About Film Neorealism, read two short articles, then answer question in 400 words

Please go through the two articles (in attachments), then answer the following questions in 400 word.

Bazin and Zavattini are both interested in seeing “reality” conveyed on screen, albeit in different ways. Bazin’s
emphasis on the long take and deep focus might be considered a phenomenological realism, as this this kind
of filmmaking reflects the way humans experience space and time. Zavattini, on the other hand, is primarily
interested in social realism, focusing on actual, everyday problems of common people. But these two aspects
may be related as well, with the long duration and ambiguity of the deep focus shot capturing certain social
realities typically neglected in many classical Hollywood films.

With either/both of these aspects of “realism” in mind, address how you see this conveyed in Bicycle Thieves
or any other film (there is a subcategory of contemporary indie films critics have called “neo-neorealism”) that
may take up this approach to great effect.

watch a movie and answer the questions

You need to watch the movie Dirt found at the link below.

https://youtu.be/uHhhHpohglg

Then answer the questions below. Answer the questions in a google doc and submit here.

THINKING MORE DEEPLY

1. How do most Americans react to the idea of children playing in dirt? Why do you think they react that way?

2. Several people in the film indicate that working in dirt is calming or satisfying. In your experience, is this true? If so, why?

3. What is your reaction to hearing about the number of farmer suicides in rural India over the past decade? (The film reports there were 200,000.) If such a thing occurred in this country, what do you think would happen?

4. Is it possible to reconcile food sovereignty and globalization? In other words, how can people retain and exercise their right to produce and control their own food resources in the face of international market forces?

5. In the film, mycologist Paul Stamets characterizes the human species as a virus because of the harmful effects our activities have had on the land. Do you accept his analogy? Why or why not?

6. How can humans “listen to nature” and bring their needs and activities into alignment with those of nature? Are there ways you can be more attentive to the natural world in your daily life? How?

7. Keeping in mind the hummingbird story told in the film, do you think doing the best you can is enough to preserve the health of the planet, even if millions of people do their best? What responsibility do governments have to help maintain a healthy planet for future generations?

8. What about business and industry? What power do people have to get businesses to make changes that would be less harmful to nature while still meeting human needs?

9. What feelings are you left with after seeing this film? Do you feel motivated or empowered to make changes — either personally or as part of a group effort — to keep Earth’s soil healthy? What part(s) of the film especially resonated with you?

Reflections on Health-Care Policy

Watch Rebecca Onie: What if our healthcare system kept us healthy? For your journal entry, you will explore aspects of your personal experience and/or beliefs regarding significant public policies and what you have learned in your readings. As you reflect, please address the following questions:

  1. What are the major current healthcare issues and policies (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act – 2010)?
  2. How do you feel about the new health care policy?
  3. What, if anything, has changed or is changing, and how does it affect you personally?
  4. What were your thoughts prior to this week’s readings?
  5. How has your perspective been either reinforced or changed now that you are more informed?

Advance Directive, health and medical assignment help

Please research and then consider the role of hospice and palliative medicine at the end-of-life. Research the costs of end-of-life care in our country, as well. Discuss whether or not your credible sources believe extraordinary care should continue when efforts will be futile and why they feel this way; your opinions are not required but are welcomed. Then, research Virginia Advance Directive laws. Describe the law in your words and describe the functions of the forms. Do the forms contain information on power of attorney? Do the forms contain information on a living will? Is it law in your state that hospitals ask patients if they have a Living Will and provide education if not?
