The argumentative/persuasive essay is a research paper, not a personal essay. Include your thoughts and ideas in the essay, but by writing only in the objective, academic third person. Do not use first person (I, me, my, us, we) or second person (any form of “you”). Please review this information about writing in third person.

You must include 2-3 outside resources in your assignment to support the main points in your essay. These may not include .com or .net domain website sources. Locate academic journal articles in the library, or consider using scholar.google.com to help you find academic-related sources.

Remember that overall, your work should be paraphrased, not filled with numerous direct quotes. In the instance you must use the exact words of a source, make sure you include that additional information of the page (Smith, 2014, p. 34) or paragraph (Smith, 2014, para. 3) reference in the in-text citation.

The submission should include:

  • An APA formatted title page
  • APA in-text citations
  • Two to three (2-3) pages of written work (not counting the title or references pages)
  • An APA formatted references page

Babycakes Budget planning control, economics homework help

Babycakes,
a specialty bakery, is the company that will be considered for all
parts of your budget planning and control report. For this assignment,
you will develop a three to four (3 – 4) page paper in which you
address the following.

  1. Briefly discuss the ways a realistic budget will benefit the owner of Babycakes versus having no budget at all. Be sure to use Babycakes as the company and any specific product details in your explanation.
  2. Prepare a sales budget for the LA Babycakes store for the 4th quarter of 2016. Present
    the number of units, sales price, and total sales for each month;
include October, November, and December, and a total for the quarter.

Use one-half of the Valentine’s Day sales as the basis for a usual day
in the new quarter. Use 30 days for each month. Calculate the total
sales for each month for October, November, and December.
  3. Create
three (3) new products, one (1) for each of the three (3) holiday
seasons in the 4th quarter. Estimate the sales units, sales price, and
total sales for each month. Describe the assumptions used to make these
estimates. Include an overview of the budget in the report, presenting
the actual budget as an appendix with all data and calculations. Add
these amounts to your sales budget.
  4. The owner of Babycakes
is interested in preparing a flexible budget rather than the static
budget she currently uses. She does not understand why, when sales
increase, her static budget often shows an unfavorable variance.
Explain how a flexible budget will overcome this problem. Use the
details of your newly prepared budget for the 4th quarter of 2016 to
    address her concern.
  5. Imagine that Babycakes is facing a
financial challenge that is causing the actual amount of money that it
spends to become significantly more than its budgeted amount. Include a
discussion of your own unique cause of the overspending. Explain the
corrective actions needed to address these challenges.
  6. Integrate relevant information from at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements.

  • Be
typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with
one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or
school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
    instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of
the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course
title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not
included in the required page length.

Group Dynamics and Teams

We will continue our experiential approach to the study of Organizational Behavior by engaging in a personal applied case on the topic of group dynamics and teams. As in Module 1, use the following outline to structure your 4- to 6-page paper. You may use the subtitles as headings for your paper.

Introduction: Discuss the topic of the paper and how you will approach it. It is best to write this section after you have written the rest of the paper.

Concrete Experience: Begin with a specific situation/event. Describe an experience with a group or team that was meaningful to you. It may have been an extraordinarily good experience – or it may have been an experience that did not work out very well at all! The important point is that it should be an experience which you would like to understand better. Be objective and focus on just the facts: who, what, where, when, and how – as if you were composing a newspaper article.

Reflective Observation: Reflect upon that experience from multiple perspectives of persons involved or affected in the experience. Step back from the situation, look at the experience from your own viewpoint, and from the perspective of all other parties involved or affected. You want to look at the circumstances surrounding the experience from every relevant point of view. Why did you behave the way that you did? Why did others behave the way that they did? Did others have the same positive (or negative) experience? Explain. (Note: your discussion of theories and models from your module materials belongs in the following section.)

Abstract Conceptualization: (This Abstract Conceptualization section is the “heart” of your paper.) Use critical thinking skills to understand and interpret the experience at a deeper, more generalizable level. Interpret and understand the events you have described by drawing on the concepts, theories, and models in the background material from this module. Explain how they apply to your experience. For example, what behavior patterns can you identify in yourself and others that are similar to the ones described in the material on communication, teams, and conflict management? Does the model of Force Field Analysis (home page) help you better understand why people behaved the way they did? Be sure to apply at least three concepts, theories, and/or models and cite all references to concepts, ideas, and/or quotes that you use from any outside source.

Active Experimentation: Identify ways to respond to the next occurrence of a similar experience. What have you learned about the way groups work from this analysis? What have you learned from your mistakes? How are you going to put what you have learned to use? What actions will you take to build more effective work teams in your job?

Conclusion: Sum up the main points of your analysis and the key learning you are taking from it.

Reference List: List all references that you have cited in the paper using APA formatting. References include materials from the required background readings as well as any outside internet or library sources you used in researching and writing your paper. If you have APA questions, refer to the optional listings on the background page.

Leading Innovation and Change Through Whole Person Leadership

  • Write a 3-6 page business report that describes a needed change or innovation, explains the value of the change or innovation for the organization, proposes methods for leading and managing the innovation and change process, and proposes strategies for engaging employees in the innovation and change process. Explain how the concept of whole person leadership and personal leadership strengths can help with this effort.

    Introduction

This portfolio work project will help you integrate the concept of whole person leadership into the innovation and change process.

    Scenario

The organization you work for has enjoyed success with a product or service, but customer expectations are changing, and leadership knows that they must rethink how customer expectations are met.

    Your Role

You are a member of a committee tasked with looking at possible innovations for the organization and for determining how to communicate and manage the changes necessary within the company.

    Requirements

For this assessment, you will need to base your work on an organization you worked for in the past, the one you work for now, or one you aspire to work for in the future. The organization you choose should be one where you know that a change is necessary and imminent. For example, you might choose a cable company and know that the spread of Internet television is forcing them to rethink how they serve their customers. Find an industry and topic that are both pertinent for you and can be readily researched online and in the Capella library.
In addition, use the following resource as you complete your assessment:

Write a business report based on the organization and change (or innovation) you have selected. Within the business report, include the following:

    • Briefly describe the innovation or change that is on the horizon.
    • Explain the value of the innovation or change in terms of:
      • Why the innovation or change is necessary.
      • The benefits for the future of the organization.
    • Propose methods for leading and managing the innovation and change process.
      • What steps will be needed to prepare for and implement the change?
      • Does the organization follow Kotter’s 8-step process? If not, how can you convince leadership of the benefits of using the process?
      • What steps can be taken to mitigate possible issues in the innovation and change process?
    • Propose strategies for engaging employees in the innovation and change process.
      • How should the innovation and change be communicated to the organization?
      • How will you handle resistance and opposition to the innovation and change?
    • How will the concepts of whole person leadership, as well as what you learned about your strengths through the BetterUp self-assessment and coaching session, help you succeed in this effort?

Note: For this final assessment, you may want to consider submitting a draft to Smarthinking or Turnitin for feedback. Smarthinking can provide feedback on your writing. Turnitin can provide feedback on whether you are citing and referencing your resources correctly. Refer to the MBA Program Resources link in the courseroom navigation panel for details on using Smarthinking and Turnitin.

Literature & Poetry Lovers – this is for you!!!

Thematic textbook chapter: Using our textbook (The Norton Introduction to Literature by Kelly J Mays) as a model for organization and presentation, create a chapter that could be used in a textbook to teach, demonstrate, and explain a particular theme or concept you have chosen, using examples from our textbook of all three genres.

For example, you might create a chapter on works that deal with childhood, or marriage, or urban life, or death.  The chapter must include four poems, three short stories, and two plays or one play and a film.  At least one work in each genre must be from our assigned reading; the others need not be, but they must all be from our textbook (except for the film; however, the film must have artistic/literary merit).  The chapter will include a close reading of each work and an explanation of how that work embodies the theme you have chosen.  Use at least three scholarly articles to enhance your interpretations; summarize the articles’ arguments about the works rather than just quoting directly from them. Be sure to make connections between the works

(for example, comparison and/or contrast).  MLA citations required, both within the text and in a Works Cited page.  Feel free to also include relevant biographical or historical information and/or visuals (be sure to cite them).  Length: 8-10 pages.

Readings will be provided once bid accepted.

critical evaluation MLA citation

Instructions: Your first essay – the critical evaluation essay – is due at the end of week three. In this essay, you will be critically evaluating a classic argument. Do not use your forum for your essay.

Choose one argument from the historic American or global works listed in the “Supplemental Readings” section of the course lessons. Decide whether this argument is successful or not. If you decide this essay is successful, discuss why. You may use the structure of the argument, the tone, and the various types of support (ethos, pathos, and logos) as proof of the argument’s success. Make sure that your thesis has an introduction that contains a hook and a thesis, body paragraphs that discuss one proof at a time (one paragraph per example), and a conclusion. If you decide that the essay is not successful, then discuss the fallacies that the argument makes. You are still required to have a strong introduction (hook and thesis), body paragraphs that discuss one fallacy at a time, and a conclusion. You may also discuss how the essay is successful with reservations. In this case, point to both the support and the fallacies you have found in the work.

This paper should be at least 700 words, but no more than 850. The paper should be formatted correctly MLA style and written in third person (do not use the words I, me, us, we, or you).  The essay should also contain citations and a works cited list. Formulate the structured response from your own close reading of the text. Do not use outside sources (open Web) without explicit permission from the instructor.Submission Instructions: Please submit this through the assignments link in the classroom. This assignment is due on Sunday, by 11:55 p.m., ET.

I picked Judith Sargent Murray 1751-1820 On the equality of the sexes.however with the critical evaluation essay we are to determine whether or not you support Murray’s argument on equality of the sexes and if so why or why not.  Critical evaluation improves the quality of your work and how the work proves its argument

LASA 2: Case Study of Emotional Disorders

LASA 2: Case Study of Emotional Disorders

In this assignment, you will analyze a fictional scenario and identify the possible disorders involved. All the information needed for this assignment can be found in the textbook.

Read the following vignettes:

Emotional Disorder—Male Vignette

Nadif is a seven-year-old Somali-American boy who is homeschooled by his mother. When Nadif was four years old, his family immigrated to the United States from war-torn Somalia after living in a refugee camp. His family has been concerned about him from the time they lived at the camp. He used to have an average appetite and slept relatively well. Now, he wakes in the night, often with nightmares in which he becomes lost or separated from his family. Nadif’s appetite has also been affected. He often reports stomachaches and lack of appetite. His parents describe him as “nervous” most of the time, particularly when his mother is not home. Nadif is too afraid to attend school away from his parents, so his mother has chosen to homeschool him until he feels more secure when away from his family.

Nadif seems to feel relatively comfortable out in public, as long as his family accompanies him on outings. His parents are somewhat puzzled by his anxiety, as he has never been lost. Although they all experienced hardships in Somalia, none of them was a direct victim of any intensely traumatic event. Nadif claims he does not remember much of his time in Somalia. His family hopes therapy will help Nadif feel calmer when they are not present, so that he can attend school, develop friendships, and become increasingly more independent.

Emotional Disorder—Female Vignette

Jada is a sixteen-year-old African American girl enrolled as a junior at the local public high school. She has won numerous honors throughout her educational career for her academic performance; but her greatest joy comes from playing the piano and singing in her church choir. Jada’s vocal instructor raves about her singing voice and about her potential for a career in music.

Jada hopes to attend a prestigious music school in New York City upon graduating from high school, but worries about the cost and how much she will miss her family. The pressure of an upcoming audition at school has caused Jada a great deal of stress. She fears she will not be accepted or will not be able to attend for financial reasons. The stress has begun to affect her daily functioning. She is having difficulty sleeping, has lost weight due to decreased appetite, and is beginning to feel hopeless about her future. Jada’s friends describe her as being “irrational” about the situation and “catastrophizing.” Despite their best efforts, they cannot convince her that she has a strong chance. At her weakest moments, Jada has even spoken passively of wishing she would die, so she would not have to face the stress anymore.

During the past two weeks, Jada has been sad and tearful on most days and has lost interest in her favorite activities. Last weekend, she was caught drinking alcohol with some friends. She admitted to her parents that she has had alcohol on three separate occasions because it helps her “stop feeling stressed.”

Select one of the above vignettes and analyze it by completing the following:

  • Identify and describe two possible emotional disorders one might consider as DSM diagnoses for this child or adolescent. Make sure you support those choices with specific symptoms observed in the vignette.
  • Compare and contrast the two diagnoses and then select one that you consider the most appropriate DSM diagnosis. Explain why one is more likely than the other.
  • After reviewing recent research studies, readings in your textbook, and other academic sources, provide a thorough description of the following:
    • The symptoms required for a diagnosis of that disorder
    • At least two possible causes of that disorder, incorporating at least one developmental factor and at least one multicultural factor that may be involved in the cause(s) of the disorder
    • At least three of the most effective treatments available for that disorder
    • At least one controversy, cultural bias, or ethical issue related to the diagnosis or treatment of that disorder
    • Ethical issues related to the use of psychiatric medications, like antidepressants, to treat emotional disorders in children and adolescents.

Write an 8–10-page paper in Word format. Add an APA style title page and references page and cite your sources according to current APA standards. Cite information from at least two academic sources to support your ideas. These include your textbook, and two peer-reviewed research articles from the AUO library.

Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources, and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
