Can any of you provide another example where a mathematical algorithm is used to make key business decisions, homework help

As we have been talking about “Math and the MBA” many of you have mentioned the importance of understanding profit/loss, break-even, inventory, etc. to be an effective manager.

There are many mathematical algorithms which are used to solve key business problems. UPS uses many algorithms to optimize the delivery of their packages. The following article Wohlsen (2013) discusses the algorithms behind UPS’s new delivery routing system and the estimated savings from this system.

Can any of you provide another example where a mathematical algorithm is used to make key business decisions? Either in real-time or for long-term planning?

Please answer:

1. How important is it that you learn to use mathematics to solve problems

2. How valuable is an MBA degree without the ability to identify the cost of a company’s capital, its return on investment, gross margin percentage, break-even point, or what percent of a population would be willing to buy its product?

PART 2

An easy way to remember the order of operations is with the acronym PEDMAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction).

The following 2-minute video provides a good refresher for this important concept in math.

Case Study: Evaluating Ashford University Institutional and Program Outcomes, writing homework help

Prior to completing this assignment, read the Ashford University Institutional Outcomes located on the Syllabus page for this course. Additionally, read the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Program Outcomes (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (pg. 248) located within the Online Undergraduate Programs section of the Ashford University 2013-2014 Academic Catalog.

After reviewing the information provided above, you will create a two- to three-page case study focusing on professional and personal scenarios (they can be real or hypothetical) in which you evaluate your learning as it contributes to the overall attainment of Ashford University’s institutional outcomes and the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program outcomes.

In the body of your paper:

  1. Discuss the Ashford University institutional outcomes and the program outcomes by identifying their relevance to a profession in psychology.
  2. Create one personal life example and one career example in which you (or a fictitious person) struggle with personal challenges and an ethical dilemma (e.g., a client or research subject reveals compromising information about a friend or family member who also happens to be someone you know in a personal/social context).
  3. After identifying the problem, include a section wherein you address each of the following prior to making a decision about a course of action:
    • From your point of view, what is the problem?
    • From the point of view of other individuals, what is the problem?
    • What are the options? What are potential consequences of the options?
    • What are the risks of each potential solution?
    • What are the risks of not resolving the challenges effectively?
    • What evidence/data do you have to assist you in decision making?
  4. Apply the competencies gained at Ashford University (from the institutional and program outcomes) to identify the preferred resolutions to the situations you identified in #2 above. Select at least three competencies that are most relevant to your scenarios. Be specific in your discussion of the scenarios and provide details demonstrating professional problem solving in your case study.
  5. Conclude the case study with how you resolved the problem (the outcome) and what you learned while at Ashford University that assisted you in deciding on an effective resolution. You may also identify additional competencies used to resolve the problem that are not included in the institutional and program outcomes.

ece351 week 4 assignment To Play or Not to Play?

To Play or Not to Play?

Video games are one of the many tools industrialized societies use to teach children the technological and intellectual skills they will need as adults. It is argued that playing video games fosters good spatial cognition, visual-spatial organization, executive functioning skills, attention, problem-solving skills, creativity, and the experience of a variety of emotions (Granic, Lobel, Rutger, & Engels, 2013). Many of these areas of functioning have great practical and real-world benefit. Alternatively, there are societal concerns about the violent content of some video games. Violent video games have detrimental effects on children’s behavior and development in a number of ways, which include increased levels of aggression, game addiction, sedentary lifestyle, and isolation (Kirsh, 2003). This information can help you develop your personal framework of play as it relates to video games and your future work with children.

To prepare for this assignment, review this week’s Instructor Guidance and the required readings. Create your assignment to meet the content and written communication expectations below.

  • Conclusion (1.5 points): Write one to two paragraphs in which you summarize the major points of your paper.

Written Communication Expectations

Developing Leadership in a Changing World

Please answer question 1-7 use proper paraphrasing and references also cite and can you put the reference for each under the answer of each questions thank you. FOR QUESTION 3 IT’S A LINK BELOW IT BEFORE ANSWERING THE QUESTION.

1.As we have been discussing, we want to openly value diversity and welcome individual cultures. Yet, we know to some degree we need everyone to come together as one to meet common objectives. How can leaders do both without negatively impacting either?

It seems clear there are benefits for achieving diversity. Yet it continues to be a problem. True enough, there are cultural and historical elements that stand in the way. Unfortunately, best intentions are not enough to enact change. So, what can we do? Consider the action-oriented suggestions in this article: GETTING BEYOND GOOD INTENTIONS TO BRING ABOUT DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE.

2. Do you think any of those suggestions can enact change or are they more intention based only? What specific steps should companies take to ensure their workplaces represent diversity in a way that leads to a productive – not an image-building only – outcome?

3.The more they work together the more they start to see the value from having people from different backgrounds. You will get a lot of different ideas or ways of looking at something that will give your team a competitive edge.” Being sure to include team members and valuing diversity are true key characteristics for any leader to embrace and practice. The question becomes what is the best way to do that? And, where does it start and stop? Specifically, the leader can certainly set the tone, but it takes the entire team to ensure everyone feels value and included.Consider the tips in this article from the perspective of what employees can do. What should the leader do to encourage and sustain this type of employee empowerment? http://www.diversityjournal.com/14154-10-ways-employees-can-support-diversity-inclusion/

4. As more women come into the workforce and take on more leadership roles, what impact will that have on different generations of workers? What challenges still remain for women in leadership positions?

5.There are statistics that validate and expand upon Dustin’s claim: WOMEN AND LEADERSHIP. Although we can blame social history and pressures, should we be letting organizations off the hook? Consider what this company did to put its money where its mouth is: STARTING WITH EQUAL PAY.What would prevent other companies from acting like Salesforce, Inc. after getting past its initial denial?

6.What are the steps to leadership and self-leadership?

7.Compare and contrast groups and teams. Provide an example of an effective team. What are the elements that contribute to its success?
