Why did the US invade Iraq in 2003?, research paper help

The
Research Paper.

You will write a 5-6page ORIGINAL, ANALYTICAL research
paper.  In this paper, you will
choose an event from the last 100 years that addresses a why question, or which
seeks to explain an outcome of some significance over the last 100 years.  The paper must be based on at least 3-5 primary
sources that offer insight into the question; three scholarly books and four
scholarly articles.  The research
question and argument must be laid out clearly and  should give a
sense of how you will prove your argument.

The topic question is “Why did the US invade Iraq in
2003?”

You should organize your paper in:

1.  a clear
introduction that presents the puzzling event/issue that you will explain and
states your argument in brief;

2.  supporting
sections with evidence that develops your argument and considers alternative
explanations, and;

3.  a
conclusion that summarizes your arguments and illustrates its significance
(answering the “so-what” question).

All papers must be typed, in 12
point type, New Times Roman font, double spaced, MINIMUM MARGINS OF 1 INCH
ON ALL SIDES.  All writing assignments
should have an argument put forward by you.
Ideally, they should address a “why” question and have a thesis statement
(an argument that answers why something happened for example).

Be very careful about writing a paper that simply
summarizes the contents of the primary sources.
Of course, you will have to understand the documents and briefly present
an overview of them, but your assignment is to explain and interpret
the evidence (documents).  Additionally,
beware of gushing or ranting about your documents. Don’t simply assert or
suggest your views. Instead, prove and demonstrate them.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

    1. Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.

    Terrorism and Historical Motivations

    Introduction

Many people dismissively throw around the term, terrorist. It has, historically, been applied to many acts and individuals that were not terrorists. To avoid confusion, and to set the groundwork for this entire course, we need to understand what it means to be called a terrorist. In conjunction with defining the term, we also need to understand the traditional motivations behind it, to better develop plans to mitigate it.

Suppose you are a captain in a local police municipality that employs several hundred officers and services a medium-sized metropolitan area. Your police chief has expressed an interest in developing a means to prevent, respond to, and recover from possible terrorist attacks. He is a careful and thoughtful politician, and realizes that there is a substantial number of people within the city that, due to the current political environment, feel that the police view them as terrorists without any just cause to do so. Therefore, he has assigned you to educate him about terrorism, what law enforcement can do about it, how to mitigate it, and how to build community relations to help in this endeavor. But first, he wants to start with the historical causes of terrorism both internationally as well as domestically. Specifically, he has asked for two interoffice memos to be addressed to him.

    Discussion Post:

    • Define the term, terrorist.
    • Evaluate whether there any special considerations when deciding to utilize the term or not.
    • Differentiate between the historical causes of terrorism in relation to their motivations and results (left, right, ethnic separatist, and religious terrorism).
    • Provide a historical example of each type (left, right, ethnic separatist, and religious terrorism).

    Applying Servant Leadership

Select and research a contemporary political, social, religious, or business, leader to learn about how the leader employs Greenleaf’s principles of servant leadership to motivate, influence, and lead others. You may use the “Individual and Corporate Servant Leaders” handout in the Topic Materials if you need assistance locating potential leaders. Write a 500-750 word paper that addresses the following.

    • Summary of the principles of servant leadership employed by the leader.
    • Specific examples to illustrate the leader’s application of servant leadership principles.
    • Information about the unique way the leader inspires followership.
    • Discussion of what would you seek to emulate or see more of in your own organization from both the people who lead you and the leadership you provide to others?

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Please refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

HIS 114 SNHU Women’s Suffrage Assignment

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

    1. Develop a thesis statement that responds to the research question and includes three components you will defend in your essay.
    2. Establish the Context: In this section, you will write multiple paragraphs using information from the course regarding the time period in which yo ur historical event took place. You will use this section to set the stage for your argument. This section of your essay must include the following:

    A. Describe your chosen historical event with clear and accurate information about why it happened, when it happened, and who was involved.

    The description must include:
    1. Cause(s): What events led to the event you selected? 2. Participants: Who was involved?
    3. Chronology: When did this happen?

Thank you for sending the milestone for comment. This submission has several good pieces of information but needs several changes:

    1. Format: Did you use the writing template in the text in chapter 3? I ask because the attached document is not in the proper format. There must be a thesis and then there must be an event description. Each of these sections must have headings. Please see the text for format.

    2. Documentation: There must be documentation for all facts and ideas. If you use the writing template in the text, all the citations you select will be properly formatted but you’ll have to select the sources for the citation.

    3. Length: Try to keep this to no more than two pages as the entire paper can be no longer than six pages and you have two more milestones to complete.

    4. Content: Have to you looked at the guidance provided in this week’s announcements? If not, then please do so as the announcements on Monday and Wednesday provide very specific information about how each section should be structured and what information it should contain. The milestone must include a thesis and an event description that provides the cause, participants, and brief chronology of the event.
