least 3 pages in length, in which you demonstrate your comprehension of the nature and the implications of the topics you studied this week. This paper will consist of two parts. For Part 1, analyze and evaluate Chapter 6 of the course text The Developing Child in the 21st Century. For Part 2, choose one additional topic from the options provided below.

Part 1: Required

  • The Child in Culture, pp. 77–91 of the course text The Developing Child in the 21st Century:
  • What does the author mean when she speaks of the “child in culture?”
  • In what ways does the author connect culture and children’s interactions with culture with Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model?
  • What is “cultural capital,” and what is its significance in relation to equity and social justice for children and families?
  • In what ways is the question of bilingualism or multilingualism relevant in relation to equity and social justice?
  • In what ways, according to the author, are high culture and popular culture related to equity and social justice?

Part 2: Choose one of the topics below:

  • Social Justice in Early Childhood Environments: With regard to the two articles by Boutte and Hyland about social justice in early childhood environments:
    • Why does Boutte speak about “love” and “hate” in relation to social justice?
    • Which two examples does Boutte provide that illustrate misconceptions about diversity and which, in her opinion, contribute to inequities and injustices?
    • What pedagogical strategies supporting social justice does the author present?
    • What is the key difference between culturally relevant pedagogy and critical pedagogy?
    • How are issues of power and inequity addressed in either of these pedagogies?
    • What relevant insight about social justice in early childhood environment did you gain from studying these two articles?
  • Intergenerational Relationships: With regard to the article by Larkin and Kaplan about intergenerational relationships:
    • What is the nature of intergenerational relationships?
    • What specific benefits for children resulted from the intergenerational relationships documented in this article?
    • What specific benefits for adults resulted from the intergenerational relationships documented in this article?
    • In what ways do the authors connect the principle of fostering intergenerational relationships with reducing ageism?
    • What other positive contributions to honoring diversity and working for equity and social justice do you discern as a consequence of intergenerational relationships in early childhood environments?
    • What, if any, challenges might the fostering of intergenerational relationships in early childhood settings present?
  • Global Citizenship: With regard to the article by Miranda about global citizenship:
    • Provide a brief summary of the global citizenship project.
    • In what specific ways does this project address issues of diversity?
    • What connections does the author suggest between working for social justice and working for peace?
    • What dispositions of the people involved contributed, in your opinion, to the success of this project?
    • What challenges can you discern if you wanted to implement a similar project in your community?
    • What is your evaluation of the idea of “global citizenship” as a contributing factor to social justice?
