Project 3 Proposal

Write one paragraph (this implies multiple sentences!) in which
you:
• Clearly explain which option you are selecting from the
choices on the Project 3 prompt (social issue website,
job/career, internship, grad school, law school, future career
goal, some other real world project).
• Explain why your topic is of particular interest or importance
to you.
• Identify the two websites you want to analyze, and explain
why each one is relevant to the option/topic identified above.

RWS 305W Project 3 Prompt
Engaging in public discussion with an informed argument

The goal of this project is for you to apply the rhetorical analysis skills you refined during
Project 2, and practice your new skill of framing analysis in an arena of public discourse. Lakoff
contrasts framing models applicable to conservatives and liberals in order to encourage his
audience of progressive activists to find ways to create solidarity between their own sub-groups.
In what extends from Lakoff, Ryan and Gamson use a case study of a Rhode Island domestic
violence awareness movement to illustrate that while framing is a crucial tool for social change,
broader concrete efforts must also fuel the movement. With a focus just on the technique of
framing, Entman proposes that the communication discipline could accumulate the wide variety
of framing work to develop some inter-disciplinary theory. Entman diagrams the practice of
“framing” to show how framing analysis could be systematized. The latter two articles provide
specific descriptions of framing that could be used as basic tools for analysis of other texts.

Prompt:
Building upon your rhetorical analysis skills, add framing analysis and website evaluation to
investigate two websites. This is more of an analytical journal project than it is a formal writing
assignment. Document your analysis in a journal format, and compose the short writing tasks as
would be appropriate for the particular writing situation.

For the subject matter of this project, you have a choice between four options:
1. Contemporary social/political activist movement (e.g., an equality-related issue,
animal rights, food movement, etc.). Conduct a website evaluation and framing
analysis of two websites related to your selected issue.
2. Job/Career/Internship. Conduct a website evaluation and framing analysis of websites
for two companies/organizations in your field. You may focus on specific job
announcements for each company or organization, or you may focus on the company
itself or a combination.
3. Grad School. Conduct a website evaluation and framing analysis of two graduate
program websites relevant to your field.
4. Another option (related to your major) that we agree upon.

my major is biology (pre pharmacist)

HIV Prevention Plan

You will be creating an HIV prevention plan. This plan will focus on how to reduce new HIV infections among heterosexuals, homosexuals, IV drug users, infants/children, or adolescents in a culture of your choice.

How you go about this is up to you, but it is important to use the research when formulating your plan. Any variables you select should be backed up by research.

In 1,000-1,500 words, do the following:

  1. Choose a culture:

    sub-Saharan Africa

  2. Describe the characteristics of the culture for which you are planning a prevention program. What is their background? Historically do they have a positive or a negative relationship with health care/prevention? Why is it important to implement a prevention program for this culture? Why do you think this is an important culture to apply a prevention program to (risk factors/current rates of HIV)?
  3. Describe several facets of your plan. What variables (e.g., education) will you choose to focus on and why (make sure your why connects directly to the background of your culture)? You should use research to support the variables chosen for your plan.
  4. Using research and psychological principles to support your plan, discuss how you would make this plan successful in your chosen culture. Include information on how you would positively affect variables to promote success. Discuss how you would implement such a plan logistically (Who specifically would you target for your plan and why? Where your plan would be based? How would your plan be different from those that are currently out there? Do you anticipate any obstacles? How do you plan to overcome them?).

Your plan should be written in paragraph form (not in bullet points), but an “introduction” and “conclusion” are not necessary.

You should use four to six outside peer-reviewed journal articles to formulate your response. These should be cited in-text as well as in your References section.

Design a research design

Design a research study on the topic of the study selected in Week One and critiqued in Week Three. Your design should seek to resolve the limitations you identified in the study you critiqued. Your paper must address all of the components required in the “Methods” section of a research proposal:

  • State the research question and/or hypothesis.
  • Specify the approach (qualitative or quantitative), research design, sampling strategy, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques to be used.
  • If the design is quantitative, also describe the variables, measures, and statistical tests you would use.
  • Analyze ethical issues that may arise and explain how you would handle these issues.

Your Final Paper must be eight to ten pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Utilize a minimum of six peer-reviewed sources that were published within the last 10 years, in addition to the textbook, that are documented in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. The sources should consist of the following:

  • One source should be the article you critiqued in the Week Three assignment.
  • At least two sources should be about the research methodology you have chosen for your study.
  • At least one source should be on ethical issues in research.
  • The remaining sources may be about anything pertinent to your study.

In accordance with APA style, all references listed must be cited in the body of the paper.

Required Sections and Subsections (use these headings in your paper)

  1. Introduction – Introduce the research topic, explain why it is important, and present your research question and/or hypothesis.
  2. Literature Review – Summarize the current state of knowledge on your topic, making reference to the findings of previous research studies (including the one you critiqued in Week Three). Briefly analyze and critique these studies and mention the research methods that have previously been used to study the topic. State whether your proposed study is a replication of a previous study or a new approach using methods that have not been used before. Be sure to properly cite all of your sources in APA style.
  3. Methods
    1. Design – Indicate whether your proposed study is qualitative or quantitative in approach. Identify the specific research design, using one of the designs we have studied in Weeks Three through Five, and indicate whether it is experimental or non-experimental. Evaluate your chosen design and explain why you believe this design is appropriate for the topic and how it will provide the information you need to answer the research question. Cite sources on research methodology to support your choices.
    2. Participants – Identify and describe the sampling strategy you would use to recruit participants for your study. Estimate the number of participants you would need and explain why your sampling method is appropriate for your research design and approach.
    3. Procedure/Measures – Apply the scientific method by describing the steps you would use in carrying out your study. Indicate whether you will use any kind of test, questionnaire, or measurement instrument. If using an existing published instrument, provide a brief description and cite your source. If you are creating a questionnaire, survey, or test, describe the types of information you will gather and explain how you would establish the validity and reliability. If you are not using such an instrument, describe how you would collect the data.
    4. Data Analysis – Describe the statistical techniques (if quantitative) or the analysis procedure (if qualitative) you plan to use to analyze the data. Cite at least one source on the chosen analysis technique (from your Week Two assignment).
    5. Ethical Issues – Analyze the impact of ethical concerns on your proposed study, such as confidentiality, deception, informed consent, potential harm to participants, conflict of interest, IRB approval, etc. After analyzing the ethical issues that apply to your research proposal, indicate what you would do to handle these concerns.
  4. Conclusion – Briefly summarize the major points from your paper and reiterate why your proposed study is needed.

Discussion-Acosta

Be sure to reply to posat no later than midnight on Sunday, February 4 (100 words minimum for each reply).

On average four out of five college students drink alcohol, its safe to assume this includes the college students under 21. Because it is illegal for them to drink in a bar or restaurant, they hide out in dorm rooms and “party” when it’s possible to get alcohol. This brings its own risks. When alcohol is hard to come by, as it is for them, its tempting to over drink when it is available. When this does occur, it is less likely for friends to seek help with the possibility of getting in trouble themselves (Should the drinking age be lowered from 21 to a younger age? , n.d.).

Out of 195 countries 116 of them have a minimum drinking age of 18-19 and another 41 countries have lower drinking ages then that. In these countries they are adults when they turn 18. They have all the adult responsibilities that come with the age. The United States does not agree, they are an adult in every way, but the ability to choose to drink. In the US an 18-year-old can serve in the military, drive and vote with no objections. The difference is alcohol is viewed as a drug here, instead of a social event. College students might start acting like adults if we start treating them their age and these secret college parties will start disappearing and this is without explaining further risks involved. (Minimum Legal Drinking Age in 190 Countries, n.d.).

Exercise 12 – Setting Up New Deployments and Patching Services, homework help

Complete this exercise before the end of the module’s week.

You are the network administrator for TreyResearch.net. Trey Research has added a new building and is hiring, and you’ve been tasked to set up new deployment and patching services in the new building, which will be on a separate subdomain and subnet. Updates will be synchronized to the existing company WSUS server.

Company policy dictates a minimum number of physical servers and a minimum security and patching footprint for servers on the network, with no unnecessary roles or features installed.

With these requirements, answer the following questions:

1. Can you install your patching and deployment servers to the same physical server while minimizing the security footprint?

2. What is the minimum number of physical servers required?

3. What virtualized servers can you group together while meeting the requirements?

can you fix this?

Fix the paper up to flow better. the paper must follow the guidelines below. you may add more to the paper if needed.

Paper will need to have:

Case studies

Case Study 1

Calculations: Calculate the client’s target heart rate using the Karvonen formula.

Training Program: Design a 12-week periodized training program for the client described in the Client Profile. Be very specific as you design the training program. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your full comprehension of the information and concepts discussed throughout the course. List the types of exercise, duration, sets, reps, rest intervals, and so on.

Include the following in your case study submission:

  • A description of your professional responsibilities as discussed in the stages of the drawing-in process (Unit 12)
  • Discussion of any fitness tests, methods of evaluation, and data collection used to assess and evaluate the clientÕs needs
  • Specific conditions that you have identified in the client profile
  • A detailed 12-week comprehensive and periodized training program including specific exercises, sets, repetitions, suggested rest times, etc. Use an integrated approach in your program recommendations.
  • Specific and detailed nutritional strategies and an explanation as to how the strategies will assist the client in meeting energy needs
  • Explanation for your chosen assessment, programming, and nutritional recommendations. (Be sure to reference course concepts when discussing rationale for your recommendations.

Keep in mind that a client should be able to take your program and put it into practice without having to contact you to clarify what you intended by your recommendations or to explain parts of your program.

Don’t forget your explanation for WHY you listed and recommended what you did. Reference the concepts and theories covered in the course. Be sure to address why the program and exercises recommended are appropriate for the specific client given the clientÕs history, current abilities, and intended goal(s). For example: if you are developing a program for a beginner client without any resistance training experience, explain how your program addresses the lack of experience, initial need for foundational development, process by which you would safely progress the client, etc. Tying your program to course concepts is a critical component of your case study.
