Research the top 5 cars most stolen in the last three years by clicking
on “Theft and Fraud Awareness” in the menu, then clicking “Top Vehicles
Stolen by State.” Alternatively, use your favorite search engine to
search for “top vehicles stolen by state (SOUTH CAROLINA).”

What are the characteristics of the cars stolen most often? How has
the list changed from year to year? What do you believe are the reason
these cars are most commonly stolen?

Discussion Question 400 words in Statistics

I looked the question and got an answer but it has to be 400 words. No plagiarizing allowed of course.

Answer the following questions with at least 400 words and 2 scholarly resources.

  • Complete exercise 1.7 in Chapter 1 on guilt in decision making.
  • Consider the concepts learned and how they apply to a scholarly research article that has measures of guilt and decision making and/or closely related factors.
  • Propose and justify a relevant follow up experimental design and research question to this article using a Biblical worldview.
  • For example, is there a correlation between perceived level of guilt and perceived level of wealth?
  • Explain the implications of this in the context of a Biblical worldview.
  • Be creative and help your peers consider varying perspectives on each dimension of this discussion.
  • Guilt in Decision Making. The effect of guilt emotion on how a decision maker focuses on the problem was investigated in the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making (January 2007).A total of 171 volunteer students participated in the experiment, where each was randomly assigned to one of three emotional states (guilt, anger or neutral) through a reading/writing task.Immediately after the task, the students were presented with a decision problem (e.g. whether or not to spend money on repairing a very old car). The researchers found that a higher proportion of students in the guilty-state group chose to repair the car than those in the neutral-state and anger-state groups.
  • Identify the population, sample, and variables measured for this study.
  • What inference was made by the researcher?

Drugs, Society, Human Behavior, sociology homework help

Answer should be well thought-out, well-written, and
include appropriately cited research and text references where applicable.

Module 1
Discussion Question: Why Psychoactive Drugs?

why do people use
psycoactive drugs?

To answer this question, Google “Why do people do drugs?”

Module 2
Discussion Question: The War on Drugs?

Has
the “War on Drugs” worked? If not why not and if so why has it
worked?

Module 3
Discussion Question – Cocaine vs. Crack?

Why the smokable form of cocaine is so much more addictive than the
snortable form.

Module 4
Discussion Question – Alcohol: the “other side of the story.”

We have all heard the
alcohol horror stories, but it remains a very, very, very popular psychoactive
drug – like it or not! There are some things about the psychoactive effects of
alcohol that keep it attractive to many people. After reading about the biochemistry
of alcohol, explain why it remains so popular.

Module 5
Discussion Question – The Power of Addictive Drugs!

The Amphetamines (that is
a group of similar psychoactive substances of which Meth is only one), the
Opiates (all the various forms of the opium poppy), and Cocaine although they
are chemically very different drugs do share a biochemical similarity
that unites them all in their addictive potential. After reading about them,
venture your educated explanation of the why they are ALL (that is, what
they have in common) so effective at hijacking brain chemistry and physiology
to create addiction.

Module 6
Discussion Question: LSD and Religion?

This discussion is pretty
deep and there is no “perfectly right answer” to it, but it is about
something very important that few people know anything about. LSD (you may have
heard of the infamous Tim Leary) and a host of other powerfully hallucinogenic
psychoactive substances have been used for centuries to invoke religious
inspiration. You should do at least some outside research before you compose
your post. but here is the Discussion Question for Module 6: Why do these
chemicals have a connection to religious/philosophical perspectives? This
should be an interesting discussion

Module 7
Discussion Question: How does marijuana work?

How
does marijuana use create changes in the human brain that have resulted in it
being so popular?

Module 8
Discussion Question: Does Drug Treatment Really Work?

There are many experts who
have done extensive research on the effectiveness of drug treatment programs
and concluded that most are a dismal failure. Do a bit of internet
research and come to your own conclusions and report your findings.

Need some help on this

Parties in civil litigation often try to reach a settlement to help reduce the significant costs, time, stress, and risks associated with litigation. Settlements also help ease the public problems associated with overcrowded dockets. A law firm that represents the plaintiff in a personal injury case may sometimes create a settlement brochure or a video settlement brochure to help achieve a settlement for the client.

For the Unit 8 Assignment, you are working as a legal assistant for the law firm that represents Justin King and set out a plan to decide if the legal team for Justin King should prepare a video settlement brochure.

You will conduct legal research and then write a memorandum to the supervising attorney that represents Justin King addressing the questions listed below. You should conduct legal research on Westlaw or in the Library, or through online articles that discuss video settlement brochures. For example, you might consider running a search on Westlaw in the Law Reviews and Journals database for “video settlement brochure.” You should cite at least two different credible and reliable sources in the memorandum. The memorandum should be 2–3 pages in length with double-spaced lines and 1 inch margins. Use Bluebook or APA citation format. Make sure to cite your sources both in-text and in the references page. Click on “Resources” to access files to assist you in your Assignment.

Questions to Address in the Memorandum:

  1. How can a video settlement brochure help achieve the goals of the legal team representing Justin King?
  2. Should the firm hire an outside production company or create the video settlement brochure in-house?
  3. Should the video settlement brochure focus on liability, damages, or both?
  4. What witnesses should be included in the video settlement brochure?

Response To: Careers in Neuroscience, psychology homework help

Response: You are encouraged to post your required replies earlier in the week to promote more meaningful and interactive discourse in this discussion. In your response, list at least one potential barrier to your colleague’s career choice (e.g., cost, length of education, future job prospects) and how this barrier could be overcome.

1st Response Peluso

My interest in neuroscience involves the field of neuropsychology. This field of study focuses on the structure and functioning of the brain in relationship to specific psychological process and behaviors. I am deeply committed to the further study of how neurological disorders are caused, diagnosed and treated as well as how the brain functions in relationship to the diseased mind. I have had personal involvement with individuals who suffer from different psychiatric disorders. My brother has had epileptic siezures since he was a young adult, my grandson has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and my daughter in law is Schizophrenic. Dealing with such disorders in my personal life has caused me great curiosity regarding the causes of such disorders and has empowered me to seek the knowledge and awareness I need in order to further my understanding regarding the brain as it related to such abnormalities. The more I learn the more fascinated I become regading the brain and the way it functions in the body.

The areas of neuroscience that intersts me the most is Neurobiological Theories, as it relates to emotion and behavior, Receptor and Transmittor Theories as it relates to individual behavior, disorders involving development and the disorders that relate to the aging process. The academic training required to work in these fields would usually involve a Master’s degree or a Doctorate depending on the area of study chosen. Some of these fields would also require internships, clinical programs and residencies.

2nd Response Chambers

One career in neuroscience that interests me is Speech-Language Pathologist. A Speech-Language Pathologistassesses, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. When my son was about 3 years of age, an age where he should had been speaking clearer, I could not understand him. It was frustrating for me and more importantly, him. I would have to constantly ask him to repeat himself. After locating the Babies Can’t Wait program for assistance, he was provided with speech therapy. Even after entering school, the therapy continued until 2nd grade. The assistance he was provided with helped him in all areas, not just with communicating. My son is the reason this career interests me.

The areas that are of interest to me are (1) disorders of language, (2) disorders of memory, and (3) disorders of development. These areas interest me because again of my son. My son was born premature, has specific learning disorder, been diagnosed with ADHD, has a hard time remembering or retaining information, and he’s had trouble in the past with language. My son was accidentally dropped when he was a baby and suffered a mild concussion. He is now 11 and to this day, I still wonder if the drop has anything to do with his developmental delays. After several tests, x-rays, etc., his pediatrician says it didn’t. Learning more about these areas dealing with disorders and how it relates to the function of the brain, will be very interesting and enlightening.

To become a Speech-Language Pathologist, you must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, a Master’s in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, have 400 hours of supervised clinical experience, and become certified. If planning to work within the school system, a teaching certification is needed. The job outlook for 2014-24 is 21%…much faster than average.

Informative Speech Outline

This is not a persuasive speech, so do not share your opinion. You are to share information clearly with your audience so that they receive the information, understand it, and retain it.

Instructions

  1. Select a topic. Choose a topic that you have an interest in learning more about or a topic that you know quite a bit about already and you will be comfortable speaking about. The topic could be a sport, a hobby, a job, a disease, or any issue of public importance. The possibilities are endless.
  2. Find supporting materials. Use your knowledge of the topic first. Then, find outside sources such as books, articles, websites, and interviews of experts on your topic. You must include a minimum of five outside sources for your speech; at least one must not be from the Internet. You will need to cite your sources orally during your speech.
  3. Perform an audience analysis. Speaking effectively is greatly dependent on how well you analyze your audience and adapt your speech to them. Reflect on the demographic of the class and think about their interest and knowledge of your topic. The more audience-centered your speech is, the stronger your effects on your listeners, which will, of course, be reflected in your grade.
  4. Write an outline of your informative speech using the template below as a guide. Create a document that includes details for main and sub points. Using the template below, you should also include the following:
    • Any key research or quotes (supporting material)
    • At least five reputable sources for this speech (not blogs or unreliable websites)
    • Connectives
