Instructions

For your final paper, you have two topic
choices.

You must include,
at minimum, three separate pieces of support from the course material. The
resources below will help you, and you may also draw from any of the course’s
weekly material. Follow APA guidelines for paper format, citing and
referencing.

CHOICE
1:
View the Tuskegee Study resources below. Choose at least two
ethical theories we have studied over the course of the previous nine weeks, and
apply them to the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. A few questions you should address in
your paper:

  1. To what specific
actions and members do your chosen ethical concepts apply?
  2. What guidelines were
violated and how are the guidelines similar to your chosen ethical
    concepts?
  3. How do the outcomes
of the Tuskegee study affect understanding of the need for trust in the medical
    profession?

CHOICE
2:
Social justice is a growing concern as it relates to health,
quality of life, infant mortality, and life expectancy. There is growing concern
that the wealthy are getting wealthier at the expense of the poor, who are
getting poorer. Consider once again, the TED Talk from week 6 and the idea of inequality and
application of the “Veil of Ignorance”

Answer this
question: “Is the growing wealth divide ethical?”

  1. Choose a side: pro
or con. You may not choose a neutral stance.
  2. Review the videos
below. You may use additional, credible sources of your own as well.
  3. Address why you have
chosen your stance, using support for your view from the weekly material and the
    videos below.

From the UNNATURAL
CAUSES series:  Episode 7 – Not Just a Paycheck: Growing Wealth Divide
Is Bad for Health

From the UNNATURAL
CAUSES series:  Episode 5 – Place Matters: Living in Disadvantaged
neighborhoods is bad for your health

From the UNNATURAL
CAUSES series:  Episode 1 – In Sickness and In Wealth: There’s No Such
Thing as Small Stuff: Being Poor in Louisville

Your final paper should be
three full pages, in 12 pt. Times New Roman font,
include a cover page and reference page, and be formatted according to APA
guidelines.

Asthma Research Assignment

The following are the instructions for this assignment:

You will gather data about your health issue and determine the causes and social determinants that impact this health condition. You will be asked to find the following data. HEALTH ISSUE IS ASTHMA.

Section 1: Data about your health topic (10 points)

This section is about providing data. A list or bullet points are fine. No narrative to describe the data is required.

For your health topic, find out the most recent U.S. statistics: (you may need to think outside the box for some of these rates depending on your topic)

• Incidence and/or prevalence rate of disease or condition (indicate which)

• Death or case fatality rate of disease or condition (indicate which)

• Data and rates on:

• Race and/or ethnicity

• Gender/Sex

• Age

All population health rates should be properly expressed. Provide an APA citation for your data sources for each static or you will not receive credit. For information on citations for online resources:

https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/reference_list_electronic_sources.html

Section 2: Is this problem getting better or worse? (10 points)

Answer in 3 paragraphs or less: Is the health problem getting better or worse? Use at least three points in time to make your assertion (for example, provide incidence rates for the years 1990, 2000 and 2010). Then discuss WHY you think the problem is getting better or worse.

Do not use three points over a short period of time (2010, 2011, and 2012) and do not try to compare different rates (incidence and death, or prevalence and incidence). The rates compared must be the same rates from the same source.

Provide an APA citation for your data sources or you will not receive credit.

Section 3: Social Determinants (30 points)

Identify 5 Social Determinants of Health related to this health issue. Be creative. (10 points)

For each of the Social Determinants of Health you identified, write 2-3 bullet points relating it to the health issue you chose. Think about how these determinants impact your health issue and how it connects to the concepts we have covered this semester. (20 points)

Everything must be written IN YOUR OWN WORDS. If you use a resource to identify social determinants for your health condition, that is perfectly acceptable provided you properly cite your resources using APA style and use your own words to describe them.

For example:

Social Determinant: Poverty

Bullet Points:

• People who suffer from this health condition are much more likely to be poor.

• Poverty is associated with decreased overall health and longevity, adversely affecting the outcomes of those diagnosed with this condition.

Having trouble with social determinants? Here are some resources that might help.

EXTERNALLY YOURS MEDICINE

Assignment Details

Fountain of Youth (FOY) Incorporated is a corporation that recently started selling a new over the counter anti-aging pill, Eternally Yours. Despite brisk sales over the past quarter, sales and management team members have been receiving feedback from customers and retailers that the product has some unanticipated side effects. The product is not lethal, but the typical complaints include allergic reactions, rashes, sever skin peeling, and in very rare instances, blindness.

Technicians at FOY have indicated they could recall and reformulate Eternally Yours, but that would result in significant revenue loss, negatively impact share price for stockholders, and jeopardize your position as chief executive officer (CEO).

The accounting department advises that the likelihood of customers formally filing a complaint is fairly low (under 10% of all purchasers) and that the typical claims can be settled easily, since no one has experienced lethal responses to using Eternally Yours. The legal department states that the product packaging says it is not FDA-approved, and that most people that sustain an injury is mild and are unlikely to file a claim. As CEO of FOY, it is your task to report to the Board of Directors and shareholders at next week’s annual meeting and discuss what steps are being taken in response to this product defect. As you prepare for this meeting, you research and prepare to answer the following questions:

  • Do you keep Eternally Yours on the shelf or recall the product and reformulate it?
  • Identify the ethical theory relied upon in making your decision in question 1 and explain why that theory was selected and is best for FOY in this matter.
  • Based on your reading of the course learning materials, identify the stakeholders (those who are impacted by your decision) and explain whether FOY has a corporate social responsibility (CSR) to those identified or not.
  • Would you characterize this problem as ethical, legal, or both? Explain.

Has to be a minimum of 300 words thank you

Unit 7 DB Marketing

Throughout your studies, you will be presented with opportunities to respond to other people’s opinions and comments. Please respond to your Discussion topic after you have completed the Reading.

Identifying the Sample

You have 2 topics to address in this Discussion, which means you will have a substantial post. Make sure you read the description of a solid post in the Announcement Area. (NOTE: Points will be deducted for weak posts).

You are required to respond to at least two of your classmates. These responses need to be of quality and have meaning in order to add to the learning process.

Discussion topic 1:

A manufacturer of household care products in the U.S. would like to find out how satisfied consumers are with the laundry detergent they are currently using. The information is important because the manufacturer wants to produce a product that satisfies the consumer’s needs.

  • What sampling technique, listed in Figure 14.4, on page 304 of the Basic Marketing Research textbook, will you recommend for the study? Why? Be specific.
  • What are other sampling techniques that could be used, if you only had a short period of time and a small budget to complete the study?

Discussion Topic 2:

In the past, the HR department has gathered information from some management trainees, who reported the name of a competitor from which they received another offer and the size of their starting salary. The HR department thinks that these statistics may be biased and wishes to approach the whole task more systematically. Because of your expertise in marketing research practices, you have been assigned to determine the situation with respect to the last group of trainees hired.

Describe how you would select a sample of respondents to answer the question of starting salary offers. Answer from the perspective of both the company and the potential employee.

Culture for Diversity Foreign Workers

Now that you have selected your area of diverse concentration, you are now tasked with designing a plan to aid your selected group in one of the following countries:

  • China
  • Japan
  • Brazil
  • India

The new organizational strategic initiative is to expand into the selected country. The executive leadership team has asked you for a report on the diversity area (the one you selected) and the country (selected above) expanding to. The report should address the following questions:

  1. Introduce your diversity area and country
  2. What are some of the challenges your diversity area would face in the country culture you selected?
  3. Are there any ethical or legal implications that protect your diversity area in the selected country?
  4. Discuss some techniques that as the manager you would use in order to ensure an inclusive work culture.
  5. Conclude your diversity report.

I have provided my last paper, you can pick whatever country you like. Please make sure paper is APA Format with no plagarism

Create four versions of your summary that address different audiences:

Your local public health department has decided to create a campaign that encourages people to eat more nuts because of their potential health benefits. The department plans to focus its education efforts on three main audiences: people over 55, children younger than 12, and college students. As part of the campaign, they need a two-sentence summary of the primary health benefits for each audience.

Find three articles on the health benefits of eating nuts (or a particular nut). Create four versions of your summary that address different audiences:

  • Appropriate for all of the audiences
  • Particularly appropriate for seniors
  • Particularly appropriate for children
  • Particularly appropriate for college students

When submitting your final summaries, answer the following questions:

  • What changes did you make to your summaries to accommodate for each of these audiences, and why?
  • What assumptions about your audiences helped you decide what to include or exclude?

Also, include complete reference information for each of the three articles you used to create your summaries. Lastly, write a one-page memo directed to the Outreach Team of the Public Health Department that includes each of your summaries and justifies your choices.

Assignment requirements:

  • Include all four (4) versions of the summaries you wrote.
  • Support your analysis and discussion with research from at least three sources. (You may use the course readings, in addition to other sources found through your research efforts, but citing course readings will not fulfill this requirement.)
  • Your paper should be 4-5 pages in length, not counting the required title and reference pages.

week 3 discussion 1

Prepare: In your first post in this discussion, you
will identify and apply one ethical theory of your choosing to a current
problem in business, also of your choosing. Start by reviewing your
notes on the Week 1 course material and your completed work for Week 1.
Then, choose one of the three ethical theories—i.e., utilitarianism,
deontology, or virtue ethics—on the basis of your thoughtfully
considered preference in general and independent of the business problem
that you will select here. Keep in mind that you will employ this
ethical theory for supporting your position not only for this
discussion, but also for this week’s assignment and the Final Project.

To prepare for your selection of the current problem in business,
look at the list of required articles and multimedia which are divided
in the six case-categories as follows:

  • Banking (Lehman Brothers)
  • Environment (BP)
  • GMOs (Monsanto)
  • Pharmaceuticals (Merck)
  • Gender Discrimination (Goodyear)
  • Factory Farms (Perdue) Choose the case-category that you find the most interesting and note
that each category also corresponds to one particular case. Please
choose carefully because your choice for this discussion will establish
the case that will be central to your argumentative essay this week as
well as your Final Project in Week 5. It is recommended that you leaf
through all the required resources indicated for the possible
case-categories that you identify as possible contenders before making
your final choice. Reflect: Once you have selected your ethical theory
and your case category, articulate the characteristics of the economic
system (or combination of both systems) that serves as the setting for
the case presented in the case category sources. Given this context,
examine how the nation’s laws affect the operations of the business.
Next, identify the characteristics of your chosen ethical theory and
its notion of the moral good. For the latter, you will need to review
again the PowerPoint that was introduced in Week 1, which is also listed
in this week’s Required Resources and it is titled The Moral Good in
Three Traditional Ethical Theories. Then, think how you would apply the
ethical theory to the specific problem presented in the case category
sources. Write: Start your post by (a) identifying the issue
or problem that you want to address in the case that you have selected
and providing an impartial presentation of the controversy, (b)
articulating briefly the characteristics of the economic system that
serves as the setting, and (c) examining the laws that affect the
    operations of the business.
The following illustration should help. Consider, for example, the
case of Uber that we examined in Week 2. If the California decision
establishes a precedent for similar claims, then Uber would have to do
business as an employer and not merely as a service that pairs consumers
with ride sharing services by means of a unique phone app. Accordingly,
the law would require Uber to reimburse its drivers for certain costs
and perhaps offer benefits. Take in consideration, then, the legal
setting for the case that you have chosen. Does the case take place in
the United States or another country? What are the laws that are
relevant to the problem under examination? Keep in mind that all laws
are constraints on our actions, whether those by individuals or
corporations. The relevant laws, then, will be (a) any laws that present
not only a constraint on the company’s operations, (b) any laws that
are being violated by the corporation, or (c) any laws that unfairly
limit the goods and services that can be offered to and are demanded by
    consumers.
In a second paragraph, formulate a sentence that presents the moral
position that you want to defend in regard to the issue or problem
    introduced in the previous paragraph.
In the same paragraph, present the ethical theory that you choose to
employ. Your choices are utilitarianism, deontology, and virtue ethics,
and the necessary material is included in the required readings and
media. Make sure to identify the characteristics of the ethical theory,
and include in-text citations and full references in APA form at the end
of the post. Once you have done this, apply the ethical theory to your
selected case by explaining how it lends itself to the moral position
    that you are defending.
    Requirements for Your Initial Post:
  • Your initial post should be at least 400 words in
length and have citations and references in APA notation. It should
address the prompt in its entirety. This means that you should not split
your response to the prompt in multiple posts. Your examination should
be both thorough and succinct. This is a combination that demands time
and thought, so give yourself sufficient time to draft and revise.
  • Please be advised that until you post, you will not see what your
fellow students are posting. Once you submit your post, you will be able
to view the posts from your other classmates. You can then proceed to
reply to at least two different threads based on the required material
    for this discussion.
  • Your list of references for your initial post should include the
videos and the other required reading material pertaining to your chosen
subject heading, as well as the ethics, economic, and law components of
Weeks 1 and 2, the Instructor Guidance, and any other announcements
presented to you by your professor. In addition, your references should
include any other sources that you consult to inform yourself about your
chosen case category (but not Wikipedia or similar sources).
  • Your initial post for this discussion should be submitted no later than the end of Thursday (11:59 pm, U.S. Mountain time).

250 words concering domestic violence in my area of New York

Domestic violence, though not an area that is typically thought of as something to be dealt with by the world of clinical psychology, is likely to be a part of many situations in which a clinical psychologist or other related mental health professional may be called to assist those in need. Domestic violence is not simply the result of a bad relationship between two people; relationships of all kinds can be affected by domestic violence. According to the United States Department of Justice (2013), domestic violence is defined as “a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power or control over another intimate partner. Domestic violence can by physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person.” As you can see, that covers most if not all areas of human interaction, areas that most certainly include the world of mental health and as a result the world of clinical psychology.

For this learning activity, conduct a search of the Kaplan library for a “domestic violence assessment tool” and find at least one article that sought to evaluate an instrument of domestic violence assessment. Additionally, conduct a general search of the Internet, and find at least one resource in your area that may either be connected to the findings of the article you located in the library, or a reliable local resource that directly addresses domestic violence prevention or treatment. In at least 250 words, discuss both the findings of the article from the Kaplan library, as well as any local resource or resources that you found concerning domestic violence in your area. My area is New York

Questions to consider as part of your discussion:

What did you learn about the assessment tool you found? Does it meet the needs of its intended target, with regard to both those who administer the test, as well as those it is intended to serve? Are there any cultural or gender biases that should be taken into consideration with regard to either the administration or application of the tool? If so, what are they?

With regard to the local resources you found, what services are provided? Do they provide services for both perpetrators and victims of domestic violence? Are the services being provided meeting the needs of those they are attempting to serve?
