creative interpretation of the importance of creativity in problem
solving.

There are multiple elements to this Case Assignment. Please make
sure that you follow the requirements very carefully and double-check
your work against the requirements before uploading.

PowerPoint training courses, videos and tutorials:

Case Assignment

This is a multi-part assignment that contains several elements that
must be included in each slide. Therefore, make sure that you follow the
Case Assignment guidelines very carefully and include everything that
is required. For example, for the Case Assignment, slides 1 and 2 must
include both graphics and words to help explain your impressions of
‘creativity’ and Problem Solving’. For Slides 3 and 4, you must have
reviewed the prescribed article to answer the questions.

Pay close attention to the requirements in the Assignment
Expectations. Steps 2 and 3 list exactly what your slides need to
include.

Make sure that you double-check your work against the requirements before you upload your slideshow.

Develop a short PowerPoint presentation to illustrate your
understanding of the creative process. Highlight your own creativity as
you develop the following slides:

Slide 1: Include images and words in a collage that illustrates your
first impressions when you see or hear the word “creativity.”

Slide 2: Include images and words in a collage that illustrates your
first impressions when you see or hear the word “Problem Solving.”

Slides 3 & 4: The process for developing innovative ideas is
often referred to as the design process, or the engineering design
process. The article, Decisions by Design: Stop Deciding, Start Designing
was written by two designers at IDEO, an influential design firm.
“Decisions by Design” describes how the process of engineering design
can be viewed as a process for decision making. After reading this
article, consider how design facilitates decision making. Based on your
observations, what are some steps in the design process? How are these
steps helpful in decision making? Organize your answers to these
questions in at least 2 slides using bullet points. Include images
wherever you would like to illustrate your own personal creativity.

Powerpoint and Innovation in Technology

Define the following Business Terms in a PowerPoint presentation. Use your creativity to illustrate each term.

There
are multiple elements to this SLP. Please make sure that you follow
the requirements very carefully and double-check your work against the
requirements before uploading.

SLP Assignment Expectations

This SLP requires that you define 23 Business Terms in a slideshow where each slide contains both verbal and visual elements.

The best way to approach this assignment is to follow the order of
the terms as they are presented. Begin with ‘Accounts Payable’ and end
with ‘Variable Cost’. DO NOT skip around and present the terms
out-of-order. This can lead to confusion and run the risk of missing
terms. It also makes it difficult for the reader to follow.

What the slides must contain is noted below. Make sure that you
double-check your work against the Expectations before you upload.

Your PowerPoint presentation should be a minimum of 10 slides.
Include a Title and References Cited slide. Creative images can be found
using Internet websites, scholarly articles, textbooks, etc. Your
References slide should list the bibliographical information for each
image you use to illustrate the required terms. Each slide must contain:

  • At least one image per term
  • Abbreviated text defining the term
  • References cited next to each image (full reference will be included
on the References Cited slide, so refer to the Writing Style Guide on
how to use in text citations next to each image)
  • Full definition in each Notes section

assignment/ Digital Divide/600 words

M3R Final Due Date: Fri, June 1st at 11:45PM.

Worth: 5%

Minimum Word Count: 600 words Maximum Word Count: 800 words

There are different explanations of what constitutes a Digital Divide, and considerable research on the various groups of people integrating the internet (or not) in very different ways, due to socio-demographic factors.

In your own words (properly paraphrased and cited), explain what is meant by the Digital Divide and what groups of people in general are noted to be affected by/experiencing the Digital Divide. Pick one group specifically, and explain how some of the barriers and constrains experienced by this particular group of people impedes fully partaking in the Participatory Culture that Jenkins et al (2009) describe.

Important Notes:

  • The ‘tone’ is academic and more ‘formal’; avoid first person, watch your vocabulary – do not be conversational, do not use contractions.
  • You are required to stay within the minimum and maximum word count, or you will be penalized .5.
  • You are required to stay within the minimum and maximum word count, or you will be penalized .5 (half a mark).
  • Do not provide descriptive opinions and speculations, make succinct arguments that are supported by research and literature.
  • Double space your submission. Please pay attention to your writing style: grammar and punctuation matter. Have someone proofread your work. Your responses must have an introduction, body/discussion, and conclusion. Response submissions should not be one paragraph. No need for title pages, or running header this assignment.
  • Your M3R response must include at least two pieces of support from of the module three readings. Jenkins et al (2009) must be included (cited/reference list), but is not counted as part of your support/evidence.
  • Properly cite and reference any readings that you use in APA format. Submissions that do not cite and reference material properly will not be accepted and will result in a zero. This means, if nothing is cited in your submission – it will not be accepted. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are meeting university standards for academic writing, regardless of what your home department is.
  • Do not use any direct quotes in your module submissions – Instead, rephrase and cite properly. You will be penalized .5 (half a mark) if you use direct quotes. Paraphrase and cite properly (this is a learned skill).
  • Please name your M3R file properly with course number, last name, and assignment name. For example: 2F00FirstLastNameM3R.doc

How to submit this assignment:

  • Go to Assignments on Sakai.
  • Click M3R and and click ‘Add Attachments’. The file must be a .doc file, or a .pdf file. (Note: If you are using a Mac, you can convert a Pages document into a word .doc file by going to the menu bar and choosing: ‘File’ – ‘Export’– ‘Word’).
  • Files that cannot open and/or incorrect files will receive a grade of 0.
  • We will not be tracking down assignments: you must submit properly, on-time.
  • Check and double check to ensure that the file is attached and is the correct file. After submitting, definitely review your submission so you can see/confirm the file.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have uploaded your file into Sakai. You have a maximum of five re-submission attempts BEFORE the deadline passes.
  • Late assignments are not accepted and will receive a grade of 0.
  • Assignments sent via e-mail will receive a grade of 0.
  • Do not wait until the last ten minutes to submit your module response.
  • Technological issues (ie my laptop froze at 11:44pm) are not grounds for extensions. You MUST have the appropriate (and reliable) technology to take this course, and you must plan your time effectively.
  • This assignment is not ‘complete’ until it has successfully been submitted to Sakai before the deadline. Do not email screen shots ‘proving’ the assignment was done before the deadline in hopes it will be accepted – it’s not done until it is submitted electronically to the right place in Sakai.

A bicycle is approximately one block from a signal controlled intersection. The bicyclist is riding along the right side of the right lane closest to the curb, you notice a red pick-up approaching the bicyclist from the rear, and even though the left lane is open, the pick-up stays in the right lane no more that 18 inches away from the bicyclist as the pick-up passes it. The pick-up slows and comes to a stop in the right lane at the intersection at a red light, however as the bicyclist approaches the stopped pick-up, the bicyclist continues on the right, passing the pick-up, slows briefly at the intersection clearing traffic and continues through the intersection straight ahead through the red light.

It is raining a little bit so you have your windshield wipers on. Slowing for traffic ahead you notice a vehicle in the right lane creeping along at maybe 30 mph really messing-up traffic. You move in behind and take note of the 1965 rusted pick-up and its valid license plate. There is 2×4 lumber slowing this vehicle down and it is extending 4 feet out of the back and there are no lights on to the rear. As you come alongside the vehicle you notice that the pick-up doesn’t have any headlights on either, you slow and move in behind the vehicle.

What the difference between interviewing and interrogation?

In this assignment, you will explore how interrogation is different from interviewing.

Scenario:

You work as a psychology professional for a metropolitan police department. Your primary job is to screen police officers for employment and emotional stability. You make recommendations about their suitability for employment, conduct interviews with police officers to determine whether they should be referred for counseling, and monitor their performance by dialogues with their superiors. You are recognized for your skills as a clinician, and you are asked to participate with a team of interrogators so they may become more proficient in obtaining confessions from suspects.

Compare the relationship of a psychology professional working with a suspect as a client with the relationship of a psychology professional working as a consultant to an interrogator.

Tasks:

In a minimum of 300 words, respond to the following:

  • Part 1: Differentiate between interviewing and interrogation. What are the goals of interviewing and interrogation? In what instances would a psychology professional be involved in an interrogation?
  • Part 2: Identify a context and setting for a forensic psychology professional to be involved in an interrogation. What would be your concerns in taking on the role of or assisting that forensic psychology professional?
  • Part 3: Review the current version of the APA ethics code and the APA resolution on interrogations and identify an ethical principle that potentially conflicts with psychology professionals participating in interrogation. Discuss your choice in relation to the context and setting you identified in Part 2.

Use the current version of the APA ethics code; choose elements of the ethical principles to explore issues, such as “do not harm,” “informed consent,” “use of assessment techniques by unqualified persons,” and “resolving ethics code conflicts in an organization.” Explore the following issues in the context of the scenario above:

  • Who is a psychology professional’s client?
  • With whom does a psychology professional have a professional relationship?
  • Do psychology professionals have any professional (as opposed to “moral”) obligations to suspects?

LASA 1: Case Study of Behavioral Disorders

LASA 1: Case Study of Behavioral Disorders

In this assignment, you will analyze a fictional scenario and identify the possible disorders involved. All the information needed for this assignment can be found in the textbook. Review the following vignettes:

Behavioral Disorder—Male Vignette

Joe, a thirteen-year-old Asian-American boy, is enrolled in ninth grade at a public high school located in the inner city of a large metropolitan area. Since kindergarten, his teachers have reported increasing levels of concern about his behavior. In elementary school, he was described by his teachers as immature and argumentative with authority figures. In middle school, his behavior escalated to include verbal and physical aggression toward classmates.

Recent reports indicate that he disrupts the classroom often by arguing with his teacher, talking excessively and loudly, and disobeying classroom rules. During breaks or when outside the classroom, Joe associates with a group of boys who tend to get into trouble. He tends to become angry often and easily and has gotten into many fights. Some of his classmates have reported that Joe has threatened them. He does not seem to feel guilty when he gets into trouble. He rarely finishes his schoolwork and is getting poor grades. Beginning this year, Joe’s teacher has reported that he seems easily distracted.

Testing completed by the school psychologist indicates that Joe is intelligent and creative. Results do not support the presence of a learning disability or a developmental disability. The school psychologist indicates that Joe lacks sufficient motivation or desire to complete his work thoroughly or carefully. Joe’s parents report that he refuses to follow rules at home, is often angry, and tends to blame his siblings when he gets into trouble.

Behavioral Disorder—Female Vignette

Maria is an eight-year-old daughter of Mexican-American parents who recently immigrated to the United States. They speak some English, and Maria is fluent in both English and Spanish. She is enrolled in third grade at the local public elementary school. Since second grade, her parents have reported concerns about her difficulty in paying attention or maintaining her concentration. They indicate that she has significant difficulty in completing her homework because she daydreams and is easily distracted by sounds and activities in the home. Maria has the same problem in the classroom, so she often has to bring unfinished classroom work home to complete. Maria gets frustrated at school and during homework time, often stating that she “can’t do” the work and referring to herself as “dumb” or “not smart enough.”

Maria’s frustration with her schoolwork has led to some irritability lately, as well as some desire to avoid school. She tends to have more of a temper at home recently and expresses hopelessness at times. She is most content playing soccer or video games. She tends to concentrate very well during those activities.

Standardized testing completed by all children in the third grade indicates that Maria is of average intelligence. Screening by the school psychologist indicated that she most likely does not have a learning disability.

Select one of the above vignettes and analyze it in the following manner:

  • Identify and describe two possible behavioral disorders one might consider as DSM diagnoses. Make sure you support those choices with specific symptoms observed in the vignettes.
  • Compare and contrast the two diagnoses and select one that you consider as the most appropriate DSM diagnosis. Explain why one is more likely than the other.
  • After reviewing recent research studies, readings in your textbook, and other academic sources, provide a thorough description of the following:
    • The symptoms required for a diagnosis of that disorder
    • At least two possible causes of that disorder, incorporating at least one developmental factor and at least one multicultural factor that may be involved in the cause(s) of the disorder
    • At least three of the most effective treatments available for that disorder
    • At least one controversy, cultural bias, or ethical issue related to treatments available for that disorder
    • At least one controversy, cultural bias, or ethical issue related to the practice of diagnosis or “labeling” children, in general

Write an 8–10-page paper in Word format. Add an APA style title page and references page and cite your sources according to current APA standards. Cite information from at least two academic sources to support your ideas. These may include your textbook, and/or peer-reviewed research articles from the AUO library.

Make sure you write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources, and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Human Sexuality Throughout History Time-line

The textbook describes the various historical-cultural influences that have affected human sexuality. These historical-cultural influences include such events as the sexual revolution, the control of conception, the emergence of contraception, as well as the redefining of gender roles throughout history. Many of these events changed the way sexuality is viewed today. Using Prezi (http://prezi.com/), PowerPoint, or Word create a time-line and identify at least 7 important historical events that you believe influence sexuality today. Evaluate each of these events according to its significance in history and culture. Place the date, a brief description, or even a video clip of the historical-cultural influence. Please read the grading rubric below for additional guidance with this assignment.
