Meeting Bad Reasoning with Good

Ignorance is the greatest cause of hatred and disorder in the world. The best way to combat ignorance is through the dissemination of valid and accurate information. The rise of the Internet has made vast amounts of information widely available to people around the world. It can therefore be said that the Internet is the greatest tool for increasing tolerance and harmony that has ever been created.

In 1-2  pages, create an essay that refutes the above stated argument. Your refutation  should also contain an analysis of the Internet argument addressing its  structure (deductive or inductive), and whether it is cogent or fallacious.

  • What are the pros and cons of using it?
  • What is the range of services they typically offer?

Training and Development

It is important as a human resource professional that training and development is provided to the employees of the organization. It is important to keep the organization moving forward, and a major part of this process is to ensure that all employees are receiving training, and are developing within their careers. By doing this many long term positive effects can be achieved for the organization and its staff (Pynes, 2013).

One from of training that can be provided is the use of case studies. A case study is an event from the past that is broken down into parts, so that people can learn from it. The case study shows what went right to even things that were bad. Case Study are important in training, because the allow people to talk about an issue and learn from the past. A person could also learn to do something differently from a case study. They take real life events and make it a teachable moment (Pynes, 2013).

A great example, of a development method would be team building exercise. The development comes from a group of people learner to work as one, and getting to know each other. A group learns the strengths and weakness of the different members, and learn to work as one to get through different challenges. This type of development is extremely valuable for both the employee and the organization (Scudamore, 2016).

This is my take of Executive compensation. I have seen some great perks given to people and its something to strive for.

The compensation of multilevel managers, and especially of CEO, generates a great deal of interest and strongly held opinions. Executive compensation is a very important thing to consider when evaluating an investment opportunity. Executives who are improperly compensated may not have the incentive to perform in the best interest of shareholders, which can be costly for those shareholders. Paying the top level manages is very important as well. There are many different forms of executive compensation offering a variety of tax benefits and performance incentives. Cash compensation is the most common. This is the sum of all standard cash compensation the executive receives for the year. The company will list the base salary for each key member of the management team, such as the chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), director of sales and other divisional heads. Besides cash compensation a company can offer option grants.

Option grants is a list of all options granted to the executive. Stock options if used the right way, are a terrific way to inspire management to maximize shareholder value. Though, there is a downside to this type of compensation. Management is awarded a significant options grant that is barely out of the money, meaning if the stock price goes up a little, management will be able to exercise options, convert them to common stock and sell the shares to reap a quick windfall. Another and very important form of compensation is retirement.

Retirement packages are given to executives after they retire from the company. It is customary for some executives to receive health benefits upon retirement for years of service, or other realistic perks. These are important to watch because they can contain so called golden parachutes for corrupt executives or be payable regardless of whether the company meets its financial objectives or is even profitable.

Hospital Web Sites

Hospital Web Sites Evaluation

People often use hospital Web sites to gather information about the facility. Therefore, it is very important that hospitals implement well-designed Web sites to market services to the public. Hospital marketing professionals should work with a web design team to ensure that information is easy to locate on their site.

To understand how the two facilities you have chosen for your interviews and final project promote themselves virtually, you will do a deep dive into each of their Web sites. This will give you an idea on the overall marketing approach they are taking and offer insight for more meaningful conversations when you conduct your interviews. Feel free to expand to the use of social media and other virtual forms of promotions and communication the facilities may be utilizing.

Your Unit 4 assignment should include a comprehensive comparison paper regarding the following aspects of each Web site:

  • Ability to access information quickly.
  • Visual appeal for patients from a marketing perspective.
  • Visual appeal for physicians or providers from a marketing perspective.
  • Depth of information available on topics of interest.
  • Information you could not locate.

This is expected to be a narrative paper, demonstrating an ability to apply the marketing principles and concepts covered in the course material to evaluate the marketing approaches of the facilities. Be sure to help explain and back up your writing with researched, legitimate, and credible information.

Pre-Debate Analysis

Pre-Debate Analysis 1

Resolution: “Memory” is the best term to describe the Introductory Rites of the Eucharist.

  1. Using the “Order of Mass,” the “General Instruction of the Roman Missal” (GIRM), and your notes from class, present an outline of the Introductory Rites of the Eucharist.
  2. In 2-4 sentences, describe what the history of the Introductory Rites tells us about the meaning of the Introductory Rites. In your description, be sure to note a few (2 or so) examples from the history of the Introductory Rites that emphasize your point.
  3. In 1 sentence, define “corporate memory,” and in 2-3 sentences, explain how article 2 of the Liturgy Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium (SC) helps us to understand this term. In your explanation on SC, n. 2, be sure to use concrete examples or quotes from the text.
  4. In 2-4 sentences, explain the meaning of the following claim: liturgical memory includes psychological memory, but liturgical memory is also more than psychological memory. In your explanation, incorporate (and use correctly!) the terms “anamnesis” and “enact/participate/perpetuate.”
  5. Write a 2-3 page “constructive” statement that either affirms the prompt.
