International Relations paper

You must write a paper explaining a historical or current event in
world politics using one of the IR theories we have covered in the course. You must
choose an event you wish to explain and make a theoretically informed argument that
must answer either or both of these questions: Why did this event come about? Why did
it unfold as it did? The theory you choose will explain the causes of the event and/or how
the event developed over time once it began. Examples of events include but are not
limited to the outbreak of a major war, responses to ethnic conflict, the creation and/or
demise of major international institutions or treaties. You must provide evidence to
support your argument, and discuss the most prominent contending explanations and
explain why yours is the most persuasive. Your paper should adhere to standard
formatting guidelines (title page, double-spaced; Times New Roman 12-point font; 1 inch
margins, list of works cited) and be 4-5 double spaced pages in length (not including title
page, and list of works cited).

Intervening With Peer Violence

Watch the following 18-minute video Bullies. Be sure to take notes as you watch as you will apply what you learn to the following questions:

  1. What did you find surprising in the video? Why?
  2. How did what you learned about the Cycle of Violence relate to what we have been learning about prevention and intervention for peer victimization?
  3. Compare the two intervention programs discussed in the video with what we have learned about best practices for intervening in peer victimization.
  4. Describe an intervention program that you might develop based on what you have learned throughout this module. Your program might include elements of either or both of the intervention programs you saw in the video.  Be sure to explain your rationale based on research for choosing the elements of your program.
  5. Based on what you learned in your readings as well as from watching the video, does research support inclusion of legal consequences for  intervening in bullying behavior?

Your response should be 3-5 pages long and include a cover page and reference list.

Self-Reflection

Your self-reflection should connect your learning (i.e. text, lecture) from this week’s module to specific aspects of your experience, the example should be relevant to the learning, and statements should be based on evidence (i.e. from text and lecture) and supported with your personal examples. And of course, it should be well written.

The self-reflection should include the following:

1. Describe the theory/concept/idea from your learning.

2. Describe the context of your experience. What, Where, When, Who. What did you do? What did others do?

3. Explain your learning: You could use the following prompts. “I learned that”…Express an important learning outcome, not just a statement of fact and not only in the context of the experience. “I learned this when”…Connect the learning to specific activities that gave rise to it. “This learning matters because”… Why does this matter to you (personally or professionally) and to the other involved? “In light of this learning, I will”…Explain if you will change your future behaviors, and the associated benefits and challenges of that change (or not).

Private Investigation I-1, assignment help

For this week’s assignment, you will write a 1.5-2 page essay about interrogation and interviewing. Be sure to address all prompts and cite your sources in APA format. This is worth 75 points, so be thorough and give your best effort.

Consider the reading assignment on interviews and interrogation from Chapter 5 of your textbook. When conducting an interview or interrogation, why are private investigators held to a higher standard, and subject to more legal ramifications than are police? Write a 2- to 3-paragraph paper summarizing the differences in the guidelines for private investigators and police in interviewing and interrogation. Research any case laws that apply in these matters.

Analyzing Romantic Poetry

Analyzing Romantic Poetry

In this task, you will closely examine a poem from the Romantic period. You will then write an essay that explains the poem by presenting a claim about it and providing an argument to support the claim. Your essay will also include an analysis of how specific elements affect the poem as a whole.

Part A

Choose a poem by one of the following poets:

  • Thomas Gray
  • William Blake
  • William Wordsworth
  • Samuel Taylor Coleridge
  • Lord Byron
  • Percy Bysshe Shelley
  • John Keats

Below are some suggested poems for this activity:

However, if you prefer to work on a different poem, it’s a good idea to read through the entire instructions for this activity first to ensure that you choose a poem that is appropriate in length and complexity for the essay you’ll be submitting.

Which poem did you choose, and what influenced your selection?

Part B

Once you have chosen a poem, read it carefully.

What is the poem’s theme or central idea? How does the author use of figurative language or other poetic devices and what effect do those have on the poem? How would you describe the tone of the poem? How would you describe the structure or organization of the poem?

Part C

After you have read the poem thoroughly, present your analysis of the poem in an essay. Think of a major claim that you can make about the poem and build an argument to support that claim using evidence from the text. (An essay that contains such an argument is called an explication of a poem.) Your claim may be a specific interpretation of the poem, a view about the poet’s attitude toward the subject, the relationship of the subject to the historical context of the poem, the significance of some element of the poem’s form, or another similar type of analysis.

Your essay should include the following:

  • your interpretation of the poem
  • textual evidence to support your interpretation
  • an analysis of specific elements of the poem
  • a discussion of how specific elements of the poem (such as theme, figurative language, or structure) affect the meaning of the entire poem
  • a major claim about the poem
  • an argument to support your claim

Use Internet resources for help on crafting your essay, such as the ones below:

You can also consult other essays and discussions about the poem you choose. Be sure to cite any ideas in your essay that came from the Internet or other sources, and remember to cite all the resources you used for ideas as well as direct quotes in your essay by using in-text citations and providing a works cited list in MLA format.

Insert your essay in the space provided.

Part D I will do myself

Part E

Next, write briefly about how you revised your essay, addressing the following points:

  • Did you revise certain sections of the explication?
  • What was the reasoning behind your decision to revise those sections?
  • How do you feel about the results of the revisions?
  • Analyze your choices in revision based on the checklist. How does your essay align with the revision checklist?

Pick a modern day problem facing our world/society/country today. Write your own “ modest” proposal. Make sure you have come to understand the questions that guided your reading. Specifically, how did the author begin his work? How did the author give glimpses of his true feelings? How did he convey some “real” suggestions to the audience? How would Swift address the problem you recognize in our world today? You will want your proposal to include the satire that Swift has in his.

Case Study on Self Regulation

USING THE ATTACHED FILE, write a case study and cite what slides you found the answers in, also make a reference page.

The goal of this case study is to get you to consider why or how failures in self regulation could occur.

Janie, a person with an avoidant temperament approaches you, a clinical psychologist, and indicates that she is having an anxiety problem. Specifically, she suffers from “generalized anxiety” which means that she is chronically anxious and really doesn’t know why. In other words, nothing in her environment triggers anxiety, per se, she just feels anxious all the time.

Why should this make sense to you, knowing that she has an avoidant, rather than an approach temperament?

You decide to use a cognitive therapy strategy to assist her in alleviating her anxiety. In preparation for your first counseling session, you create a cybernetic behavioral and affective feedback loop that would indicate how an anxiety disorder would occur (NOTE: the KIND of behavior feedback loop you use is critical to understanding this task)

So, pick you behavior loop. Next indicate how a malfunction in the components would likely create chronic anxiety that would lead to her anxiety disorder. Look at each component, consider how it should function for a person to have a normal affective life, and then consider how that specific component could work improperly, thereby causing an erroneous affective output.

After identifying all of the possible malfunctions, focus in on one and formulate a strategy to help her regain adaptive self regulation that would decrease her anxiety disorder.

Budget Analysis Harford County, Maryland

Evaluating Expenditures

The goal of public organizations is to provide public services. This is done through expenditures ranging from salary for law enforcement personal to maintenance of public parks. Governments provide a wide range of public goods and often there is more demand for services than revenue to pay for those services. Determining annual expenditures is one of the primary functions of any governing body and trade-off typically have to be made.

In this discussion, you will review the expenditure priorities of the city or county government in which you live. Finally, you will make recommendation of how to reduce future year expenditures when faced with a revenue short-fall.

Be sure to first review your readings from this week and prior weeks that will help support this discussion and then research additional resources to assist in your evaluation. For example, it is helpful to examine available data and other public documents for the city or county. These resources are useful and should be incorporated into your discussion. Also be sure to incorporate the Mikesell text to support your analysis.

The Assignment 1.5-2 pages, APA format, Cite all references and include:

  • In looking at the Harford county government budget, identify 3 departments which get the most general fund resources.
  • Next, identify the expenditure categories that are most important in the total spending for each department.
  • Finally, If this county entity was faced with a 2% reduction in general fund resources, what specific expenditure reductions would you recommend and why?

Be sure to support your posting and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.
