Prepare Annotated Bibliography

Return to the library to gather 5 more scholarly research articles. This will bring your total gathered articles to a minimum of 15. It will be important for you to have true research articles (all research elements as covered in Week 3) to use in this assignment. See the Quantitative and Qualitative outlines below. For this assignment, compile an annotated bibliography using the template provided. Your annotated bibliography will include five entries. You can choose any of the 15 research articles that you have gathered to date. Be sure to make use of your new note-taking skills when preparing the information in the annotated bibliography and follow APA form and style in preparing the bibliographical information. For each entry, include the following:

  • type and purpose
  • methodology
  • conclusion
  • evaluation

Length: 5-7 pages, not including the title and reference pages

References: Minimum of five annotated references.

Outlines for Completing the Annotations

The following are suggested outlines for completing the annotations. They include brief questions that can be used as a checklist for critical reading of the scholarly research articles. You should know the meanings of all the italicized terms used in the outline starting with the similarities and important difference(s) between quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research designs.

Annotations provide excellent practice with the language used to discuss research. The annotations should be written in a narrative format using clear and concise language. They should not be answers to the questions posed below (those are for locating information), nor should they be a series of quotations from the article, nor should they be composed of one or more bulleted lists of information.

– What is the most surprising thing to you from the teardown?

Answer this two questions see on the description

Individual Assignment:

There are two case scenarios below. You are a healthcare consultant/administrator advising the client/employer in each scenario. Read both scenarios and then answer each of the questions as if you were advising your client/employer in writing. Make sure to explain your answers. Use the course reading to answer the questions. You may also add additional research.

This is an individual assignment. You may not discuss your answers with your classmates.

The report should be at least 2 full pages double spaced, 1 inch margins. DO NOT REPEAT THE SCENARIO IN YOUR ANSWER.

Scenario #1: Your client/employer ABC hospital enters into an agreement with Novarmints pharma company to participate in a drug study. To conduct the study at the hospital, ABC asks physician Dr. No to serve as the principal investigator to conduct the pharma study for ABC. Dr. No is not a hospital employee but is on staff at the hospital. As part of the contract negotiations his contract negotiations with the hospital, Dr. No asks the hospital to pass along to him 50% of the contract fees that Novarmints has promised to ABC for conducting the study. Would Dr. No’s proposed split be lawful under the Stark law? Explain your answer. If not, explain the potential consequences of a violation.

Scenario #2: Dr. No is invited by Novarmints to take part in a study involving a recently FDA-approved drug that it is in the process of marketing to the public. Dr. No would be required to prescribe the drug for his patients and thencomplete a brief questionnaire about each patient’s experience with the drug. The questionnaire for each patient is expected to take about 20 minutes to complete. Novarmintswill pay Dr. No $3,000 for each completed questionnaire. Dr. No sees this as “easy money” and a great way to increase practice revenues. Would this arrangement be lawful under the Anti-kickback statute? Explain your answer. If not, explain the potential consequences of a violation. Hint: Is this a real drug study?

Entrepreneurial Finance Final Paper

Throughout this seminar experience, you have explored foundational content, past and current research, and trends and innovations in the field of entrepreneurial finance. In addition to acquiring this body of knowledge, you have also considered possible areas for future research in the field.

current situation in Guantanamo Bay. What are your personal opinions on the
issue, i.e., what should the U.S do and specifically why?

Healthy People Initiative (2)

Dear Professor Yesenosky and class,

Some additional information that I would need to gather would be Maria’s eating habits and activity levels. I would need to know how often she eats, her servings and what types of food she consumes. Is she eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains? How often does she exercise? What medications she is currently prescribed, including all over the counter medications? I would also like to know her past and current medical history, along with her family history. Is there a history of diabetes, obesity, or cardiac issues?

Maria’s real health risk would be obesity, of course we would need to obtain an accurate weight first. Her potential risks would include diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

Maria’s culture is important when obtaining a health assessment because her Hispanic culture could influence her dietary habits and medications. Her culture could also increase her risk of developing other health concerns such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer (Tung, 2015).

The health risk of obesity can be managed by providing nutrition education and initiating a physical activity schedule. Maria could start by watching her calorie intake, eating healthy foods and consuming food in moderation. She can do this by documenting in a food diary and recording her weight. Maria could also begin exercising daily or at least every other day until she can free up some of her time. She could set a short-term goal of losing 5 pounds in a 3-month time frame.

A nursing intervention that I would incorporate into Maria’s plan of care to assist her with meeting a 5-pound weight loss would be exercising daily or every other day for 20-30 minutes, she could do this at the college gym, in between classes. She could also begin documenting in a food diary, and limit sweets and foods high in sugar. The food diary will assist her in determining foods that are high in calories and fat, and how she can eliminate them.

Thank you, Kelly

paragraph responding to the discussion bellow

Please write a paragraph responding to the discussion bellow. Add citations and references in alphabetical order.

EBP is the conscientious, categorical, and
astute approach towards a patient’s holistic health using the current
and most appropriate clinical literature available, tailored to fit the patient’s
specific health requirements and conditions. (Samonte & Vallente, 2016).

An example of nursing practice where evidence
based practice has improved patient outcomes is Foley care and its removal to
prevent Catheter Associated Urinary Tract infection (CAUTIs). CAUTIs are
documented in the EBP research to “Contribute to as many as 25.6% of hospital
acquired infections (HAIs). These infections are linked to increased rates of
morbidity and mortality, longer lengths of stay in the hospital and increase
hospitalization costs. The evidence identified that the risk for infection is
“estimated at 3-7%” for each day the catheter remains in the patient. The
research led to proactive practices discontinuing the catheter as early as
possible. According to the study done by Nicolle, L. et al., it suggests that,
systematic review in hospitalized patients reported that the use of an
intervention including a reminder to staff that a catheter was in place and/or
a stop order to prompt removal of unnecessary catheters reduced the CAUTI rate
by 53% (Nicolle, L. et al., 2014).

Another example of nursing practice where
evidenced based nursing practice has improved patient outcome is of standards
of care and flushing protocols for central venous access devices (CVADs). According
to the research article by Freire et al., establishing a multidisciplinary team
to specifically focus on care of CVAD, together with systematic reporting of
infections, appears to reduce the rates of infection related to the use of
these devices. The objective of the study was to describe the epidemiology of
infections related to the use of implantable central venous access devices
(CVADs) in cancer patients and to evaluate measures aimed at reducing the rates
of such infections. The findings of the same study suggested that the rate of
CVAD-related infection dropped from 2.2 to 0.24 per 1,000
catheter-days with the standards of care and flushing protocols.

The above mentioned examples of evidenced
based research and changes in practice brought changes significantly in outcome
indicating that nurses can modify the outdated practices that are no longer
relevant or in the best interest of the patient’s well-being based on the
evidence based research. In my practice presently, flushing of central lines at
least once a shift and proper documentation has had a profound impact on
reducing central line infections.
