Critical Review

he final assignment for this class will be a 10-page critical review

of the drug treatment for a psychiatric disorder (broadly defined to

include psychological and neurological disorders as well). The review

will use peer-reviewed sources to evaluate the current drug treatment

modalities for the selected disorder and determine the adequacy of those

treatments. The paper will be evaluated on the inclusion of the

following information:

Introduction
Evaluate the disorder in terms of
symptomatic and behavioral presentation. Include the time, course, and
progression of the disorder. Evaluate and explain special features of
the disease epidemiology.

Theory
Evaluate the predominant theory or
theories regarding the biological basis of the disorder. Explain the
disorder in terms of pertinent neurotransmitter and receptor theories
and describe the pertinent evidence of their involvement. Analyze the
neurotransmitter systems in terms of the involved receptors and the use
receptor agonists and antagonists in the treatment of the disorder
receptor. Include information on the anatomic changes to the central
nervous system as appropriate to the topic.

Treatment
Evaluate drug therapies for treating
the disorder based on the current understanding of the biological basis
of the disorder and the corresponding behavioral effects of the
disorder. Explain pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in relation to
the disorder and corresponding drug treatment. Describe any side effects
and adverse effects of the drug treatment and their biological basis,
including issues related to contraindications, interactions, drug
metabolism, and elimination. In addition, explain risks, benefits, and
ethical implications for high-risk and exceptional treatment conditions.

Conclusion
Summarize theories of psychiatric
disease as they relate to principles of drug action within the chosen
topic. Evaluate advantages and disadvantages of the current theory of
the disorder and its treatment and evaluate any controversies regarding
ethical and/or risk-benefits perspectives associated with the current
treatment. Describe possible areas for future research.

Help with law question

You are the manager of Acme Fireworks, a fireworks retailer who sells fireworks, puts on ground display fireworks, and large aerial display fireworks. The company started in the owner’s garage two years ago and now has 15 employees that you manage. The company started as a sole proprietorship, and the owner has never changed the entity. The owner has informed you that the company has received inquiries from several large businesses wondering if the company could create several fireworks displays on a regular basis. The owner told the inquirers that the company could fill such display orders, and a price per display was agreed upon. It was discussed that most of the cost for a fireworks display is for skilled labor, insurance, and the actual service of setting off the fireworks. No other details were discussed. The owner is anticipating that new employees will need to be hired, but he is worried that if the large orders for fireworks displays do not continue, the company will not have the funds to pay the new employees. The owner is now considering changing the business entity, but he does not know what entity to form or how to form it.

  • Explain why Acme Fireworks should not operate as a sole proprietorship. Recommend a new business entity, and provide rationale to support your recommendation.

  • Establishing a link between causes and effects without proper causal claims leads to wrong conclusions. According to the textbook, “although we recognize the importance of establishing causal relationships, it is also true that doing so is very difficult” (Dyer, 2011). Therefore, it is important to think rigorously and connect the evidence from research. The common mistake that could be made when developing causal claims is the post hoc fallacy. It means that the writer falsely identifies that one event caused the other while there are actually underlying causes. Also, it is important to identify correlation between two events which does not guarantee a cause effect relationship. Avoiding generalization is also important because it is a weak strategy when establishing cause-and-effect link. Another area that should be avoided is bare assertions that deny an opposing position by saying that is just the way it is (Inquire, 2017). Avoiding ambiguity which refers to a statement that can be taken two different ways is also a good strategy.

Two:

  • In order to avoid making false causal claims, one needs to do their research and make sure they have reliable sources that their evidence is coming from. False claims = invalid arguments. If you give the audience false claims, then it takes away from your credibility. The key is to research and not just to assume things. With that, an argument could easily be won.

Three:

  • The advantage of NPV method is “the NPV method produces a dollar amount that indicates how much value the project will create for the company. Stockholders can see clearly how much a project will contribute to their value” (Woodruff, 2019). The IRR is that it assumes that the future cash flow are reinvested. The disadvantage of the IRR is there can be multiple IRR of a project. The MIRR the cash outflows are discounted and a disadvantage of MIRR is it the opposite of NPV.The method that I would choose is NPV, because it shows the value being created by the project.

Tools, Models, and Techniques

Overview

Now that you have defined the quality dimensions, you will need to determine which quality process improvement tools and techniques would bring the biggest benefit to your project. Some of the tools that you may want to research include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lean thinking
  • Value stream process mapping
  • Kaizen (The Japanese word for Continuous Improvement)
  • Five Ss (separate, straighten, scrub, standardize, systematize)
  • Kanban

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 350–500 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

Research at least 2 sources (which may include your textbook) to support your response. Discuss the following:

  • Compare and contrast 3 process improvement tools and techniques from the tools listed above.
  • In your opinion, which is the best quality process improvement tool or technique to implement in your project? Why?

Write 2 more paragraphs that are an introduction and conclusion to this topic. Be sure to include your references, and format your submission in APA format.

Identify uses, strengths, and limitations for main study methods, assignment help

Demonstrate college-level communication through the composition of original materials in Standard American English.

As you have learned during this class, the many methods of research available make it helpful to think through the different options prior to determining which research method is appropriate for your study. It is important to think of what is most needed from your study results when choosing what method to use. If a researcher wants to study an exercise intervention for reducing depression, s/he might study this approach in depth with one person using a single case study, s/he might try to study this by watching people and collecting observational data, s/he might survey people on their rates of exercise and their moods, s/he might collect data from people who regularly use their gym membership and people who do not in terms of their mood, or s/he might randomly assign people to receive or not receive an exercise intervention. Different research designs yield different data. The data obtained, in turn, impact the conclusions that can be made and the implications of study results for professionals working in the field.

For this expository essay, you will identify uses, strengths, and limitations for main study methods discussed in class for a topic of interest (ideally the topic you have used for the course learning activities, but this is not required). You will then choose which of these methods you think is best for studying your research question and design a study using the chosen method. You will present hypothetical findings, discuss limitations of your study, discuss areas for further research, and discuss how your study findings could be used by professionals in the field.

  • Compose your paper in a Word document
  • Title and Reference pages are required
  • The viewpoint and purpose should be clearly established and sustained
  • The paper should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling)
  • The writing should be well ordered, logical and unified, as well as original and insightful

Internal Memo:

I’ve attached a previous internal memo to use for a reference. I will also attach any necessary supporting documents.

This week, you will have to research and write an office memo. Read this Memo sent to you by the Senior Partner in your law firm, Plentibux & Moore:

Memo to: Jack Starr, Paralegal
Sanity Boards

I was just contacted by my good friend, Fred Payne, about his son, Sergeant Ima Payne of the United States Army Infantry. It seems SGT Payne has gotten in to some trouble and has been criminally charged by the Army. Fred did not know what the charges were, but at this point, that is not important. Fred told me that his son has been acting very strangely and asked me about the rules for having a soldier facing court-martial evaluated by a sanity board.

Here is the thing – Ima is an interesting fellow. Over the years, most folks who met him would shake their heads and wonder what was with that guy. He doesn’t seem to be on the same sheet of music as most folks and is always doing strange things. It seems this pattern of behavior has continued, and his father strongly suspects that it may be connected to his misconduct in the Army. He also has some question in his mind about whether his son will be able to participate meaningfully in his defense, as he seems to be disoriented and is displaying bizarre behavior.

I need a quick but detailed answer as to what a sanity board is, how it must be requested, and if and when a military judge is required by law to approve such a request. I believe that Rule for Courts-Martial (R.C.M.) 706, found in the Manual for Courts-Martial (M.C.M.), is the applicable rule. I want you to focus on the rule and how it is to be applied. We don’t know much about the case at this point, but don’t worry about that. Again – right now, I am just concerned about the rule and how it is to be applied by the military judge.

Here are some cases that I want you to review. They should shed more light on the standard the military judge must apply in deciding whether or not to order a sanity board. The cases are as follows:

United States v. Nix, 36 C.M.R. 76 (C.M.A. 1965).

Draft an office memorandum. In drafting the memo, please take a look at the below example:

http://www.law.cuny.edu/legal-writing/students/memorandum/memorandum-4b.html

Make sure you cite the relevant R.C.M. and the case law in your memo. Your answer must not exceed five pages in length. Make sure you use proper Blue Book citation in your memo. You will find a link to the 2016 Manual for Courts-Martial below. Use LexisNexis for your research.

Here is an additional note to help you with the case citation for the cases I’ve given you. Over the years, the names of the military appellate courts have changed. That accounts for the different citations you see in the cases I listed. The highest military appellate court was named the Court of Military Appeals (C.M.A.) back when Nix was decided. It was re-designated as the Federal Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (C.A.A.F.) before Pattin was decided. Similarly, the Army Court of Military Review (A.C.M.R.) was re-designated the Army Court of Criminal Appeals (A.C.M.R.). Additionally, the reporter in which military cases were published was formerly the Courts-Martial Reports (C.M.R.) from 1951 until 1975. This was changed in 1975 to the Military Justice Reports (M.J.). The Military Justice Reports is still in use today.
